The Crescent Valley Mountaineering Club is a representative body that exists
to promote the interests of climbers and mountaineers.
Our aim is to develop an organization where like-minded people can meet,
share ideas, and learn new skills in an informal atmosphere. We do this by establishing
relationships between local climbing and mountaineering clubs
through our shared network.
CVMC is a non-profit group that is wholly controlled by its membership. All major decisions
are made by our Steering Committee, which is comprised of elected representatives from
each area covered by our operations. Income is derived from membership dues, subscriptions
to our quarterly journal, sale of services, and grants. An annual report is published everyApril.
One of the many benefits offered by CVMC is our collective expertise. The growing popularity
of climbing and mountaineering comes as no surprise given its freedom from rules, schedules,
and everyday stress. In order to assist our membership enjoy this freedom to the fullest, we
provide guidance to local clubs on how to manage their operations most effectively, and also
supply information on how to preserve the great outdoors for future generations. Our technical
knowledge of climbing and mountaineering equipment is another great resource. Other
benefits of joining CVMC include frequent group excursions, travel discounts, and the chance
to advertise your club to our growing membership of fellow enthusiasts.

Getting a terrific
scan from your
film source is
easier than ever.
Connect the scanner, load your film
The USB 1.1 interface offers Hot Plug & Play,
which means you can connect the FS2720U
when your computer's already on and start
scanning immediately. Mounted slides can be inserted
directly into the unit, and dedicated holders are provided
for 35mm filmstrips and Advanced Photo System
cartridges. When the scanner's not in use, a handy dust
cover keeps unwanted particles out.
User-friendly driver software
CanoCraft FSU supplies Windows users with an easy-to-
use interface for controlling the scanner, while Macintosh
users have the equally well-designed Plug-in Module FSU
to work with. If you're using an image-editing application
like Photoshop, you can scan directly into it with these
drivers. They also let
you easily set the size
and resolution of your
scan, and rotate the
image if you happen to
insert your film upside-
down.
Convenient image adjustment
CanoCraft FSU and the Plug-in
Module FSU allow you to fine-tune scanner settings to
better suit different film conditions, such as with under- or
overexposed images. You have control over brightness
and contrast, the scanner's gamma setting, individual tone
curves, and other variables. A preview image lets you see
how your adjustments will affect the actual scan. Taken
together, these features provide the quickest, easiest
route to optimum image quality.
Save your settings for later
If you've made scanner adjustments that you think will
work well with other photos, you can save these settings
in a separate file to use again later.
Handy electronic manuals
Electronic (PDF) manuals are automatically installed into
your computer, so that you can quickly look up anything
about the film scanner or its software.

Notes on the USB 1.1 interface
● The CanoScan FS2720U features a built-in SCSI-USB adapter. It must be
connected directly to the computer's USB port. USB hubs are not supported.
● Hot Plug & Play (Windows 2000): Use of the standard Windows 2000 Unplug
Utility is required to disconnect the scanner.
● Hot Plug & Play (Windows 98SE/Me): Use of the Unplug Utility is recommended
when disconnecting the scanner.
●Mac OS: Hot Plug & Play is supported for connecting or disconnecting the scanner.
