General safety instructions
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical,

Pre-work safety precautions
• Read theentire instruction manual carefully.
• Never let children or others use thelawn raker without having read theinstruction manual. Checkfor any
local regulations that may stipulate aminimum operatingage.
• Never use thelawn raker in thepresence of bystanders, especially children or animals.
• Always use appropriately designed footwear and long trousers. Neveruse thelawn raker while barefoot or
wearing open-toed sandals.
• Never wear loose-fitting clothing or clothes which have any loose hanging straps, bands,etc.
• Always inspect thearea to be scarified before startingwork. Remove any objects from thearea to be
scarified that can be thrown by thelawnraker.
• Make sure that thelawn raker is completely assembled and that all parts are whole and functioning normally
before commencingwork.
• Check that all cables are whole and undamaged. Alsocheck thelawn raker’s fixed motorcable.
• Never use thelawn raker if any of its cables or connections is damaged.
• Make sure that all screws and bolts are properly tightened and that all safety devices are in place before
commencingwork.
Operating safety precautions
• Thelawn raker is not designed for professional use or to be used forhire. Theproduct is only intended for
domesticuse.
• Only use extension leads approved for outdooruse.
• Only use thelawn raker during daylight hours or under good lighting conditions.
• Thelawn raker should only be connected to a230–240 V, 50 Hz mains outlet protected by a30 mA RCD.
• Avoid scarifying wetgrass.
• Always cut at aneasypace. Donothurry.
• Be extra careful when scarifying on slopes.
• Always scarify across slopes. Neverup anddown.
• Always be extra careful when changing directions on aslope.
• Never scarify on steep slopes.
• Always be extra careful when backing or pulling thelawn raker towards yourself.
• Always turn off thelawn raker and pull theplug from themains whenever crossing other surfaces, such as
gravel, asphalt,etc.
• Never use thelawn raker if any part of thebody has been damaged. Neveruse thelawn raker without
having thecollector attached.
• Make sure that thelawn raker stands steady on all four wheels before starting. Keephands and feet away
from therotating blades at alltimes.
• Turn off thelawn raker and pull out theplug from thewall socket, whenever taking apause fromwork.
• Turn off thelawn raker and pull out theplug from thewall socket, whenever emptying thecollector, cleaning
or carrying out any other type of maintenance.
• Turn off thelawn raker and pull out theplug from thewall socket, whenever theblades strike any
unidentified object. Checkthelawn raker’s blades and raketines. Repair any eventual damage before
restarting thelawnraker.
• If any abnormal vibration or noise is detected, turn off thelawn raker and unplug it immediately.
Checktheblades and rake tines, tighten any loose screws and repair any damage before re-
commencingwork.
• Always be aware of thelocation and position of themains lead while scarifying. Makesure that themains
lead does not come into contact with thelawn raker or its rotating blades.

Assembly
Handle assembly
1. Connect thelower handle to thelawn raker’s
chassis connection and secure it with
thelockknobs.
2. Align theupper handle’s bolt holes over
thelower handle and secure them with
thesupplied bolts andknobs.
3. Secure themotor cable to thehandle using
thesupplied cableclips.
Collector
1. Hold thecollector near thedischarge chute and
open thedischargecover.
2. Hook thecollector’s retaining pins into thelawn
raker’s retaining notches.

Operating instructions
Connecting the mains lead
Note: Onlyuse anextension lead approved for outdooruse.
1. Connect theextension lead to thelawn raker’s mains lead socket and run thelead through
thehandle’sstrain-relief.
2. Theextension lead should only be connected to a230–240 V, 50 Hz mains outlet protected by a30 mA RCD.
Starting
Note: Makesure that thelawn raker does not
contact thelawn and possibly pull away when
starting. Placethelawn raker to its highest height
setting to ensure agenerous free ground clearance
and always start on low-grass area that can be
easily worked. Thereafter, adjust theworking height
to theappropriate setting.
1. Press and hold down thesafety cut-off button. 2. Clasp thestart lever (8) without releasing
thesafety cut-off button, when starting.
3. Release thesafety cut-off while clasping thestart
lever with bothhands.

Stopping
Turn off thelawn raker by releasing thestartlever.
Working height
Theworking height is adjusted by manoeuvring theheight adjustment lever to thedesired position.
4 settings are available:
• 5mm: 5mm above normal setting
• 0: Normal setting
• -5mm: 5mm below normal setting
• -10mm: 10mm below normal setting
Adjusting the upper handle position
1. Open thehandle’s lock levers on bothsides.
2. Adjust thehandle to thedesired position.
3. Close thelock levers tolock.
Emptying the collector
1. Turn off thelawn raker and pull theplug from thewall socket.
2. Lift thedischarge cover and detach thecollector.
3. Empty thegrass and clean thedischarge chute from any excessive grass and debris.
Use aproper tool for cleaning thechute. Neveruse your hands orfeet.
4. Lift thedischarge cover and reattach thecollector.
Scarifying
• Make sure that theextension lead always trails behind or lies on anarea that has already been scarified.
• Be extra careful not to damage theextension lead or pinch it while working.
• Scarify with aslight overlap to achieve thebest results.

Storage and maintenance
Note: Turnoff thelawn raker, pull out theplug and let it cool before carrying out any service or maintenance.
Care and maintenance
• Clean thelawn raker’s exterior using alightly moistenedcloth. Onlyuse mild cleaning agents, never solvents
or corrosive chemicals.
• Make sure that theventilation ports on themotor cover are clean and free from contaminants.
• Inspect thelawn raker regularly to make sure that all bolts and nuts are securely tightened and that there is
no visible damage.
• Regular checks should be made to ensure that thelawn raker is always in good running condition.
• Repairs must only be carried out by qualified service technicians and only using genuine spareparts.
• Always keep theblade, rake tines and blade housing free and clear of grass and debris to ensure
optimalperformance.
• Regularly check thelawn raker’s blades and raketines. Makesure they are undamaged and in
goodcondition.
Storage
• Make sure thelawn raker is off, pull out theplug and let it cool before storing.
• Clean thelawn raker thoroughly and check for any signs of visible damage.

• Store thelawn raker in adry, sheltered place out of thereach of children.

Troubleshooting guide
