Storage Instructions

40° RIBBON GRID EGG CRATE
Expand your lighting capabilities and take full control of diffusion like
never before. The Calumet 40° Ribbon Egg Crate is designed to
control light distribution and spilloff by condensing the light source,
while maintaining the soft box effect. It’s perfect for controlling depth
when shooting subjects against a background. Each grid is made to
last using our specification of lightweight flame-resistant nylon and
hook-and-loop fasteners, which are then machine-stitched using
computerized industrial sewing machines, with tolerances that
assure size uniformity in each cell. They are easy to setup and are a
perfect companion for the Calumet soft box family, which includes
Nova, Nova Strip, Nova Video and Illuma. Great for portrait, video,
studio or location. Available in ten sizes.

FIVE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Calumet warrants its Ribbon Grid Egg Crates to be free from defects in
material and workmanship for five years from date of purchase. If this
product is found to be defective in material or workmanship, Calumet
Photographic will, at its option, repair or replace it without charge, subject
to the following limitations and exclusions:
• Warranty extends to the original purchaser only and is not transferable
or assignable.
• Returned product must be accompanied with proof of purchase.
• Warranty shall not apply to any product which has, in Calumet’s
judgement, been subject to misuse, abuse, negligence, accident or
unauthorized repair.
• Damage or failure caused by or resulting from improper installation or
operation of the product, modified product or unauthorized repair.
Calumet’s obligation is limited to repair or replacement of product only,
and no one is authorized to assume any obligation not in accordance with
the above. For technical assistance, call the location nearest you.
A convenient storage case is included
with each ribbon grid egg crate.

Start by positioning the ribbon
grid egg crate into a top corner
of the soft box, making sure
the orientation is correct.
Continue in a clockwise
direction and fasten next
corner firmly in place, again,
stretching the grid as you
move along.
Press corner in place using the
hook-and-loop edges, then
continue on to the next corner,
stretching the grid as you
move along.
Work along the edges and
press firmly into place.
Line up the grid at the top
edge of the soft box. Work
along the edges and press
firmly into place.
Finish assembly by repeating
step 4 (as indicated above).
Your soft box is now ready
to use.
Start by grasping the top two
corners while letting the grid
hang loosely towards the floor.
Fold the grid by using one
hand to gather and the other to
smooth and loop-back-and-
forth. The loops should be no
longer than the storage case.
Bring the two corners together
in front of you. Carefully slide the folded grid into the storage case making
sure it doesn’t twist or come
unraveled.
Hold the corners together with
one hand and position your
other hand as shown.
Secure the hook-and-loop flap.
Work your hands outside the
case to insure the grid is
properly distributed inside.

DO NOT WASH! IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO FOLD PROPERLY FOLLOWING THE STEPS AS OUTLINED ABOVE. STORE IN A DRY SAFE PLACE
WHERE IT IS NOT LIKELY FOR PRODUCT TO BECOME CRUSHED BY HEAVY OBJECTS. DO NOT DISASSEMBLE FROM SOFT BOX BY
PLACING THE UNIT ON THE FLOOR. THIS MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SOFT BOX.
