SAFETY
• The bed must not be used within a hospital.
• Opening or replacing electrical components may only be performed by suitably qualified person-
nel.
• If a fault occurs, all components must be disconnected and the mains plug pulled out.
• The motors (for raising and lowering the bed) may only be run for 2 minutes at a time, aer which
they must rest for 18 minutes. These times must be adhered to. Otherwise the motors may be
overloaded, leading to noise and increased wear.
• The electrical wiring may not be exposed to pinching, or other mechanical deformation caused by
bending or pulling.
• Alterations and additions to the control and operating functions are forbidden.
• Do not use the bed in atmospheres with an explosive risk.
• Before operating the bed, make sure that no parts of the body or other objects can become trap-
ped and that there is no one under the bed.
• This bed is not a toy. Children shall not operate the bed without the supervision of an adult.
• The bed frame is fied with a so anti-pinch protector, which you should not sit or stand on.
• When using the bed’s liing or lowering functions, the user shall lie in the bed and not sit or stand
on the moving parts.
• There is a risk of personal injury when using liquids in the proximity of the electrical plugs or other
electrical components.
Specification
The contour of the bed is controlled by a motor assembly and a motorised lumbar support.
The functions are operated via a wireless hand control.The motor and hand control are pre-program-
med by the supplier.They have a unique code system that allows two beds to be placed alongside each
other and still be controlled individually.The bed has an emergency lowering system that permits
lowering of the moving parts of the bed if there is a power failure. The bed frame is also fied with a so
edge to minimise any risk of pinching. In addition to this, there is also illumination, a memory function
and a child-lock.

REPLACING BATTERIES
Remove the baery cover on the rear of the hand control.
Replace with new baeries.The + and – symbols are
engraved. Replace the baery cover.
The hand control is powered by three AAA baeries.
Press any buon for 3 seconds, or wait for 5 minutes for
the hand control to reassume its function.
BATTERY LIFE
If the hand control or emergency lowering function stop
working, it is probably time to replace the baeries.
Be eco-conscious, leave your old baeries at a collection
point.
HAND CONTROL
BATTERY SAFETY
To avoid damage from discharged or corroded baeries, note the following advice:
• Make sure the baeries are correctly fied.
• Do not mix new and old baeries together. Or different types of baery.
• If you wish to use rechargeable baeries: Use only rechargeable baeries. Charging ordinary dry
baeries is dangerous!
• If you are not going to use the hand control for a longer period, remove the baeries.
• If any of the baeries has started to leak, clean out the baery holder and replace all baeries.

OPERATING THE BED
The following instructions will guide you in the operation of your adjustable bed from Carpe Diem Beds of
Sweden.
HEAD OR FOOT END | UP/DOWN
The section of the bed shown on the buon moves up or down as long as the buon is depressed, or until
the end position is reached (when it turns off).
HEAD AND FOOT END | UP/DOWN TOGETHER
Both sections of the bed move up or down as long as the buon is depressed, or until the end position is
reached (when it turns off). When one section reaches end position, the other section continues until it
also reaches end position.
LUMBAR SUPPORT | UP/DOWN
The lumbar support moves up or down as long as the buon is depressed, or until the end position is
reached (when it turns off).
PREPARING YOUR BED
1. Loosen the transport straps holding the mains cable under the bed.
2. Remove the transport security tape from the lamp. Now remove the plastic bag containing
the hand control which is stapled underneath the bed.
3. Place the bed in its position and connect the mains cable to an earthed outlet.
4. Use the hand control and enjoy your bed!

EMERGENCY LOWERING
The bed has an emergency lowering function that allows the moving parts of the bed to be lowered to the
flat position. If a power failure occurs, use the hand control buons as normal and lower the bed to the flat
position. The emergency lowering baery is visible when looking at the motor (see figure below).
The emergency lowering function is powered by two 9 Vbaeries.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT FOR EMERGENCY LOWERING
Loosen the connector on the motor. Pull the baery box straight out.
Replace with new baeries.

FUNCTIONS | CHILD-LOCK
ACTIVATE CHILD-LOCK
Remove one battery from the hand control and wait 15 seconds.
Press both buons on the second row from the top and mount the baery back during pressing the but-
tons. Child-lock is activated.
UNLOCK CHILD-LOCK FUNCTION
Press both buttons on the second row from the top, the blue LED lights up. Adjustments of the bed
are possible as long as the blue LED are lightened.
INACTIVATE CHILD-LOCK
Remove one battery from the hand control and wait 15 seconds.
Mount the battery back to the hand control. Child-lock is inactivated.

ENGFUNCTIONS
MEMORY FUNCTION
There is a memory function built into the hand control, it allows you to store a favourite position for the
head end and foot end.
• Example: move the head end to a position.
• Press the “S” buon (Set) on the hand control.
• Then immediately select memory function 1 or 2 on the hand control.
• The position is now saved.
To use the saved position from the flat position, depress the memory buon you selected and the motor
will stop at the programmed position.
ILLUMINATION
There is LED illumination beneath the bed that is activated via the On/Off buon on the hand control.
The LED illumination is an aid to localisation in a dark bedroom without needing to
turn on other lights.
Before you use the LED illumination: Check that the connectors are in accordance with the figure below
and that the illumination is not hanging down onto the floor, but is fixed to the motor.

ENG FAULT FINDING & SERVICE
SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE
The bed is supplied lubricated with grease on all moving parts such as joints, hinges and bearing
surfaces.Within 2 years at the most; joints, hinges and bearing surfaces shall be lubricated with chain
grease spray e.g. SWEEDEX Chain spray with Zonyl.
As far as service is concerned – follow the instructions in section “remedies” in Fault finding.
CLEANING
The hand control and other components may only be cleaned with a dry or slightly moist cloth.
NOTE! There is a risk of personal injury when using liquids in the proximity of the electrical plug or
other electrical components.
CHANNEL SELECTION
The motor and hand control are pre-programmed by our supplier with a unique seing between each
motor and hand control. If however a problem occurs you can do the following:
Hold the “Reset” buon on the motor assembly depressed with e.g. a ball point pen and press any
buon on the hand control at the same time.

SICHERHEIT & SPEZIFIKATION
SICHERHEIT
• Das Be darf nicht im Krankenhausbereich aufgestellt werden.
• Elektrische Komponenten dürfen nur von Elektrofachkräen geöffnet und ausgetauscht werden.
• Bei Funktionsstörungen müssen sämtliche Komponenten ausgeschaltet und der Netzstecker aus
der Steckdose gezogen werden.
• Die Antriebe (für das Hochstellen und Absenken des Bees) dürfen höchstens 2 Minuten in Be-
trieb sein, danach muss der Betrieb für 18 Minuten unterbrochen werden. Diese Intervalle dürfen
nicht überschrien werden. Anderenfalls kann der Antrieb überlastet werden, was zu störenden
Geräuschen und höheremVerschleiß führt..
• Stromleitungen dürfen keiner Klemmgefahr und keiner Belastung durch Biegen oder Ziehen
ausgesetzt werden.
• Ein Umbau und eine Veränderung der Steuerung und der Antriebsfunktion sind nicht
gestaet.
• Ein Betrieb in einer Atmosphäre mit Explosionsgefahr ist nicht gestaet.
• Versichern Sie sich, dass wenn die Funktionen des Bees gefahren werden, keine Körperteile
eingeklemmt werden sowie dass sich niemand unter dem Be befindet.
• Das Be ist kein Spielzeug. Kinder dürfen die Funktionen nur unter Aufsicht von Erwachsenen
benutzen.
• Der Berahmen ist mit einem weichen Klemmschutz versehen, der nicht dafür da ist, dass man
darauf steht oder sitzt.
• Bei Verwendung der Hochstell- und Absenkfunktion des Bees muss der Benutzer im Be liegen
und darf nicht auf dessen beweglichenTeilen sitzen oder stehen.
• Gefahr für Personen bei der Verwendung von Flüssigkeit in der Nähe der Steckdosen oder sonsti-
ger elektrischer Komponenten.
Spezifikation
Die Positionseinstellungen des Bees werden von einem Antrieb sowie einer motorbetriebenen
Lordosenstütze gesteuert. Die Funktionen des Bees werden anhand einer funkgesteuerten Fern-
bedienung gesteuert. Der Motor und die Fernbedienung sind vom Lieferanten programmiert. Diese
sind einzigartig verbunden, damit es möglich ist, zwei gleiche Been nebeneinander zu stellen und sie
individuell zu fahren. Am Be befindet sich ein System zur Notabsenkung, das bei einem Stromausfall
das Senken der beweglichen Teile des Bees ermöglicht. Das Be ist auch mit einem weichen Rand am
Berahmen ausgestaet, der die Einklemmgefahr verringern soll.
Darüber hinaus gibt es auch eine Beleuchtung, eine Speicherfunktion und eine Kindersicherung.

WECHSELN DER BATTERIEN
Entfernen Sie die Abdeckung des Baeriefachs auf der
Rückseite der Fernbedienung.Wechseln Sie die alten
Baerien gegen neue aus. Die Markierung für + und – ist
eingraviert, setzen Sie den Deckel wieder auf.
Die Fernbedienung wird von drei AAA-Baerien gesteu-
ert und aktiviert.
Drücken Sie 3 Sekunden lang auf einen beliebigen Knopf,
falls Sie das nicht tun wird die Fernbedienung nach 5
Minuten funktionieren.
BATTERIELEBENSDAUER
Wenn die Fernbedienung oder die Notabsenkung nicht
mehr funktionieren wie sie sollen, müssen die Baerien
ausgetauscht werden.
Schützen Sie die Umwelt und entsorgen Sie alte Baerien
vorschrisgemäß.
FERNBEDIENUNG
WICHTIGES ÜBER BATTERIEN
Beachten Sie folgende Ratschläge, um Beschädigungen durch entladene oder korrodierte Baerien
zu vermeiden:
• Achten Sie darauf, dass die Baerien korrekt eingelegt werden.
• Verwenden Sie keine alten und neuen Baerien zusammen. Auch keine verschiedenen Arten
von Baerien.
• Wenn Sie die Baerien selbst aufladen, verwenden Sie stets aufladbare Baerien. Es ist
gefährlich zu versuchen, normale Trockenbaerien zu laden.
• Wenn Sie die Fernbedienung über längere Zeit nicht verwenden wollen, nehmen Sie die
Baerien heraus.
• Wenn eine Baerie geleckt hat, reinigen Sie das Baeriefach und tauschen Sie sämtliche
Baerien aus.
