Congratulaons on purchasing the Clint® F3.
We trust that this product will give you hours of listening pleasure,
and provide years of unparalleled performance. As with any new
electrical product please be paent and allow 36 hours of use
before all components have acclimazed themselves with your

aer 20 minutes (approximately) of inacvity. Press the SLEEP /
buon to wake the unit.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
To clean the F3 radio, wipe the case with a slightly moist, lint-free cloth.
Do not use any cleaning fluids containing alcohol, ammonia or abrasives.
Do not spray an aerosol at or near the radio. Always use original
packaging if it is necessary to transport the unit at any me. If this unit
is used in a dusty environment, it may be necessary to have the unit
serviced at your local dealer periodically. It is not advisable to allow
large deposits of dust to accumulate within the unit as it may prevent
adequate cooling. Similarly dust deposits which become damp can
somemes lead to electrical problems which may cause severe damage
to the delicate electronics within this unit.

GENERAL OPERATION
1a Mains Adaptor (supplied with the package)
Connect the mains adaptor to the DC power socket on the rear of the
radio.
1b Baery (not supplied)
Open the baery door and insert 6 x “AA” size baeries.
NOTE: Insert baeries correctly. Pay aenon to the +/- polaries
When le unused for long period of me using baery power, it is
advised to switch the power to the OFF posion to avoid baery
drainage in STANDBY mode.
2. Extend the telescopic aerial as far as it can go.
3. Slide the Power ON/OFF switch to ON to turn on the radio.
The radio will automacally tune and operate the quick scan.
During scan mode, the LCD will display a slide bar that indicates the
progress of the scan, and the amount of radio staons that have been
found so far. Once the scan has finished, the radio will select the first
alphanumeric staon.
NOTE: The name of the found group of DAB+ radio staons will be
displayed on the boom half of the display.

When you power up the radio again, the radio plays the same mode
(DAB or FM) as the last operaon.
If you hear no sound, then press the “VOL +” control unl you reach a
desired level. If the volume is too high, then press the “VOL -” control
to decrease the volume level.
To listen the staons that have been stored press either / buons
to cycle through. Each me you press the / buons you will skip
to the next or previous stored staon. The radio will switch to display
the staon name.
Press the “SLEEP/ ” buon for 2 seconds to turn off the radio
whenever it is on.
Memory
DAB+ OPERATION
1 Storing staons
it is possible to store up to 10 of your favorite staons to the preset
keys. This will enable you to access your favorite staons quickly &
easily.
To store a preset, you must first be listening to the staon that you
would like to save, press & hold the PRESET buon for 2 seconds.
The LCD will then show the following.

2 Recalling a stored staon
Once you have saved a staon to one of the preset buons, you can
recall by pressing the PRESET buon. Then use the / buons to
select the desired preset staon. Once selected press the ENTER
buon to acvate.
If you choose a preset that has not been allocated a staon, then
“Preset Empty” will be displayed.
Alternavely you can use the preset buons, press one of the buons
to use the first digit preset ie:- 1-6 will be 1. To use the preset 6 press
and hold the 1-6 buon.
3 Display modes
Every me you press the “INFO/MENU” buon, the display will cycle
through the following display modes: The informaon is displayed on
the lower segment of the LCD display.

Use the / buons to choose the preset number from 1-10 you
wish to use. Then press the ENTER buon to store.

4 DLS (Dynamic Label Segment)
Dynamic label segment is a scrolling message that the broadcaster
may include with their transmissions. This message usually includes
informaon, such as program detail etc.
5 Program type
This describes the “Style” or “genre” of music that is being broadcast
e.g. “Rock“ or “Classical”.
6 Ensemble/Mulplex (Group name)
A mulplex/ensemble is a collecon of radio staons that are bundled
and transmied on one frequency. There are naonal and local
mulplexes. Local ones contain.
NOTE: DAB – unlike normal radio, groups together several radio
staons and transmits them on one frequency.
7 Time & Date
The me & date can be set automacally from the DAB broadcast or
set manually.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the <Autoscan> opon appears press either or and find
<System>.
3. Press the ENTER buon, use the / to find <Time> and press
ENTER.
Inside the <Time> menu there are several opons. <Set 12/24 Hour>,
<Set Time/Date> & <Auto Update>, <Set Date Format>.

<Set 12/24 Hour>: Use the / buons to select 12 or 24 hour and
then press the ENTER buon to acvate.
<Set Time/Date>: When acvated and the Hour digit flashes, use the
/ buons to set the digit to the correct hour then press ENTER,
repeat for the minutes again pressing ENTER when set. The process
for seng the date is exactly the same as the above. Press ENTER to
finalize the seng once complete.
<Auto Update>: Use the / buons to cycle through the various
opons for auto seng the me & date. These range from: <Update
from any>, < Update from DAB>, < Update from FM> and <No Update>.
<Set Date Format>: Use the / buons to cycle through the various
opons for seng the format of date. There are <DD-MM-YYYY>,
<MM-DD-YYYY>.
NOTE: When the power is switched OFF ( not standby ) the sengs
will be lost.
8 Alarm Seng
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the <Autoscan> opon appears press either or and find
<System>.
3. Press the ENTER buon, use the / to find <Alarm> and press
ENTER.
Alarm Setup
Press the ENTER buon to iniate the setup process.
1. Use the / buons to select Alarm ON or OFF then press ENTER
to acvate.

2. Use the / buons to set the Alarm ON hour digits. Press ENTER
to set.
3. Set the Minute digits the same way and press ENTER once set.
4. Choose the source of the alarm between BUZZER, DAB & FM using
the / buons.
If you choose DAB or FM the next step is to choose the staon you
want to play when the alarm sounds. There is a choice of Last staon
listened to, or a preset ( if any stored ).
5. There is the opon to only have the alarm acvate on WEEKDAYS,
DAILY, ONCE and WEEKENDS. Choose which you require using the
/ buons. The ENTER buon stores the seng.
6. The next step is to set the volume level you require. Use the /
buons to set and press ENTER to acvate the alarm.
7. To disable the alarm return to the <Alarm> screen and use the /
buons to choose OFF and press ENTER to save.
8. To silence the alarm when sounding press the ENTER buon.
If you do not press the ENTER buon, the alarm will close
automacally aer an hour.
You can press and hold the SLEEP / buon for 3 seconds to
silence the alarm.
NOTE: In standby the alarm icon will display when acvated.

9 Snooze Mode
When the alarm sounds ( in BUZZER mode ) you can press the
SLEEP / buon to acvate the SNOOZE mode and delay the
alarm for 5 minutes.
When you enter the SNOOZE mode, you can choose different
SNOOZE me period. Each me you press the SLEEP/ buon, the
me period would be 5, 10, 15, 30 mins.
10 Scan modes
1. To perform an AUTO SCAN, press and hold the INFO/MENU buon
for 3 seconds.
2. When the <Autoscan> opon appears press the ENTER buon.
Manual Tuning
As well as an auto tune funcon, you can manually tune the receiver.
This can help you when aligning your aerial or when adding staons
that where missed while auto tuning.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the < Autoscan > opon appears press either or and find
<Manual Tune> then press the ENTER buon.
3. Use the / buons to cycle through the DAB channels, which are
numbered from 5A to 13F.
4. Now press the ENTER buon to enter the current ensemble/
mulplex, the top line will now display the first staon in the
ensemble/mulplex.
Then press the ENTER buon to listen to this first staon and enter
to the playback interface.

5. To see what staons are present in the found ensemble/mulplex,
just press either or buons. When you’ve located a staon that
you would like to listen to, just press the ENTER buon.
6. Once you have reached the last staon in the found ensemble, it
will revert back to the first staon again. If you wish to exit the
manual tuning mode, just press the ENTER buon.
11 Pruning
When the radio has performed a Scan in several locaons you may
find there are stored staons that you can no longer receive. This
funcon automacally removes them from the stored staon list.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the < Autoscan > opon appears press either or the
ENTER buon.
3. Use the or buons to select YES or NO and press ENTER to
select.
12 DRC ( Dynamic Range Control )
This causes the radio to reduce the dynamic range of the audio signal.
The purpose of this is to adapt the dynamic range of the audio signal
to listening in a noisy environment.
NOTE: this is not available on many DAB staons.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the < Autoscan> opon appears press either or the
ENTER buon.
3. Choose between DRC off, DRC High and DRC Low.

2 Storing staons
The operaon for FM is the same as DAB. See Page 8.
3 Recalling a stored staon
The operaon for FM is the same as DAB. See Page 9.
4 Display modes
Every me you press the “INFO/MENU” buon, the display will cycle
through the following display modes: The informaon is displayed on
the lower segment of the LCD display.
5 Program type

FM OPERATION
4. Press ENTER to save the seng.
1 Switching from DAB to FM
Press the DAB/FM buon once to switch. The display will show FM
Mode.
Once acvated the radio will automacally tune to the nearest
available staon.

6 Programme Name
Staon name ( if broadcast ). Frequency of the staon if no name is
broadcast.
7 Audio Mode (Stereo/Mono)
Denotes if the broadcast is in Stereo or Mono.
To specify that a staon can be only played in mono or that stereo is
allowed.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the <Scan Seng> opon appears press either or and
fin <Audio Seng>, press the ENTER buon.
3. Use the or buons to cycle through the 2 opons <Forced
Mono> or <Stereo Allowed>. Press ENTER to select.
Stereo allowed: Means any staon broadcast in stereo with a strong
enough signal will be played in stereo.
Mono only: Plays ALL staons in mono regardless of the availability
of a stereo signal.
8 Time
Displays the current me. Please see Page 10 for seng.
9 Date
Displays the current date. Please see Page 10 for seng.
10 Radio Text
Displays scrolling text broadcast by the staon ( only if broadcast ).

11 Scan Modes
Auto Scan
The Auto scan seng will scan up or down depending on where the
starng frequency is. Once it finds a staon it will stop.
There are 2 opons to use when using this funcon.
NOTE: Ensure you are in the FM mode before following the below
steps.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the < Scan Seng > opon appears, press the ENTER buon.
3. You will have the choice of either <Strong Staons Only> or
<All Staons> using the or buons.
Strong staons only, will only stop at staons with a strong signal.
All staons will stop at any staon found with a strong or weak
signal.
4. Make your choice by pressing the ENTER buon to acvate the
seng.
Now when you press and hold the BACK/SCAN buon the auto scan
searches depending on what seng you chose.
Factory Reset
To reset the radio to the factory sengs follow the below steps.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the <Scan Seng> opon appears press either or and
find <System>, press the ENTER buon.

Backlight
To set the backlight for this unit.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the <Scan Seng> opon appears press either or and
find <System>, press the ENTER buon.
3. Use the or to find the <backlight> opinion, then find
<Time Out>.
4. Press the ENTER buon and choose the available me <Off>,
<10 sec>, <20 sec>, <30 sec>, <45 sec>, <60 sec>, <90 sec>,
<120 sec>, <180 sec>.
Sleep Timer
When listening to the radio you can set a period of me before the
radio enters standby mode.
NOTE: The radio must be acve and not in standby mode already.
1. To acvate the mer press the SLEEP buon once to open the
opon screen.
3. Use the or to find the <Factory Reset> opon and press ENTER.
4. Choose <Yes> and press the ENTER buon.

2. In order to set the mer duraon you will need to press the
SLEEP buon repeatedly unl you reach the period you require.
NOTE: The mer increases in increments of 15 minutes, 30minutes,
45minutes, 60minutes then jumps to 90 minutes.
SW Version
To review the soware version of this unit.
1. Press and hold the INFO/MENU buon for 3 seconds.
2. When the <Scan Seng> opon appears press either or and
find <System>, press the ENTER buon.
3. Use the or to find the <SW version> opon and press ENTER
to review it.
