21. Warning
- Theuse of any accessory or attachment other than one recommended in this instruction
manual may present arisk of personal injury.
22. Have your tool repaired by aqualified person
- This electric tool complies with therelevant safety rules. Repairs should only be carried out
by qualified persons using original spare parts, otherwise this may result in considerable
danger to theuser.
Specic safety rules for bench grinders
• Always use safety glasses and safety wear.
• Do not overtight thespindle nut.
• Set thedistance between thegrinding wheel and thetool rest to max 2 mm and between
thegrinding wheel and thespark guard to max 2 mm. Warning: If thedistance exceeds
2mm thegrinding wheel is worn out and must be replaced immediately.
• Regularly remove thegrinding dust which has accumulated around thebench grinder.
• Always keep arms, hands, fingers and body parts clear of theabrasive wheels when
thebench grinder is in use.
• Do not use thebench grinder in explosive atmospheres or in thepresence of flammable
liquids or gases.
• Do not use thebench grinder before it has been assembled in accordance with
theinstructions in the Assembly section of this instruction manual.
• Use only grinding wheels or other accessories with amaximum operating speed at
least as high as therated no-load speed of thebench grinder.
• Carefully inspect thegrinding wheel for cracks or flaws before use. Never use
adamaged grinding wheel. Cracked or flawed grinding wheels must be replaced
immediately.
• Never use agrinding wheel with adiameter greater or less than 125 mm. Read and
follow thegrinding wheel manufacturer’s instructions for installation and use.
• Always have agrinding wheel or accessory mounted on both arbor shafts of thebench
grinder when it is used.
• Grinding wheels can produce sparks and flying debris. Make sure that sparks are not
directed towards theuser, other bystanders or combustible materials.
• Never use theside walls of thegrinding wheel, only use theface.
• Only use flange washers designed for use with thebench grinder.
• Switch thebench grinder off using thepower switch and disconnect it from thepower
supply. Wait until thegrinding wheel has completely stopped rotating before making any
adjustments.
• Always check that thetool rest lock knob is tight before use.
• Always keep afirm grip on theworkpiece you are grinding or buffing. If possible, hold
thetool or workpiece in adesignated jig or clamp.
• Avoid kickback by resting theworkpiece on thetool rest and grinding on thelower half of
thegrinding wheel.
