IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Sintered activated carbon block filters, as used for this system, are
fundamentally different from:
ptable or jug filters which slightly improve taste and look of the
water, but remove pollutants only to a small extent.
pextruded block filters, which have a highly bonded (hence
ineffective) activated carbon surface because of the molten
bonding agent used during production.
The high-quality activated carbon based on coconut shells that is

used in CARBONIT block filters has a very high adsorption
capacity. Substances such as chlorine, lead, copper,
pharmaceutical residues, as well as hormone-like substances are
removed. The minerals remain in the drinking water.

The QUADRO is equipped with 4 filter cartridges CARBONIT
WFP Premium, WFP Protect, WFP Select or WFP Special. The
filter cartridges must be chosen separately.

QUADRO 60: a max. of 6 months / up to 200 m
QUADRO 120: a max. of 6 months / up to 400 m³
A replacement interval of a maximum of 6 months is recommended
for hygienic reasons and is specified in DIN 1988 / DIN EN 1717
standards. An earlier replacement within this period may be
necessary, however, if the water flow is noticeably reduced. This is
no filter defect but a sign of an increased amount of fine particles
in the unfiltered water.
The filter housing is practically maintenance-free. Cleaning with a
soft cloth and detergent is recommended every time the filter
cartridge is replaced, and mechanical functionality as well as
wearing parts (seals, valves, hoses, etc.) must be checked.
pFilter cartridge: Replacement intervals must be observed.
pSeals / hoses: All seals and hoses are considered wear parts
and must be replaced if necessary.
DISPOSAL OF THE FILTER CARTRIDGES
®
As the activated carbon of the CARBONIT filter cartridges are made
of coconut shells, the used cartridges can simply be disposed of with
the general household waste.
OTHER PARTICULARS
If one does not adhere to this manual, then any and every warranty
claim is forfeited.
No liability can be assumed for the consequences of using filter
cartridges made by other manufacturers.

Fresh spring water for your home - that's no problem with the
®
QUADRO made by CARBONIT . In no time, a healthy thirst quencher
flows from your tap. Installation work may only be carried out by a
suitably trained specialist. The filter unit may only be installed after the
water meter and the backflow preventer. The device must be provided
with an earthing bridge.

Before connecting the Quadro to the water supply system:
turn off the cold water supply (angle valve) and tighten and
secure all connections of the pre-assembled components!
After the installation, starting operations and changing filters one
should without fail undertake a leakage check and repeat this at least
once after 30 minutes. Only operate with cold water!
Fasten the wall holder to the wall using
suitable fastening material (plugs, screws).
When fastening the wall holder,
please note that a space of approx.
260 mm (QUADRO 60) or 460 mm
(QUADRO 120) above and below the
device is required for filter replacement.
The stopcocks and the test water
outlet must be mounted with suitable
sealing material. Now place the filter unit
on the bolts of the wall holder and fix it
with the Allen key.
Connect the stopcocks to the water
pipe. IMPORTANT: Observe the flow
direction of the water.
Installation of the filter cartridges that
must to be chosen separately:
Open the housing cover using the
device key.
Equip the filter cartridges with the
spacer rings in the upper third section.
Insert the filter cartridges with spacers
into the four stainless steel tubes - make
sure that the inner pressure springs are
seated correctly - and close the device
with the housing covers using the device
key. Make sure that the sealing disks are
correctly placed.
Slowly open the stopcock on the water
inlet side and check the unit for leaks.
Open the ball valve at the test water
outlet and drain off approx. 10-20 liters of
water. The filter unit is rinsed, while some
black coal dust is rinsed out. Flushing
the system is also required when
changing the filter.
By opening the stopcock on the
water outlet side, the home supply
is put into operation. The water
outlet side is marked by a label. In
order to remove already existing
contaminations from the piping
system, the water should flow for
approx. 2-3 minutes from each tap
in the house after the QUADRO
installation has been completed. It
is advantageous to clean all the
aerators in the house in order to
wash out the coarsest dirt.
Close both stopcocks to
disconnect the system from the
water supply.
Open the test water outlet on the
front of the device and let the water
drain out.
Now open the housing cover by
turning it counterclockwise with the
device key. Water might still drain
off from the down facing filter
elements.
Remove the old filter elements. If
necessary, use the cartridge lifter if
the cartridges are too tight. The
cartridge spacer ring must be
removed and slid onto the new filter
elements.
Old filter elements can be
disposed of with household waste.
Continue with points and .
By opening the stopcock on the
water outlet side, the home supply
is put into operation.
Check all connections and the filter unit for leaks after completion of
the installation and after approx. 30 minutes.
Your drinking water filter is now ready for use!
The QUADRO can be used again!
