Safety
Warning: To minimise therisk of fire, electrocution or personal injury, basic safety
precautions must be followed when using power tools. Read and retain thefollowing
instructions before using thepower tool.
1. Keep theworking area tidy.
- Cluttered surfaces and benches invite accidents.
2. Theworking environment.
- Do not expose thepower tool to rain.
- Do not use thepower tool in moist or wet areas.
- Make sure that thework area is well-illuminated.
- Never use thepower tool in areas where combustible gases or liquids are stored.
3. Guard against electric shocks.
- Avoid physical contact with earthed objects such as water pipes, radiators
and cookers.
4. Keep other people at asafe distance.
- Never permit persons, especially children, not involved in thework to touch
thepower tool or its power supply cables. Keep unauthorised persons away
from thework area.
5. Power tool storage.
- Power tools which are not in use should be kept locked up in adry place out of
children’s reach.
6. Do not force thepower tool.
- Thework will be performed better and more safely if thepower tool is used at
therecommended cutting speed and feed rate.
7. Use thecorrect tool for thejob.
- Do not force asmall tool to perform atask which requires atool with alarger capacity.
- Do not use apower tool to perform atask it is not designed for. For example,
do not use acircular saw to saw tree branches or tree trunks.
8. Wear suitable clothing.
- Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery; they could be caught in moving parts.
- Wear non-slip footwear when working outdoors.
- Wear ahairnet or similar if you have long hair.

9. Use personal protective equipment.
- Wear eye protection.
- Wear arespirator or dust mask if theoperation will generate agreat deal of dust.
- Wear ear protection.
- Wear protective gloves when handling saw blades and sharp objects. Always keep
and carry loose saw blades in a protective cover such as their original packaging.
10. Connect adust extraction device.
- If thepower tool has connections for dust extraction, make sure that thedust
extraction equipment is connected and used properly.
11. Make sure that thepower supply cable is not damaged.
- Do not pull or tug themains lead when unplugging thepower tool, grip and pull
theplug itself. Keep themains lead away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
12. Secure theworkpiece.
- If possible, use aclamp or vice to hold theworkpiece in place. This is much
safer than holding theworkpiece with your hand.
13. Do not overreach.
- Maintain secure footing with both feet on theground and stay well-balanced at
all times.
14. Take care of your tools.
- Keep all cutting tools sharp and clean to ensure optimum performance and
work safety.
- Follow theinstructions regarding lubrication and replacement of accessories.
- Check themains lead of thepower tool regularly. If themains lead is damaged
in any way it must be replaced by aqualified electrician.
- Inspect any extension leads regularly. Replace cables if they are damaged in any way.
- Keep thehandles dry, clean and free of oil and grease.
15. Always disconnect thepower tool from themains.
- Disconnect thepower tool from themains whenever it is not in use, before
service and maintenance and whenever replacing accessories such as saw
blades and drill bits.
16. Remove tools and keys.
- Make ahabit of checking that all adjusting tools and keys have been removed
from thepower tool before it is switched on.
17. Avoid unintentional starting.
- Make sure that thepower switch is set to OFF before connecting thepower
tool to themains.
18. Use theright kind of extension lead.
- If you use thepower tool outdoors, only use extension cables which are clearly
labelled as designed for outdoor use.
19. Remain attentive.
- Pay attention to what you are doing. Use your common sense and never ope-
rate thepower tool when tired, sick or under theinfluence of medicine, alcohol
or narcotics.

20. Check thepower tool for potential damage.
- Before using thepower tool, make sure that it is functioning normally as
described in this instruction manual.
- Make sure that all themoving parts are intact, properly fitted and rotate freely.
- Damaged safety devices must be replaced by authorised service personnel
unless otherwise specified in this instruction manual.
- Damaged switches must be replaced by aqualified electrician.
- Never use apower tool which cannot be switched on or off using
thedesignated power switch.
21. Warning:
- Do not use any other accessories than those mentioned in this instruction
manual. Doing so entails arisk of personal injury.
22. Have thepower tool repaired by aqualified electrician.
- This power tool conforms to relevant safety regulations. Repairs must only be
carried out by qualified service technicians and only using identical replacement
parts. Failure to do so could lead to serious personal injury.
Specic Safety Instructions for Table Mounted
Circular Saws and Compound Mitre Saws
Warning: Disconnect themains power plug before any adjustment, service or blade
replacement.
Note: Check that thesaw and all safety devices are intact and functioning properly
before switching thesaw on.
1. Warning: Use only cross-cut saw blades. Make sure that TCT blades have
negative rake. Do not use blades with deep spacing between theteeth because
theteeth might bend and come into contact with theblade guard. Adamaged
blade should be replaced immediately.
2. Do not use thesaw unless it has been completely assembled using theinstructions
in this manual. Check that themotor and theblade are rotating theright way (see
direction arrow on theblade guard/saw). Make sure that theblade does not come
into contact with thetable in any of thesettings. Unplug thesaw and manually tilt
theblade to 45° and 90°. Adjust thesaw head if necessary.
3. If you do not understand how thesaw should be used, ask aknowledgeable
person for advice.
4. Never saw freehand. Make sure that theworkpiece is firmly secured against
thefence before you start sawing. If theworkpiece that you are sawing requires
you to have one hand as close as 10 cm from theblade, secure theworkpiece to
thetable using aclamp before sawing.
5. Warning: Keep hands at asafe distance from thesaw blade. Never saw small
objects. Use apush-stick.
6. Always keep the push stick together with the saw when it is not in use.

7. Check that thesaw blade is well-centred, sharp and that it rotates freely and
without vibration.
8. Let themotor come up to speed before starting to cut.
9. Keep themotor ventilation openings clean and free of dust and debris.
10. Make sure that all clamps are tight before starting to saw, even if thetable is
locked at afixed angle.
11. Make sure that thesaw blade and flanges are clean and that thespindle nut is
tight. Use only theblade flanges belonging to your saw.
12. Theriving knife should have aradius compatible with thediameter of thesaw blade.
13. Use only saw blades having adiameter and speed rating complying with those in
thetechnical specifications.
14. When sawing long objects, make sure that theends are adequately supported.
15. Always check thesaw blade for cracks and fractures before using it. Replace
adamaged blade immediately.
16. Do not use thesaw if any of theparts is missing or if it is in any way damaged or
malfunctioning. Unplug thesaw from thewall socket if it makes any unusual noises
or vibrates excessively. Have thesaw repaired by qualified service personnel before
using it again.
17. Never use thesaw if any of thesafety devices is missing or not working properly.
18. Never stretch round or over thesaw blade when it is rotating. Maintain asteady
stance and remain balanced at all times.
19. Make sure that thesaw blade can rotate freely (especially after transportation/
blade changes) before plugging in and starting thesaw.
20. Do not use high speed steel (HSS) blades if thesaw is supplied with atungsten
carbide tipped (TCT) blade.
21. Turn thesaw off and wait until thesaw blade has completely stopped before
moving theworkpiece or adjusting any setting.
22. Do not remove any offcuts or jammed material from around theblade area until
theblade has stopped completely.
23. Never saw into ferrous metals, brick or mortar.
24. Never use thesaw near flammable fluids or gas.
25. Make sure that everyone using thesaw has read this entire instruction manual.
26. Operators of thesaw must be at least 18 years old. Operators aged 16 must be
supervised by aninstructor at all times. Keep children away from thesaw when it
is connected to thepower supply.
27. Makes sure that offcuts of theworkpiece are removed from thetable to ensure that
they are not ejected by thesaw blade.
28. Do not distract theoperator/s of thesaw.
29. Never try to stop thesaw blade by pushing something against theside of
theblade when thepower has been turned off.
30. Never use saw blades that do not comply with thespecifications in this instruction manual.

31. Check before every use that thesafety guards covering thesaw blade are intact
and work properly.
32. Set the blade guard so that it lies gently against the workpiece during sawing.
Never lock theblade guard in theopen position and never alter or remove any of
thesafety devices.
33. Do not use the saw for cutting grooves or for rebating.
34. Do not use the saw for cutting slots (grooves which end inside the workpiece).
35. Never use adamaged or faulty safety device, replace it immediately.
36. Never saw workpieces that are too small to hold safely.
37. Always use atable, roller stand, or similar to support long workpieces.
38. Secure round workpieces to thetable using suitable clamps to stop them from rotating.
39. Make sure that there are no pieces of metal such as nails or screws in theworkpiece.
40. Always ensure that theworkpiece is securely pressed against therip fence and
surface of thetable so that it cannot twist whilst being sawed.
41. Never saw more than one workpiece at atime.
42. Never attempt to remove sawdust or offcuts trapped around theblade whilst
thesaw blade is rotating. Always switch off and unplug thesaw from thewall
socket before adjusting or servicing it.
43. Turn thesaw off and disconnect it from thepower supply whenever you leave
thework area.
44. All safety devices must be reattached to thesaw immediately after any repairs
or maintenance.
45. Always follow all thesafety, operating and maintenance instructions in this
instruction manual. Always follow thedimension information specified in
thetechnical specifications.
46. It is essential to follow all Health and Safety Executive regulations as well as
general safety regulations.
47. If thesaw is used with dust extraction equipment in anenclosed space, ensure
that theroom has adequate ventilation to prevent thecreation of avacuum.
48. Thesaw must only be used with a230 V plug protected by at least a10A fuse.
49. Do not use saw blades that are thicker or thinner than theriving knife (applies to
circular saws).
50. Always use ariving knife when rip cutting.
51. Make sure that theriving knife is adjusted so that thedistance between theteeth
of theblade and theriving knife is no more than 5 mm.
52. Never carry the saw by its safety devices when moving or transporting it.
53. When the saw is being transported the upper part of the saw blade must be
covered, e.g. by the upper blade guard.

Assembly
Note:
• Make sure that thesaw is disconnected
from thepower supply before
commencing assembly.
• Remove all packaging materials and
transport bracing before commencing
assembly.
• Fit all screws and nuts but do not
tighten them during theassembly
process. Wait until all theparts have
been assembled before tightening all
thescrews and nuts.
• Use thesupplied spanners,
thespanners and thesaw blade are
attached to theright-hand side of
thesaw when viewed from thefront.
• Wear safety gloves when handling
thesaw blade, it is very sharp.
Table extension
1. Make sure that thesaw blade is at its
lowest setting. Turn thesaw upside
down and place it on thefloor with
thetable facing down.
2. Line thetable extension (8) up with
theedge of thesaw table (1).
3. Loosely fasten theextension to thetable
using hexagon head screws (20), spring
washers (21 a), flat washers (21 b) and
nuts (21). Repeat theprocedure on
theopposite side of thetable.
4. Screw thesupport struts (23) to thetable
extensions with washers and nuts.
5. Tighten thenuts when both extensions
have been attached.

Legs
Riving knife and saw blade
Riving knife
1. Attach thelegs (17) as shown in
thepicture. Theends of thesupport
struts are fastened using thesame
screws as thelegs, as shown in
thepicture.
2. Push therubber feet (17a) onto
theends of thelegs.
3. Screw on thecross braces (18 and 19).
Thelong cross braces should be
installed parallel to thecontrol/front
side of thesaw.
4. Screw on theleg support stays (17b)
as shown in thepicture. They should
be installed on therear legs.
1. Remove thesaw table insert by
undoing thescrew (see picture) and
lifting out theinsert.
2. Set thesaw blade to its maximum
height setting by turning thehand
wheel (13) clockwise.

3. Make sure that thetilt angle is set to 0°
and locked using thelock knob (14).
4. Place theriving knife over
thealignment lugs.
5. Secure theriving knife with thewasher
and set screw making sure that thearrow
on thewasher points to thesaw blade as
shown in thepicture.
Saw blade
1. Make sure that theinner
flange washer (theinner
washer has around hole
in thecentre) is placed on
thedrive shaft.
2. Place thesaw blade onto theflange of
thesupport washer. Make sure that thesaw
blade is facing theright way. Thedirection
of rotation markings on theblade should
be facing outwards and correspond with
themarkings on thesaw.

3. Fit theouter flange washer and screw in thelock nut. Hold thedrive shaft with
one of thespanners on theouter flange washer whilst simultaneously tightening
thelock nut (clockwise).
Changing the blade
Warning: Make sure that thesaw is disconnected from thepower supply before
starting to change thesaw blade. Wear safety gloves.
1. Remove thesaw table insert by
undoing thescrew (see picture) and
lifting out thetable insert.
2. Set thesaw blade to its maximum
height setting by turning thehand
wheel (13) clockwise.
3. Remove theold saw blade using
thetwo spanners. Then following
the saw blade installation instructions
above, making sure to adjust the riving
knife if necessary (instructions below).
Adjusting the riving knife
Undo theset screw and adjust
theknife so that it follows thecurvature
of thesaw blade with amaximum
distance from theblade of 5mm. max. 5 mm

Blade guard
Screw theblade guard onto thetop of theriving
knife. Do not tighten thenut too tightly,
theblade guard must be able to move freely.
Set the blade guard so that it lies gently
against the workpiece during sawing.
Dust extraction port adaptor
If adust extractor is used, connect
thesuction hose (5) between theblade guard
and thedust extraction port adaptor.
Operating instructions
• Make sure that thesaw is completely intact and correctly assembled before
commencing work.
• Check that thesaw blade is vertical (90°) and is not set higher than is necessary
to just manage to saw through thethickness of theworkpiece.
• Regularly check that all nuts and screws are tight.
On/off switch (start/stop)
Plug themains lead into awall socket.
Switching on: Push thegreen button [I] to start themotor.
Switching off: Push thered button [0] to turn themotor off.
No-volt release switch
Thesaw is equipped with ano-volt release switch which prevents it from starting
automatically when thepower comes back on following apower cut. Once power has
been restored thesaw must be switched on again by pressing [l ].

Motor overload cut-out
If themotor is overloaded due to incorrect workpiece feed or thesaw blade being
obstructed by debris, theoverload cut-out may be triggered.
If theoverload safety cut-off switch is triggered:
1. Unplug themains lead and let thesaw cool down for at
least 10 minutes.
2. Make sure that no contaminants hinder therotation of
thesaw blade, brush off and vacuum saw dust as and
when required.
3. Press theoverload cut-out reset button (a) pictured.
4. Switch thesaw on by pressing [I ].
Setting the saw blade height
Turn thehand wheel (13) to set thedesired height. Never set theblade higher than is
necessary to saw through theworkpiece.
Rip fence
Place therip fence onto theguide rail (15)
and lock it in place by lowering thelocking
lever ((b)in thepicture).
Therip fence can be attached in two ways,
with thehigh side or thelow side facing thesaw
blade (thelow side makes it easier to handle thin
material such as plywood). Loosen thewing nuts
and remove therip fence from therail.
Position therip fence in thedesired position and
tighten thewing nuts.

Therip fence can be used on either side of theblade. Loosen thewing nuts and remove
therip fence from therail. Remove thescrews from therail and insert them from
theother side. Position therip fence in thedesired position and tighten thewing nuts.
1. Slide themitre guide into one of theslots on
thetable.
2. Undo thelocking knob (c) and set thedesired
angle. Tighten thelocking knob again.
3. If necessary, undo thetwo wing nuts (d) and
move therip fence to theside so that it does
not catch on theblade, then tighten thewing
nuts again.

Setting the blade tilt
Note: Check all theangles before starting to saw.
1. Undo thelocking knob (14) and set thedesired angle.
2. Tighten thelocking knob again.
Rip cutting
Note:
• Rehearse every step of thecutting task without turning thesaw on if you are
unsure how to hold theworkpiece and work safely.
• Make atest cut and measure before starting to rip cut on theactual workpiece.
• Always let thesaw come up to full speed before starting to cut.
• Be extra careful at thebeginning of every cut.
• When rip-cutting thick workpieces where the saw blade is set to its maximum
height: check that the riving knife is set to its maximum height setting otherwise
there is a risk of the workpiece fastening on the blade guard. Refer to the Adjusting
the riving knife section.
• Hold one side of thematerial against
therip fence and theflat face against
thesurface of thetable.
• Do not stand directly behind
theworkpiece when rip cutting.
Theworkpiece can be thrown back
towards theoperator.
• Place your hands on theworkpiece and
press it against thetable and therip
fence. Feed theworkpiece into theblade
in acontrolled and smooth motion.
• Warning: Always use apush-stick
if any of your hands comes closer
than 125mm to thesaw blade
during thecutting process. Never
use adamaged push-stick, replace
adamaged stick before resuming work.
• Leave theoffcuts on thesaw table until
thesaw blade has completely stopped
rotating after thesaw has been
switched off.

Care and maintenance
• Always unplug themains lead from thewall socket before servicing, cleaning and
replacement of thesaw blade.
• Clean thesaw by wiping it with adamp cloth. Use only mild cleaning agents, never
solvents or corrosive chemicals. Vacuum them if necessary.
• If thecircular saw is not to be used for anextended period, it should be unplugged
and stored in adry and dust-free location out of reach of children.
Troubleshooting guide
Note: Unplug themains lead from thewall socket prior to any maintenance or service work.
Thesaw does
not start.
• Make sure that themains lead is undamaged and securely
connected to thewall socket.
• Check that thewall socket is live.
• Themotor overload protection has tripped. Let themotor
cool down for 10 minutes and then press thereset button.
Refer to theMotor overload cut-out section above.
Thesaw should now function normally again.
Thesaw overheats
and themotor
overload cut-out is
triggered.
• Do not overload thesaw by feeding material into theblade
too forcefully, let thesaw do thework.
• Does thework task exceed thecapacity of thesaw?
• Debris obstructing saw blade. Disconnect thesaw from
thepower supply and clean it.
• Make sure that theair vents of themotor are not covered
with dust.
• Let themotor cool down for 10 minutes and then press
thereset button. Refer to theMotor overload cut-out
section above. Thesaw should now function normally again.
Poor cutting
performance.
• Blunt or worn blade. Replace if necessary. Refer to
theRiving knife and saw blade section above.
• Check that theblade is fitted correctly.
Saw cut not at
correct angle.
Check and adjust theangle.
Theworkpiece
binds on theblade
when rip cutting.
Adjusting theriving knife, refer to theRiving knife and
saw blade section above.
Theworkpiece or
parts of it are
thrown backwards.

• Feed theentire workpiece past theblade before letting go

regularly, change if necessary.

Abnormal noise
and vibration.
• Check that all parts are correctly assembled and that all
screws and nuts are tight.
• Check that theblade is in good condition and is correctly fitted.
• Check that thefloor is level and that thesaw has all four
legs squarely on thefloor.
Themotor stops,
theworkpiece gets
burn marks when
rip cutting.
• Thesaw blade may be blunt, replace if necessary.

• Do not feed theworkpiece into theblade too quickly,
slow thefeed rate.

5. Förvaring av elverktyg.
- Elverktyg som inte används ska förvars iettlåst, torrt utrymme utom räckhåll
för barn.
6. Pressa inte elverktyget.
- Arbetsresultatet blir bättre och utförs på ettsäkert sätt om elverktyget används
med avsedd matningshastighet.
7. Använd rätt verktyg.
- Pressa inte små verktyg till att utföra arbetsuppgifter som kräver verktyg med
högre kapacitet.
- Använd inte ettelverktyg till arbetsuppgifter som det inte är avsett för.
Använd t.ex. inte encirkelsåg till att kapa trädgrenar eller trädstammar.
8. Bär lämplig klädsel.
- Bär aldrig löst hängande kläder eller smycken, de kan fastna iroterande delar.
- Använd halksäkra skor om arbetet utförs utomhus.
- Bär hårnät eller liknande om du har långt hår.
