CAUTIONS

Equippedwithuniquevalvemechanism,CKDHeatlessDryersaresimpleinstructure
andhaveexcellentdryingefficiency.
Intheleft-hand-sidefigure,solenoidvalve(F)is
closedwhilevalve(D)isopen.Thewetcompressed
airfrominletpassesthroughdesiccanttube(A)and
getsdried.Mostofthisdryairflowsouttooutlet,
whileasmallquantitypassesthroughorifice(B)for
pressurereductionbeforeflowingintodesiccant
tube (C). Here, the wet desiccant is removed of
moisturebeforepassingthroughsolenoidvalve(D)
and finally being discharged to the atmosphere.

Intheleft-hand-sidefigure,thetimerkeepsboth
ofthesolenoidvalve(D)and(F)closedduringthe
stationarystage.Here,theairfromdesiccanttube
(A)flowsintodesiccanttube(C)throughorifice
(B),virtuallybalancingthepressuresin(A)and
(C).
Thesolenoidvalve(F)isopenedbythetimer,but
since(D)remainsclosed,thepressureindesiccant
tube(A)dropsimmediately,causingballchecks(E)
and(G)tomakeaquickshiftrightward.
Thisclosestube(A),andturnsthemaincurrentof
compressedairtotube(C),wheretheairisdried.
Apartofthecompressedairpassesthroughorifice
(H)forpressurereductionbeforeflowingintotube
(A), where the desiccant is removed of moisture
beforebeingdischargedtotheatmospherethrough
solenoidvalve(F).(Regenerativepurging)

DESCRIPTIONOFFUNCTION

3-1) Seetoitthattheambienttemperatureis-1〜52℃.
3-2) Provideaspaceofapproximately500mmatthetop,bottomandfrontin
order to enable the replacement of desiccant tube, solenoid
valve,etc.convenient.
3-3) Installaregulator,filterandMicroalescerintheprimarysideinorder
toupkeeptheperformanceofdesiccant.Installthefilteralsointhe
secondaryside.(See“InstallationDrawing”onpage4.)
3-4) Installpipestotheinletandoutletofheatlessairdryer,takingduecare
thattheremisnoleakage.
3-5) Connectthepowersourceaccordingtotheplateontheheatlessairdryer.
3-6) Connectagroundtothegroundingterminaloftheheatlessairdryerleft
side.(screwsize:M4)
3-7) Atthetimeofmaintenanceandcheck,installaby-passcircuitwithastop
valveiftheflowinsidethepipecannotbeshutoff.(See“Installation
Drawing”onpage4.)
3-8) Installplugstotheinletandoutletnotinuseinordertoavoidleakage.
4-1) Turnonthepowersourceofheatlessairdryeronlyafterapplyingpressure.
Turning on the power source before applying pressure (particularly at
pressurelessthan0.2MPa)maydeterioratethefunctionofballcheck,
causingexcessivelyhighrateofregenerativepurgingatthebeginning.
4-2) Theoutletflowrateextremelyexceedingthespecifiedvaluemaydeteriorate
thefunctionofballcheck,leadingtoexcessivelyhighrateofregenerative
purging.Henceduecareshallbepaidtothisregard.
4-3) Thedesiccant,notusedoveralongperiod(approximatelyoneweek),mayhave
becomewet.Insuchcase,stopthesecondaryvalveofheatlessairdryer
andcarryoutregenerativepurgingforabout30minutesbeforeoperation.
4-4) Theregenerativepurgingissettochangeoverfromlefttorightandvice
versaevery30seconds(every2minutesinthecaseofHD-6andHD-9).Make
surethatthechange-overismadeproperlyasspecified.
4-5) Replacementofdesiccant
Thedesiccanttowerconsistsofspring,desiccant,poroussheet,filter,
etc,andisinstalledtothemainbody.RefertoLESTOFSPAREonpage12
forreplacementofdesiccant.However,replacementshallbemadeevery1.5
〜2years.
Executeitaccordingtothefollowingnoteswhenyouremovethedesiccant
tower.

Donotgripitinthesizeshown(15mm,10mm)inarightpicturewhenyouturn
thelowersideofthetowergrippingit. Thereisapossibilitythatairleaks
whenexcessivepowerisaddedbecausethereisOring.
4-6) Replacementofsolenoidvalve
The standard replacement period for solenoid valve is approximately 2
years.Replacebyremovingthecoverofheatlessairdryer.
