Use: Two systems are available
Exhaustmode (Fig: S)
Vapors are extractedoutside through an exhausting pipe that is
affixed to theconnection ring abovethe hood.
Diameter of the exhausting pipe mustbeequal tothatof the
connection ring.
In the horizontal runs the ductmustbe slightly slanted (about
10°) and directed upwards to ventthe air easilyfromthe roomto
the outside.
Attention!
Ifthe hood issupplied with carbon filter then itmustbe
removed.
Filter mode (Fig: K)
This version isused when there is no exhaustductfor
ventingoutdoors or when itis impossible toinstall one.
The air is filtered through acarbon filter (for its installation
see paragraph "Carbon filter")and re-circulated into the
room through the grating on thelower side of the
chimney.
Attention!
Ifthe hood isnot supplied withcarbon filter,then itmustbe ordered and
mounted.

When installed,the distancebetween hood and gas burners or electricplates mustbe not
less than 65 cmproviding the total hob outputdoes not exceed 11kw.
For eachkw in excess of 11kwthe distancebetween extractor and gas hob mustbe
increased by10cm.
ELECTRIC CONNECTION
Before completing anyconnection makesure the house voltage corresponds withthe
voltage indicated on the label affixedinside the hood.
Itisadvisable tocall a qualifiedtechnician to make the electricalconnection.
Fitanapproved plug or an approved bipolar switchwithaminimum contactopening of not
less than 3mm.
The manufacturer isnot liable for any problems caused bythe user's failure to
observe the above instructions.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The hood isprovidedwithamotor with several speeds.For thebestperformance,we
recommend using the low speeds innormalconditions and thehigh speeds in particular
cases of strong odor and vapor concentration.
We recommend starting up thehood afew minutes before cooking and keeping itrunning
until all the odors have been eliminated.
WARNING!
• The hood cannotbe connected toflues of otherappliances thatrun on energy sources
other than electricity.
• When the hood is used at the same timeas other appliances thatrun on energysources
other than electricity, provision mustbe made for an adequateair supply.
• No food mustbe cooked flambé underneath the hood.The useof an unprotectedflame is
dangerous for the filters and could cause fires.
• Therefore,never use an open flame under thehood.When frying foods, never leave the
pan alonebecausethe cookingoil could flare up.
• Please,keep to the provisions of official directives regarding the question of fume
discharge.
• The manufacturer refuses toacceptany responsibility for damage tothe hood or its
catching on fire because of failureto observe the above instructions.

MAINTENANCE
Beforeperforming any maintenanceoperation, isolatethe hood from the electricalsupplyby
switching off at the connector and removing the connector fuse.
Or if the appliance has been connected through aplug and socket,then the plug mustbe
removed from the socket.
Metal grease filter (2 or 3pieces)
The metal grease filter lastsforever andmustbewashedeither by
hand or in thedishwasher (65°C) with suitabledetergents. The grease
filters must be washed at least once amonth.
Remove the filter using the handles designed for thispurpose by pulling
the filter backwards and thendownwards (Fig. 2).
Let the filter dry without damaging it before putting itbackintoplace.
Carryout the above steps in reverse order,toput the filters back after having washed them.
Carbon filter (2 pieces)
This filter dissolves cooking odors.
The carbon filter must neverbe washed.
It shouldbe changed every 4months with normaluse.
Fitting and replacing the carbon filter:
1. Disconnectthe hood from theelectricity.
2. Remove the metal grease filters (Fig.2)
3. If the filters have notbeeninstalled, placeonefilter on eachside so that they cover
the gratesprotecting the rotor on the motor. Then turn the centre handlefor the
filters in the clockwise direction (Fig. 3).
4. If the charcoal filters havealreadybeen installed (covering the gratesprotectingthe
rotor on the motor) and must be replaced,turn the central handle in the
counter-clockwisedirection untilthe filters are unlocked. e)Refitthe metal grease
filters.
Cleaning
To clean the outside of the hood use aclothmoistened with denatured alcoholor neutral
liquiddetergents.Never use productscontaining abrasive.Wipe brushed stainless steel in
the same direction as the brushing to avoid scratching.
Attention
Failure to observe the rules for cleaning the appliance and changing and cleaning
the filters can cause fires.Therefore, we recommend observing these
instructions.

Replacing the lamp
1. Disconnectthe hood from theelectricity.
2. Remove the grease filters (Fig.2).
3. Illumination: alwaysreplaceburnt-outlamps with 40-Wattmax.(E14) (Fig. 5) -20
Watt max.(Fig.6) and 11-Watt max.(Fig.7).
4. Refitthe metal greasefilters.
5. Before calling for repair servicebecause the hood fails to lightup,make sure the
bulbs are screwed in tightly.
