Vielen Dank, dass Sie sich für einen Helm von CASCO entschieden haben. Die CASCO Feuerwehrhelme
der PF 112 Serie wurden in Deutschland und speziell für erhöhte thermische Beanspruchung entwickelt.
Feuerwehrhelme gehören zu den persönlichen Schutzausrüstungen (PSA Kategorie 3: Helme für den Ein-
satz in heißer Umgebung von 100 °C und mehr, mit oder ohne Infrarotstrahlung, Flammen oder großen
Spritzern von geschmolzenem Material) und tragen dazu bei, Kopfverletzungen zu verhindern oder zu-
mindest entscheidend zu mindern. Bitte nehmen Sie sich etwas Zeit für die folgenden Hinweise und die
Einstellung Ihres Helmes. Es dient Ihrer Sicherheit und einem größtmöglichen Tragekomfort.
VERWENDUNGSZWECK
Der Feuerwehrhelm CASCO PF 112 EXTREM ist für die Brandbekämpfung in Gebäuden, für Rettungs-/
Bergungsarbeiten, für Arbeiten in Verbindung mit Verkehrsunfällen und im Allgemeinen für alle Arbeiten
vorgesehen, die in den Aufgabenbereich des Feuerwehrmanns gehören. Alle anderen Anwendungen sind
auszuschließen und entbinden CASCO von jeder Haftung.

> PF 112 EXTREM ist zugelassen nach DIN EN 443:2008 Typ A.
> Der Helm entspricht den Ansprüchen der EU-Verordnung 2016/425.
> Der Helm ist für den Einsatz im Brandcontainer und bei Innenangriffen geeignet.

EINSTELLEN DER KINNBERIEMUNG
Den Riemen mittels Gurtschloss (Abb. 2/11) schließen und die Länge über das freie Gurtende regulieren.
Der PF 112 EXTREM erfüllt die Anforderungen der Norm DIN EN 443:2008 an das Haltesystem, wenn der
vom Hersteller gelieferte Kinnriemen entsprechend der Vorschriften getragen und eingestellt ist.
EINSTELLEN DER TRAGEHÖHE
Erfolgt über Klettverschluss an der Unterseite des Tragenetzes.

EINSTELLEN DER NACKENHÖHE
Das Nackenpolster kann in der Höhe verstellt wer-
den. Durch leichtes Überdrücken, sowie auf- bzw.
abwärtsschieben, kann das Nackenpolster in der
Höhe für einen noch komfortableren Sitz ange-
passt werden. (Abb. 4).
EINSTELLEN IM STIRNBEREICH
Der komplette vordere Teil des zweiteiligen
Kopfrings kann gelöst und je nach Kopf und Stirn-
form tiefer bzw. höher wieder eingeknöpft werden
(Abb. 5).

Drehen Sie den Drehverschluss entgegen dem
Uhrzeigersinn nach links ganz auf. Setzen Sie den
Helm auf und drehen Sie den Drehverschluss im
Uhrzeigersinn nach rechts zu, bis der Helm be-
quem und fest sitzt (Abb. 3.2).
Durch Stecken der Pins in die vorderen Öffnungen
verkleinert sich der Umfang, durch Stecken der
Pins in die hinteren Öffnungen, vergrößert sich
der Umfang. Werkseitig wird die mittlere Einstel-
lung geliefert.

linken/rechten Schläfenbereich und dem im Nackenbereich befindlichen Vario-Disk-fit Drehverschlusses
(Abb. 3.2). Für das Größenspektrum: 53–64 cm wird nur eine Helmschale benötigt.
EINSTELLEN DER NACKENBERIEMUNG
Diese Einstellung erfolgt einmalig vor dem ersten Tragen. Regulieren Sie die Länge des Riemens über
den Gurtversteller (Metallschieber), bis der Riemen seitlich am Hals bequem anliegt und das Ohr nicht
verdeckt (Abb. 6.1-6.2). Der Riemen ist hinten im Helm über einen Umlenker umgelegt. Durch das Ziehen
am linken oder rechten Teil des Riemens regulieren Sie seine Länge gleichmäßig (Abb. 6.3).

Achtung! Die Schutzwirkung wird nur dann erreicht, wenn der Helm optimal sitzt, das Kopfband dem Kopfum-
fang angepasst und der Kinnriemen geschlossen ist. Tragen Sie den Helm nur, wenn er komplett montiert ist.
GEBRAUCHSDAUER
Die Helme haben eine maximale Lebensdauer – kein verbindliches Ablaufdatum. Die Länge der Nutzungsdauer
dieser Helme wird durch die Umgebung und die Umgebungsbedingungen, in denen der Helm benutzt und gelagert
sowie durch die in seiner Konstruktion verwendeten Werkstoffe beeinflusst. Die CASCO Feuerwehrhelme der PF
112 Serie besitzen eine lackierte Helmschale aus äußerst temperaturbeständigem und hochverdichtetem Fieber-
glas, welche eine hervorragende Alterungsbeständigkeit aufweist und keiner Veränderung durch das Sonnenlicht
(UV-Strahlung) unterliegt.
Die Lebensdauer dieser Helme wird hauptsächlich durch mechanische, thermische und chemische Einwirkungen
begrenzt. Das hochverdichtete Fieberglas gilt generell als sehr widerstandsfähig gegenüber diesen Belastungen.
Hinsichtlich ihrer Belastungsfähigkeit gegenüber witterungsbedingten, chemischen sowie thermischen Einwirkun-
gen sind sie deutlich leistungsfähiger als thermoplastische Materialien.
Warnhinweis: CASCO Feuerwehrhelme der PF 112 Serie haben keine verbindliche Aussonderungsfrist bzw.Ab-
lauf-/ Ablegedatum, die maximale Gebrauchsdauer hängt von den oben genannten Einwirkungen ab.
Um eine möglichst lange Gebrauchsdauer zu erzielen, sind die in der Gebrauchsanweisung beschrie-
benen Hinweise unbedingt zu beachten. Hierunter fallen insbesondere die Hinweise zu Reinigungs-,
Pflege-, Wartungs- und Instandsetzungsmaßnahmen sowie die Hinweise zur regelmäßigen Kontrol-
le der Gebrauchsfähigkeit. Bitte beachten: jeder Helm mit Innenausstattung und Zubehör muss vor und
nach jedem Einsatz auf eventuelle Beschädigungen überprüft und die Kontrolle protokolliert werden.
Sollten diese Voraussetzungen erfüllt sein, der Helm keine mechanischen, thermischen oder chemischen
Beschädigungen haben und wurden alle Hinweise der Gebrauchsanleitung eingehalten, können CASCO
Feuerwehrhelme der PF 112 Serie durchaus länger als 15 Jahre getragen werden. Da auch die stoßdämpfenden
Teile der Innenausstattung nicht sichtbaren Einflüssen ausgesetzt sind, empfehlen wir ansonsten den Helm vor-
beugend nach oben genanntem Zeitraum zu ersetzen.
KONTROLLE DER GEBRAUCHSFÄHIGKEIT
Bitte führen Sie in regelmäßigen Abständen und auch einsatzabhängig eine Kontrolle von Helmschale, Innenaus-
stattung sowie Kinnriemen durch. Ein beschädigter Helm darf nicht weiter eingesetzt werden! Er ist auszutauschen
und unbrauchbar zu machen. Der Helm nimmt die Energie eines Schlages einhergehend mit einer teilweisen
Zerstörung oder Beschädigung auf. Jeder Helm, der einem starken Aufprall ausgesetzt war, ist zu ersetzen, da die
Beschädigungen nicht immer sichtbar sind.
Auch die Lackoberfläche des Helmes ist auf Beschädigung zu überprüfen, da eine Beschädigung der Lackierung
zu einer Reduktion der Gebrauchsdauer führen kann. Kleine oberflächliche Kratzer reduzieren die Schutzwirkung
nicht. Auch bei Beschädigungen am Helm, die auf hohe thermische Einwirkungen oder direkten Kontakt mit Che-
mikalien zurückzuführen sind (z.T. erkennbar an Schaden oder farblicheVeränderung der Schalenlackierung), darf
der Helm nicht mehr eingesetzt werden.

AUFBEWAHRUNG & TRANSPORT
Schutzhelme sind kühl und trocken an einem lichtgeschützten Ort aufzubewahren. Der direkte Einfluss von

Sonnenlicht ist zu vermeiden, um einer möglichen Schädigung, u.a. der nachleuchtenden Lackierung, durch
UV-Strahlung vorzubeugen. Der Helm wird werkseitig im Einzelkarton geliefert, dieser kann zur geschützten Ver-
wahrung und für den Transport verwendet werden.
GEBRAUCH UND WARTUNG
Bitte führen Sie in regelmäßigen Abständen und auch einsatzabhängig eine Kontrolle von Scheibe und
Gelenken durch. Ein beschädigtes/zerkratztes Visier darf nicht weiter eingesetzt werden. Es ist auszu-
tauschen und unbrauchbar zu machen.
WICHTIGE HINWEISE ZU IHRER SICHERHEIT
Der Schutz, den ein Helm gibt, hängt von den Umständen eines Unfalls ab, wobei das Tragen eines Helmes nicht
immer einen tödlichen Unfall oder längere Invalidität verhindern kann. Tragen Sie den Helm immer in der richtigen
Position und vergegenwärtigen Sie sich, dass kein Helm den Halsbereich oder ungeschützte Stellen des Kopfes
schützen kann. Dieser Helm ist ausschließlich für den Gebrauch bei der Feuerwehr, im Rettungs- und Katastro-
phenschutz zugelassen. Er ist nicht für Sport und Motorradfahren zugelassen.
Warnhinweis: Bitte beachten Sie, dass die Sicherheit beim getragenen Helm nur dann gegeben ist, wenn er
vollständig montiert, korrekt aufgesetzt ist und dass abnehmbare Teile nicht gesondert getragen werden dürfen.

VERWENDUNG DER ATEMSCHUTZMASKE
Bitte beachten Sie, dass diese Innenausstattung
perfekt für eine Verwendung mit Atemschutzmaske
geeignet ist. Diese muss nicht extra bestellt werden.
Durch die abgewinkelte Form des Kopfbandes passt
die Atemschutzmaske optimal in den Helm (Abb. 11).

Wie aus diesem Bild ersichtlich, ist der von diesem Visier gebotene Schutz gegen Strahlungswärme von der
Temperatur der Wärmequelle abhängig. Das Visier sollte nur in solchen Situationen eingesetzt werden, in
denen es die Exposition des Auges des Trägers auf weniger als 100 W/m
2
reduzieren kann.

AUSTAUSCH VON TEILEN
Alle Bauteile Ihres Helmes wurden so konstruiert, dass ein leichtes Auswechseln ohne spezielles Werk-
zeug möglich ist, dafür können die Stirn- und Seitenpolster zur einfachen Reinigung oder zum Austausch
entnommen werden. Die Trageeinrichtung kann ebenso komplett durch Lösen der Sicherungsschrauben
(Abb.2/10) ausgewechselt werden. CASCO bietet für die PF 112 Serie eine Vielzahl an Zubehör und Ersatz-
teilen an, bitte informieren Sie sich bei CASCO über die aktuelle Auswahl.

REINIGUNG UND PFLEGE
Helmschale und Innenausstattung nur mit lauwarmem Seifenwasser reinigen. Die Innenausstattung des Helms
kann auch mit Desinfektionsmittel/ antibakteriellem Helmspray (z.B. CASCO Helmerfrischer) behandelt werden.
Keine Lösungsmittel verwenden. Die sachgemäße Reinigung, Pflege und Behandlung des Schutzhelmes ist
Voraussetzung für seine einwandfreie Funktion.
VERÄNDERUNGEN AM HELM
Achtung! Ihr Helm entspricht in seiner serienmäßigen Ausführung den geltenden Normen und darf
deshalb nicht verändert oder mit fremden Bauteilen bestückt werden. Der Austausch von Einzel-
teilen ist nur zulässig, wenn diese typgleich mit den Einzelteilen des typgeprüften Helms sind, oder
von CASCO speziell für einen Austausch freigegeben sind. Warnhinweis: Beim Tragen eines wei-
teren Teiles von persönlicher Schutzausrüstung oder von Zubehör (ausgenommen vom Hersteller
für den Gebrauch mit diesem Helm geliefertes Zubehör) kann ein als übereinstimmend mit EN 443
gekennzeichneter Helm möglicherweise nicht mehr allen Abschnitten dieser Norm gerecht werden.
Auf entsprechende durch den Helmhersteller anzugebende Informationen ist Bezug zu nehmen.
GARANTIE
Auf Ihren Helm gewähren wir 24 Monate Garantie, bei bestimmungsgemäßem Gebrauch, für Material- oder
Herstellungsfehler. CASCO repariert, ersetzt oder schreibt gut nach eigenem Ermessen. Voraussetzung für die
Inanspruchnahme der Garantieleistungen ist die Zusendung des Helmes frei Haus. Der Helm darf nicht vom
Originalzustand abweichen und/oder durch unsachgemäßen Gebrauch beschädigt sein.

Thank you for choosing a CASCO helmet. The CASCO firefighters’ helmet from the PF 112 range has been
developed in Germany specifically for increased thermal load. Firefighters’ helmets are personal protec-
tive equipment (PPE category 3: helmets for use in hot environments of 100 °C and above, with or without
infra-red radiation, flames or large jets of melted material) and contribute to preventing head injuries, or at
least significantly minimising them. Please take time to read the following information and to adjust your
helmet. This is for your safety and maximum comfort.
PURPOSE OF USE
The CASCO PF 112 EXTREM firefighters‘ helmet is intended for firefighting in buildings, for rescue/
salvage work, for work connected with traffic accidents and in general, for all work that falls into
firefighters‘ remit. It should not be used for any other purpose, and CASCO does not accept any
liability.

NECK HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
The neck cushion height is also adjustable. By light-
ly applying excess pressure whilst pushing the neck
cushion up or down, the neck cushion height can be
more comfortably re-positioned (Fig.4).
FOREHEAD ADJUSTMENT
The whole of the front section of the two-part head
ring can be released and re-adjusted up or down
according to head size and forehead shape (Fig. 5).

Turn the dial lock anti-clockwise until the head band
is fully open. Put the helmet on and turn the dial lock
clockwise until the helmet is sitting comfortably and
firmly (Fig. 3.2).
By placing the pin in the front opening, the size is
reduced, by placing the pin in the back opening, the
size is enlarged. Helmets are delivered ex-factory in
the mid-size position.

HEAD SIZE ADJUSTMENT
The head ring can be adjusted to the correct head size by means of the 4 adjustable pin settings in the left/
right temple area and the Vario-Disk-fit turning clasp in the neck (Fig. 3.1). For the size spectrum: 53–64 cm
only one helmet shell size is needed (Fig. 3.2).
NECK STRAP ADJUSTMENT
This is a one-off adjustment to be carried out before initial wear. Adjust the length of the strap above the ad-
justment mechanism (metal slide buckle), until the strap is comfortably positioned against the neck without
covering the ear (Fig. 6.1-6.2). The strap is fed through the back of the helmet by means of diffuser from
within. By pulling down on the left or right strap section, the strap length can be evenly regulated (Fig. 6.3).

ADJUSTING THE CHIN STRAP
Fasten the strap with the buckle (Fig. 2/11) and regulate the length using the free end of the strap. The PF 112
EXTREM fulfils the requirements of the standard DIN EN 443:2008 in respect of the retention system provided
that the chin strap supplied by the manufacturer is worn and adjusted in accordance with the regulations.

SERVICE LIFE
The helmets have a maximum service life with no binding expiry date. The service life of these helmets is
influenced by the environment and environmental conditions in which the helmet is used and stored, as
well as the materials used in its construction. This CASCO PF 112 firefighting helmet series is equipped
with an EXTREMly temperature resistant coated shell of highly compressed fiberglass which offers out-
standing durability and is not affected by sunlight (UV rays).
The service life of these helmets is mainly limited by mechanical, thermal and chemical factors.The highly
compressed fibreglass is generally held to be EXTREMly durable against such pressures. The helmets‘
load capacity when faced with weather-related, chemical and thermal factors, shows a considerably bet-
ter performance than thermoplastic materials.
Warning: The CASCO PF 112 helmet series does not have a binding discard or expiry date, the maximum
service life is dependent on the above-mentioned factors.
In order to achieve a long service life, the instructions for use must be applied. This especially covers
cleaning and maintenance, care and repair measures and advice on how to carry out regular damage
checks. Please note: Every helmet equipped with interior construction and accessories must be checked
for possible damage before and after every use and these checks be documented. If these prerequisites
have been fulfilled and the helmet shows no indication of mechanical, thermal or chemical damage
and if all instructions for use have been followed, CASCO PF 112 series firefighting helmets can easily
be worn for longer than 15 years. Since the shock-absorption parts of the interior construction are not
overtly subject to external influences, we recommend preventative helmet replacement after the above-
mentioned time period.
CHECKING THE SERVICEABILITY
Please carry out an inspection of the helmet shell, internal fittings and chin strap at regular and also
deployment-dependent intervals. A damaged helmet may no longer be used! It must be rendered un-
usable and replaced. The helmet absorbs the energy of an impact accompanied by partial destruction
or damage. Any helmet which has been subjected to a heavy impact must be replaced as the resultant
damage is not always visible.
The painted surface of the helmet should also be checked for damage, as damage to the paintwork can
lead to a reduction in its lifespan. Small surface scratches do not reduce the protective effect. If the helmet
becomes damaged as a result of high thermal effects or direct contact with chemicals (i.e. recognisable
damage, or changes in the colour of the helmet shell), the helmet may no longer be used.

STORAGE & TRANSPORTATION
Protective helmets are to be stored away from sunlight in a cool, dry spot. Avoid direct exposure to sun-
light to prevent possible damage through UV rays to the luminescent paintwork, for example. The helmet

Attention! The protective effect is only achieved when the helmet is ideally positioned, the head band
adapted to the head girth and the chin strap fastened. Only wear the helmet when it is fully assembled.

intervals. A damaged /scratched visor may no longer be used. It must be rendered unusable and replaced.
INFORMATION IMPORTANT TOYOURSAFETY
The protection provided by the helmet depends on the circumstances of the accident whereby the wearing
of a helmet cannot always prevent a fatal accident or extended invalidity. Always wear the helmet in the
correct position and bring to mind that no helmet can guard the neck area or the unprotected parts of the
head. This helmet is approved solely for use by the fire brigade, in rescue and disaster control. It is not
approved for sport and motorcycling.
Warning: Please note that helmet wearing safety can only then be ensured when it has been
fully assembled and correctly fitted, and that removable parts cannot be worn separately.

MOUNTING THE FLASHLIGHT
A torch holder can optionally be fixed to the helmet
adaptor (right and/or left) (Fig. 10).

USE OF RESPIRATORY MASK
Please note that the interior construction is per-
fectly suited for use with a respiratory mask. There
is no need to order this separately. The angled form
of the head band allows the respiratory mask an
optimum fit within the helmet (Fig. 11).

TRANSMISSION FACTOR TO DIN EN 14458:2004
As can be seen from this illustration, the protection against radiated heat offered by this visor is dependant
on the temperature of the heat source. The visor should only be used in those situations where it can
reduce exposure of the wearer‘s eyes to less than 100 W/m².

CHANGING PARTS
All the parts of your helmet have been constructed in a way that enables easy changing without a special
tool; the forehead and side pads can be taken out for easy cleaning or changing parts. The supporting
equipment can likewise be replaced in its entirety by undoing the safety screws (Fig. 2/10). CASCO offers
a variety of accessories and spare parts for the PF 112 series, please contact CASCO for information
regarding its current selection.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Only clean helmet shell and interior with lukewarm soapy water. The interior of the helmet can
also be treated with disinfectant (e.g. CASCO helmet freshener). Do not use solvents. The sa-
fety helmet must be cleaned, maintained and handled properly so that it will function perfectly.
ALTERATIONS TO THE HELMET
Attention! In its standard design, your helmet complies with the applicable standards and may not,
therefore, be altered or fitted with non-original parts. The replacement of individual parts is only permitted
where these are of an identical type to the individual parts of the type-tested helmet or have been speci-
fically approved for replacement by CASCO. Warning: When wearing another item of personal protection
or accessories (with the exception of accessories supplied by the manufacturer for use with this helmet),
a helmet marked as being EN 443 compliant may possibly no longer comply with all sections of this
standard. Reference is to be made to the appropriate information as stated by the helmet manufacturer.
GUARANTEE
We guarantee your helmet for 24 months during proper use against material or manufacturing faults.
CASCO shall repair, replace or credit the value at its own discretion. Prerequisite for making a claim
against the guarantee is the return of the helmet carriage paid. The helmet may not deviate from its
original state and/or be damaged due to improper use.

CO de la série PF 112 ont été développés en Allemagne pour répondre spécialement à des contraintes
thermiques accrues. Les casques de pompiers font partie des équipements de protection individuelle
(catégorie EPI 3 : casques d’intervention en environnement très chaud de 100 °C et plus, avec ou sans
rayonnement infrarouge, flammes ou projections importantes de matières fondues) ; ils contribuent à

RÉGLAGE DE LA HAUTEUR DE NUQUE
Le coussin de nuque est réglable en hauteur. En
appuyant légèrement dessus et en le faisant glisser
vers le haut ou vers le bas, le coussin de nuque peut
être réglé en hauteur pour un ajustement encore
plus confortable (Fig.4).
RÉGLAGE AU NIVEAU DU FRONT
La totalité de l‘avant des deux parties de l‘anneau
de tête peut être desserrée et reboutonnée, en
fonction de la forme de la tête et du front, soit de
manière plus ajustée ou plus haut (Fig. 5).

Effectuer une rotation dans le sens opposé au
sens horaire en tournant vers la gauche. Mettre le
casque sur la tête et effectuer une rotation dans le
sens horaire, vers la droite jusqu’à ce que le casque
soit en bonne position, qu’il maintienne bien tout en
étant confortable (Fig. 3.2).
En insérant les rivets dans les ouvertures situées à
l‘avant, on diminue la circonférence; en insérant les
rivets dans les ouvertures à l‘arrière, on augmente
la circonférence. À leur sortie d‘usine, ils sont livrés
avec une position de réglage intermédiaire.

RÉGLAGE DU TOUR DE TÊTE
L‘ajustement de l‘anneau de tête (Fig. 3.1) à la taille de votre tête s‘effectue au moyen de rivets réglables su
4 niveaux situés au niveau des tempes gauche / droite et de la fermeture rotative Vario-Disk-Fit située dans la
région de la nuque (Fig.3.2). Pour la gamme de taille:de 53 à 64 cm, une seule coque de casque est nécessaire.
RÉGLAGE DE LA SANGLE DE PROTECTION DE LA NUQUE
Ce réglage s‘effectue avant de le porter. Régler la longueur de la sangle sur le dispositif d‘ajustement (cou-
lisseau métallique), jusqu‘à ce que la sangle soit ajustée confortablement sur le côté du cou et ne couvre
pas l‘oreille (Fig. 6.1 à 6.2). La sangle est repliée à l‘arrière du casque par l‘intermédiaire d‘une boucle
coulissante. En tirant sur la partie gauche ou droite de la sangle, vous pouvez en ajuster la longueur de
manière symétrique (Fig. 6.3).

REGLAGE DE LA JUGULAIRE
Fermer la sangle par sa boucle (fig. 2/11) et ajuster sa longueur par l‘extrémité libre de la sangle. La PF 112
EXTREM satisfait aux exigences de la norme DIN EN 443:2008 relatives au système de fixation, á condition
que la jugulaire livrée par le fabricant soit portée et ajustée conformément aux directives.
