This cordless solution is very easy to use with a little training. You
can do many of the functions that are available on a full desktop
phone utilizing feature access codes (FAC.)
Get a cordless phone
You can use any consumer grade cordless phone. It may be a digital
phone, but it for a standard phone line or POTS (Plain Ordinary
Telephone Service.) You are
responsible for purchasing
the cordless telephone. The
best case is to avoid a cordless
phone with a built in answering
machine. This can interrupt
Masergy services from working
properly.
You may or may not have these
features based on the phone
you choose.
•One to two lines. (needs Masergy conguraon.)
•Headset jack
•Speaker phone
•Mute buon
•Adjustable Volume
•Oponal or uploadable ring tones
Setup the cordless phone
Follow the manufacturer recommendations for setup and charging instructions.
Setup the ATA
If you get the ATA from Masergy, it will come preconfigured to work on a DHCP enabled network.

Connect using enclosed instructions.
• Ethernet to router or wall jack.
• Phone line to phone.
• Lastly Power supply to outlet.
We will refer to your cordless phone in this document as
phone.
You may use this phone as your only phone. This setup is called Standard Use .
OR
You may have a full desk phone that shares the same number as your cordless phone. This setup is
called Shared Call Appearance (SCA) The Soundpoint IP Polycom desk phone will be referred to as
Polycom phone.
Orientaon
The phone you have may vary. But it will have two or three buttons that we will refer to in this
guide. Please find them on your phone.
1. There is usually a hang up, end, or off button.
2. There is an answer, on, or talk button.
3. There is a flash button. Talk and Flash may be the same physical button.
Depending on display size and phone settings, you may not see the Call Waiting Caller ID. (Check
manufacturer guide .)
