Congratulaons on purchasing the Clint® F3.
We trust that this product will give you hours of listening pleasure,
and provide years of unparalleled performance. As with any new
electrical product please be paent and allow 36 hours of use
before all components have acclimazed themselves with your

aer 20 minutes (approximately) of inacvity. Press the SLEEP /
buon to wake the unit.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
To clean the F3 radio, wipe the case with a slightly moist, lint-free cloth.
Do not use any cleaning fluids containing alcohol, ammonia or abrasives.
Do not spray an aerosol at or near the radio. Always use original
packaging if it is necessary to transport the unit at any me. If this unit
is used in a dusty environment, it may be necessary to have the unit
serviced at your local dealer periodically. It is not advisable to allow
large deposits of dust to accumulate within the unit as it may prevent
adequate cooling. Similarly dust deposits which become damp can
somemes lead to electrical problems which may cause severe damage
to the delicate electronics within this unit.

GENERAL OPERATION
1a Mains Adaptor (supplied with the package)
Connect the mains adaptor to the DC power socket on the rear of the
radio.
1b Baery (not supplied)
Open the baery door and insert 6 x “AA” size baeries.
NOTE: Insert baeries correctly. Pay aenon to the +/- polaries
When le unused for long period of me using baery power, it is
advised to switch the power to the OFF posion to avoid baery
drainage in STANDBY mode.
2. Extend the telescopic aerial as far as it can go.
3. Slide the Power ON/OFF switch to ON to turn on the radio.
The radio will automacally tune and operate the quick scan.
During scan mode, the LCD will display a slide bar that indicates the
progress of the scan, and the amount of radio staons that have been
found so far. Once the scan has finished, the radio will select the first
alphanumeric staon.
NOTE: The name of the found group of DAB+ radio staons will be
displayed on the boom half of the display.

When you power up the radio again, the radio plays the same mode
(DAB or FM) as the last operaon.
If you hear no sound, then press the “VOL +” control unl you reach a
desired level. If the volume is too high, then press the “VOL -” control
to decrease the volume level.
To listen the staons that have been stored press either / buons
to cycle through. Each me you press the / buons you will skip
to the next or previous stored staon. The radio will switch to display
the staon name.
Press the “SLEEP/ ” buon for 2 seconds to turn off the radio
whenever it is on.
Memory
DAB+ OPERATION
1 Storing staons
it is possible to store up to 10 of your favorite staons to the preset
keys. This will enable you to access your favorite staons quickly &
easily.
To store a preset, you must first be listening to the staon that you
would like to save, press & hold the PRESET buon for 2 seconds.
The LCD will then show the following.

2 Recalling a stored staon
Once you have saved a staon to one of the preset buons, you can
recall by pressing the PRESET buon. Then use the / buons to
select the desired preset staon. Once selected press the ENTER
buon to acvate.
If you choose a preset that has not been allocated a staon, then
“Preset Empty” will be displayed.
Alternavely you can use the preset buons, press one of the buons
to use the first digit preset ie:- 1-6 will be 1. To use the preset 6 press
and hold the 1-6 buon.
3 Display modes
Every me you press the “INFO/MENU” buon, the display will cycle
through the following display modes: The informaon is displayed on
the lower segment of the LCD display.

Use the / buons to choose the preset number from 1-10 you
wish to use. Then press the ENTER buon to store.

4 DLS (Dynamic Label Segment)
Dynamic label segment is a scrolling message that the broadcaster
may include with their transmissions. This message usually includes
informaon, such as program detail etc.
5 Program type
This describes the “Style” or “genre” of music that is being broadcast
e.g. “Rock“ or “Classical”.
6 Ensemble/Mulplex (Group name)
A mulplex/ensemble is a collecon of radio staons that are bundled
and transmied on one frequency. There are naonal and local
mulplexes. Local ones contain.
NOTE: DAB – unlike normal radio, groups together several radio
staons and transmits them on one frequency.
7 Time & Date
The me & date can be set automacally from the DAB broadcast or
set manually.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the <Autoscan> opon appears press either or and find
<System>.
3. Press the ENTER buon, use the / to find <Time> and press
ENTER.
Inside the <Time> menu there are several opons. <Set 12/24 Hour>,
<Set Time/Date> & <Auto Update>, <Set Date Format>.

<Set 12/24 Hour>: Use the / buons to select 12 or 24 hour and
then press the ENTER buon to acvate.
<Set Time/Date>: When acvated and the Hour digit flashes, use the
/ buons to set the digit to the correct hour then press ENTER,
repeat for the minutes again pressing ENTER when set. The process
for seng the date is exactly the same as the above. Press ENTER to
finalize the seng once complete.
<Auto Update>: Use the / buons to cycle through the various
opons for auto seng the me & date. These range from: <Update
from any>, < Update from DAB>, < Update from FM> and <No Update>.
<Set Date Format>: Use the / buons to cycle through the various
opons for seng the format of date. There are <DD-MM-YYYY>,
<MM-DD-YYYY>.
NOTE: When the power is switched OFF ( not standby ) the sengs
will be lost.
8 Alarm Seng
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the <Autoscan> opon appears press either or and find
<System>.
3. Press the ENTER buon, use the / to find <Alarm> and press
ENTER.
Alarm Setup
Press the ENTER buon to iniate the setup process.
1. Use the / buons to select Alarm ON or OFF then press ENTER
to acvate.

2. Use the / buons to set the Alarm ON hour digits. Press ENTER
to set.
3. Set the Minute digits the same way and press ENTER once set.
4. Choose the source of the alarm between BUZZER, DAB & FM using
the / buons.
If you choose DAB or FM the next step is to choose the staon you
want to play when the alarm sounds. There is a choice of Last staon
listened to, or a preset ( if any stored ).
5. There is the opon to only have the alarm acvate on WEEKDAYS,
DAILY, ONCE and WEEKENDS. Choose which you require using the
/ buons. The ENTER buon stores the seng.
6. The next step is to set the volume level you require. Use the /
buons to set and press ENTER to acvate the alarm.
7. To disable the alarm return to the <Alarm> screen and use the /
buons to choose OFF and press ENTER to save.
8. To silence the alarm when sounding press the ENTER buon.
If you do not press the ENTER buon, the alarm will close
automacally aer an hour.
You can press and hold the SLEEP / buon for 3 seconds to
silence the alarm.
NOTE: In standby the alarm icon will display when acvated.

9 Snooze Mode
When the alarm sounds ( in BUZZER mode ) you can press the
SLEEP / buon to acvate the SNOOZE mode and delay the
alarm for 5 minutes.
When you enter the SNOOZE mode, you can choose different
SNOOZE me period. Each me you press the SLEEP/ buon, the
me period would be 5, 10, 15, 30 mins.
10 Scan modes
1. To perform an AUTO SCAN, press and hold the INFO/MENU buon
for 3 seconds.
2. When the <Autoscan> opon appears press the ENTER buon.
Manual Tuning
As well as an auto tune funcon, you can manually tune the receiver.
This can help you when aligning your aerial or when adding staons
that where missed while auto tuning.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the < Autoscan > opon appears press either or and find
<Manual Tune> then press the ENTER buon.
3. Use the / buons to cycle through the DAB channels, which are
numbered from 5A to 13F.
4. Now press the ENTER buon to enter the current ensemble/
mulplex, the top line will now display the first staon in the
ensemble/mulplex.
Then press the ENTER buon to listen to this first staon and enter
to the playback interface.

5. To see what staons are present in the found ensemble/mulplex,
just press either or buons. When you’ve located a staon that
you would like to listen to, just press the ENTER buon.
6. Once you have reached the last staon in the found ensemble, it
will revert back to the first staon again. If you wish to exit the
manual tuning mode, just press the ENTER buon.
11 Pruning
When the radio has performed a Scan in several locaons you may
find there are stored staons that you can no longer receive. This
funcon automacally removes them from the stored staon list.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the < Autoscan > opon appears press either or the
ENTER buon.
3. Use the or buons to select YES or NO and press ENTER to
select.
12 DRC ( Dynamic Range Control )
This causes the radio to reduce the dynamic range of the audio signal.
The purpose of this is to adapt the dynamic range of the audio signal
to listening in a noisy environment.
NOTE: this is not available on many DAB staons.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the < Autoscan> opon appears press either or the
ENTER buon.
3. Choose between DRC off, DRC High and DRC Low.

2 Storing staons
The operaon for FM is the same as DAB. See Page 8.
3 Recalling a stored staon
The operaon for FM is the same as DAB. See Page 9.
4 Display modes
Every me you press the “INFO/MENU” buon, the display will cycle
through the following display modes: The informaon is displayed on
the lower segment of the LCD display.
5 Program type

e.g. “Rock “or “Classical”.
FM OPERATION
4. Press ENTER to save the seng.
1 Switching from DAB to FM
Press the DAB/FM buon once to switch. The display will show FM
Mode.
Once acvated the radio will automacally tune to the nearest
available staon.

6 Programme Name
Staon name ( if broadcast ). Frequency of the staon if no name is
broadcast.
7 Audio Mode (Stereo/Mono)
Denotes if the broadcast is in Stereo or Mono.
To specify that a staon can be only played in mono or that stereo is
allowed.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the <Scan Seng> opon appears press either or and
fin <Audio Seng>, press the ENTER buon.
3. Use the or buons to cycle through the 2 opons <Forced
Mono> or <Stereo Allowed>. Press ENTER to select.
Stereo allowed: Means any staon broadcast in stereo with a strong
enough signal will be played in stereo.
Mono only: Plays ALL staons in mono regardless of the availability
of a stereo signal.
8 Time
Displays the current me. Please see Page 10 for seng.
9 Date
Displays the current date. Please see Page 10 for seng.
10 Radio Text
Displays scrolling text broadcast by the staon ( only if broadcast ).

11 Scan Modes
Auto Scan
The Auto scan seng will scan up or down depending on where the
starng frequency is. Once it finds a staon it will stop.
There are 2 opons to use when using this funcon.
NOTE: Ensure you are in the FM mode before following the below
steps.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the < Scan Seng > opon appears, press the ENTER buon.
3. You will have the choice of either <Strong Staons Only> or
<All Staons> using the or buons.
Strong staons only, will only stop at staons with a strong signal.
All staons will stop at any staon found with a strong or weak
signal.
4. Make your choice by pressing the ENTER buon to acvate the
seng.
Now when you press and hold the BACK/SCAN buon the auto scan
searches depending on what seng you chose.
Factory Reset
To reset the radio to the factory sengs follow the below steps.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the <Scan Seng> opon appears press either or and
find <System>, press the ENTER buon.

Backlight
To set the backlight for this unit.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the <Scan Seng> opon appears press either or and
find <System>, press the ENTER buon.
3. Use the or to find the <backlight> opinion, then find
<Time Out>.
4. Press the ENTER buon and choose the available me <Off>,
<10 sec>, <20 sec>, <30 sec>, <45 sec>, <60 sec>, <90 sec>,
<120 sec>, <180 sec>.
Sleep Timer
When listening to the radio you can set a period of me before the
radio enters standby mode.
NOTE: The radio must be acve and not in standby mode already.
1. To acvate the mer press the SLEEP buon once to open the
opon screen.
3. Use the or to find the <Factory Reset> opon and press ENTER.
4. Choose <Yes> and press the ENTER buon.

2. In order to set the mer duraon you will need to press the
SLEEP buon repeatedly unl you reach the period you require.
NOTE: The mer increases in increments of 15 minutes, 30minutes,
45minutes, 60minutes then jumps to 90 minutes.
SW Version
To review the soware version of this unit.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the <Scan Seng> opon appears press either or and
find <System>, press the ENTER buon.
3. Use the or to find the <SW version> opon and press ENTER
to review it.
