INTRODUCTION
This manual describes the disassembly, reassembly, and maintenance procedures of PMU2300III Series.
1. DISASSEMBLY AND REASSEMBLY
Note the following items when performing maintenance of the printer.
•Do not disassemble, reassemble, or adjust the printer unnecessarily when the printer operation is
satisfactory.
•Do not loosen the screws that fasten the components unless it is absolutely necessary.
•After finishing inspection, perform a check to ensure that there is no irregularity before turning on the
printer.
•Use caution not to leave any part or screw used for maintenance inside the printer.
•When handling the print head and electronic components, care must be taken to avoid static electricity.
•When disassembling or reassembling the printer, check the wires and cords for damage. Do not draw
any wire or cord by force.
•Lubricate the components as necessary when reassembling them.

1-2-1. Disassembling “Board Main”
1. Removing “Cover, IF Board”
1. Remove “Screw, PHT (ST), M3 ×6”.
2. Slide “Cover, IF Board” in the direction of the arrow to remove it.
2. Removing “UNIT, Guide Paper Rear”
1. Remove two “Screw, PHT (ST), M3 ×6” and then “UNIT, Guide Paper Rear”.

Board” into hooks. Be careful not to cause cables to
get caught.

1. Remove connectors.

2. Remove four “Screw, PHT (ST), M3 ×6” and then “Main PCB”.
* When reassembling, insert CN102
straightly in the correct orientation.
* When reassembling, insert CN107
in the correct orientation.

1-2-2. Disassembling “BEZEL ASSY” (SB Specification)
1. Removing “BEZEL ASSY”
1. Remove four “Screw, PHT (ST#3), M2 ×5” and remove “BEZEL ASSY” from “AUTO CUTTER”.
2. Cut the cable tie that secures cables to the side frame, and remove “BEZEL ASSY".
2. Removing “HOLDER, FLAG”
1. Remove two “Screw, PHT (PT2T), M2 ×4” and remove “HOLDER, FLAG” from “BEZEL”.
2. Remove “E-RING, 1.5” that fastens “FLAG, SENSOR” and remove “FLAG, SENSOR” from
“HOLDER, FLAG”.

3. Removing “SA, SENSOR”
1. Remove two “SPONGE, BEZEL” that fasten “SA, SENSOR” and remove “SA, BOARD BEZEL”
from “BEZEL”.

When reassembling, align “SA,
BOARD BEZEL” with the right and
left grooves at “BEZEL”.
Disconnect “SA, LED CABLE”
from the connector.
SA, BOARD LED
When reassembling, move “SPONGE,
BEZEL” inwardly so that “SA, BOARD
LED” will not be raised.

1-2-3. Disassembling “BEZEL PRESENTER ASSY” (PB Specification)
1. Removing “BEZEL ASSY”
1. Remove two “Screw, PHT (ST), M3 ×6” and remove “BEZEL PRESENTER ASSY” from
“PRESENTER UNIT”.
2. Cut the cable tie that secures cables to the side face of “SA, Chassis”. Detach the cables from
the hook on “COVER, GEAR” and remove “BEZEL PRESENTER ASSY”.
2. Removing “PLATE, BEZEL”
1. Remove two “Screw, PHT (BT), M3 ×8” and remove “BEZEL, PRESENTER” from “PLATE,
BEZEL”.
When reassembling, check that the bosses
at “BEZEL PRESENTER ASSY” are securely
fitted with the holes at “PRESENTER UNIT”.

3. Removing “SA, SENSOR”
1. Remove “HOLDER, LED” and two “SPONGE, BEZEL”, and remove “SA, SENSOR” from
“BEZEL, PRESENTER”.
1-2-4. Disassembling “PRESENTER ASSY” (PN or PB Specification)
1. Removing “PRESENTER ASSY”
1. Remove two “Screw, PHT (ST), M3 ×6” from each of “PLATE, SIDE R” and “PLATE, SIDE L”,
respectively, and remove “PRESENTER ASSY”.
2. Insert a screwdriver into the notch on the right and left at “SA, Chassis” to disengage the boss.
Remove “PRESENTER ASSY” from “PLATE, SIDE R” and “PLATE, SIDE L”.
* Be careful not to deform “SA, Chassis” when disengaging the bosses.

2. Removing “UNIT, COVER”
1. Remove “SCREW, COVER PLATE”.
2. Move “UNIT, COVER” in the direction of the arrow to unlatch it, and pull it out upwardly.
3. Removing “MOTOR, PRESENTER”
1. Remove “SCREW, PHT, M2 ×3”, and move “GEAR, COVER” in the direction of the arrow to
remove it from “SA, Chassis”.
2. Remove two “SCREW, PHT, M2 ×3”, and remove “MOTOR, PRESENTER” from “SA,
Chassis”.

4. Removing “SA, SENSOR”
1. Remove two “SCREW, PHT, M2 ×3” and remove “HOLDER, PCB SENSOR” and “SA,
SENSOR”.
2. Draw out “SA, SENSOR” through the hole on the side of “SA, Chassis”.
5. Removing “SA, PF SHAFT”
1. Remove “E-RING, 3.0” from “SA, PF SHAFT”.
2. Remove “BUSHING, CR SHAFT R” from the side of “SA, Chassis” in the direction of the arrow
and pull out “SA, PF SHAFT”.

When reassembling, align the hole at

6. Removing “GUIDE, PLATE MIDDLE”
1. Disengage the bosses at “SA, Chassis”, and remove “GUIDE, PLATE MIDDLE”.
When reassembling, align the holes
with the hooks at the right and left.

1. Removing “GUIDE, FRONT” (SB Specification)
1. Remove two “Screw, PHT (ST), M3 ×6” and remove “GUIDE, FRONT” from “HOLDER2,
PLATEN UNIT”.
2. Removing “GUIDE, ROLLER FRONT ASSY” (PN or PB Specification)
1. Remove two “Screw, PHT (ST), M3 ×6” and remove “GUIDE, ROLLER FRONT ASSY” from
“HOLDER2, PLATEN UNIT”.
3. Removing “PLATE, SIDE R” and “PLATE, SIDE L” (PN or PB Specification)
1. Remove two “Screw, PHT (ST), M3 ×6” form each of “PLATE, SIDE R” and “PLATE, SIDE L”,
respectively, and remove them from “FRAME 1”.

4. Removing “FRAME IF BOARD”
1. Remove two “Screw, PHT (ST), M3 ×6” and remove “FRAME IF BOARD” from “FRAME 1”.
5. Removing “PLATEN ASSY”
1. Remove “Screw, PHT (ST), M3 ×6” from the right and left, respectively, and remove “PLATEN
ASSY” from “FRAME 1”.
2. Remove “Screw, PHT (BT), M3 ×8” and remove “HOLDER2, PLATEN UNIT” from “PLATEN
HOLDER”.
When reassembling, in the case where oblong
and round holes are provided, insert the screw
into the round hole (reference hole) first.

1-2-6. Disassembling “UNIT, MECHANISM”
1. Removing “FRAME 1”
1. Remove two “Screw, PHT (ST), M3 ×6” and remove “FRAME 1” from “PLATE PRINTER”.
2. Removing “PLATE PRINTER”
1. Pull the FFC cable out of “UNIT, MECHANISM”.
2. Cut the cable tie and remove filament tapes at the right and left.
When reassembling, insert the
lugs at “FRAME 1” into the
notches at “PLATE PRINTER”.
When reassembling, be careful not to
cause the FFC cable to get caught.

When reassembling, fully
insert the FFC cable in the
correct orientation.

When reassembling, do not attach filament
tapes out of “PLATE, PRINTER”.
When reassembling, locate the protruded
section of the cable tie outwardly.
When reassembling, hang motor
cables to the lug and secure them
with a piece of tape. Check that a
black tube is attached to the lug.

3. Remove two “Screw, PHT (ST), M3 ×6” and remove “PLATE PRINTER” from “UNIT,
MECHANISM”.
3. Removing “AUTO CUTTER”
1. Remove two “SCREW, No. 00, TFH (ST), M3 ×6 (Thin head)” from both sides.
2. Remove “AUTO CUTTER” while pulling “CUTTER BK” outwardly.
* Be careful not to deform “Cutter BK” by pulling it excessively outward.
When reassembling, insert the lugs
at “PLATE PRINTER” into the
notches at “UNIT, MECHANISM”.
