Safety
• Thetile saw must not be modified or used for any other purpose than that for
which it has been designed. Regularly check that all screws and nuts are securely
tightened.
• Make sure that themotor’s rated voltage is thesame as that of thewall socket.
• Damaged power leads and switches must always be replaced by atradesman.
Neveroperate thetile saw if you cannot stop or start it comfortably.
• This tile saw is only intended for cutting brick, stone, ceramic floor and wall tiles,etc.
General safety instructions – portable electric power tools
Note: Whenusing this tool all basic safety precautions must be followed to avoid
therisk of fire, electrocution and personal injury. Readthese instructions carefully
before using thetile saw and keep them for future reference.
• Keep theworking areatidy. Cluttered surfaces and benches invite accidents.
• Take stock of your working environment. Donot expose thetool torain. Donot
use thetool in moist or wetareas. Keeptheworking area welllit. Neveroperate
thetool near flammable liquid orgas.
• Reduce therisk of electric shocks. Avoidbody contact with earthed objects such
as pipes, radiators, ovens or refrigerators.
• Keep other people at asafe distance. Donot allow anyone, especially children,
not involved in thework process to touch thetool or its electriccable. Keepall
bystanders at adistance.
• Store thetool in asafeplace. Whenthetile saw is not in use, keep it in alocked,
dry area, away from children.
• Do not force thetool. Thetool will work better and safer at thefeed rate for which
it was intended.
• Use thecorrect tool for thejob. Donot try to use small tools to perform jobs
requiring more powerfultools. Donot use atool for apurpose for which it was not
designed,e.g. using acircular saw for lopping branches offtrees.

• Wear suitable attire. Donot wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery; they could
be caught in movingparts. Non-slip shoes are recommended for outdoorwork.
Wearahairnet or similar if you have longhair.
• Always use safetywear. Wearsafety glasses. Useadust mask or dust filter when
working in dusty environments.
• Use dust extractors. Ifthetool is equipped with or connected to adust extractor/
collector, make sure that it is turned on and used correctly.
• Do not abuse thelead. Donot jerk thelead, grip theplug itself when disconnecting
thepower. Makesure that themains lead does not come into contact with heat,
oil, or sharpedges.
• Firmly secure theworkpiece. Ifpossible use vices or clamps to hold theworkpiece
inplace. Thisis much safer than holding theworkpiece in onehand.
• Do not overreach. Makesure that you stand steady and balanced alltimes.
• Look after youtools. Makesure that they are clean and that theedges are sharp
for maximum effect and best results. Follow themanuals recommendations
regarding lubrication and replacement of accessories. Inspect themains lead
regularly. Ifit is damaged it should be replaced by aqualified service technician.
Inspect all leads and cables regularly to check for any damage. Makesure that
thetile saw’s handles and controls are clean, dry and free from oil and grease.
• Turn thepoweroff. Pullout theplug and push in theemergency stop button before
servicing or changing any blades, drill bits, cutters or sandingdiscs.
• Remove all spanners and repairtools. Makeahabit of checking to make sure that
thetile saw is free of all spanners and tools before turning thepoweron.
• Avoid accidental starts. Donot walk around with your finger on thetrigger of
apower tool if it is pluggedin. Makesure that theon/off switch is set to OFF
before plugging in any powertool.
• Use thecorrect extensionleads. Ifyou use extension leads outdoors, only use
those designed for outdooruse. Onlyuse extension leads with thick enough
diameter core wires and roll out thewholelead.
• Use common sense and be careful. Thinkbefore carrying out any task, so that it
is carried out safely. Neveroperate machines/power tools when you are tired or
under theinfluence of medicine.
• Check thefollowing before turning thetoolon:
- That all guards and other parts are whole and in workingorder.
- That moving parts are free and correctly aligned.
- That no moving parts can get caught.
- That there are no visible defects.
- Other factors that can influence work execution.

• Use only recommended accessories. Theuse of accessories which are not
recommended by themanufacturer may present arisk of personal injury.
• Check that thetool conforms to current safety regulations. Repairs to thetool
should only be carried out by atradesman using original spares; otherwise thetool
could cause accidents and personal injury.
Specic Safety Rules
Before starting the tile saw
• Place thetile saw on afirm, level surface.
• Make sure that thepower switch is set on 0before connecting thetile saw to
awall socket. Onlyconnect thetile saw to anearthed wall socket.
• Make sure that theblade is well-centred and undamaged before startingwork.
• Only use tile cutting blades/discs with anoutside diameter of 150–180 mm and
abore of 22.2 mm and which are approved for use at themaximum speed of
thetile saw,i.e. 3000rpm.
• Do not overtighten thespindlenut.
• Protect thecutting blade from moisture andblows.
• Make sure that thecutting blade can rotate freely before starting thetilesaw.
• Never use abuckled or crackedblade.
• Never stop theblade by pressing on it from theside.
• Make sure that thecutting blade is not in contact with theworkpiece or any other
object when thetile saw is switchedon.
• Always wear safety gloves. Neverremove waste material from within theworkarea
whilst thecutting blade is rotating.
• Never use thetile saw of thesafety devices/guards are not fitted or do notwork.
• Always pull theplug out of thewall socket before servicing and adjusting thetilesaw.
Whilst operating the tile saw
• Make sure that thewater tray is always full whilst working.
• Never use thetile saw without theblade guard inplace.
• Never stand in line with thecutting blade when turning thetile sawon.
• Pull out theplug if thetile saw is left unattended.
• Adopt asteady stance and hold theworkpiece firmly in bothhands.
• Do not exert lateral pressure onto theblade.
• Be aware of thepower cable when using thetilesaw. Donot let it come into
contact with any movingparts.
• Use apush stick to feed small workpieces against theblade. Donot saw tiles that
cannot be handled safely.

Switch the tile saw off immediately if…
• Thetile saw starts to behave strangely,e.g. emits smoke, sparks, strange noises
or starts vibrating.
• Thetile saw’s power switch or electric cable is damaged.

Thetile saw’s fixed and adjustable safety guards must all be in place

Assembly
Screw on theblade guard (4) if it is not already inplace.
Use
Sawing tiles
1. Place thetile saw on asmooth and level surface.
2. Fill thewater tray with clean water up to the “max level”mark. Thecorrect water
level is stated on theblade guard and on theinside of thewatertray.
3. Tilt thework table to thedesired angle by loosening theadjusting screws (8).
Tighten thescrewswhen
thetilt angle has beenset.
4. Set theblade guard (4) so that atile just fits between theguard and thetable.
5. Think about how thetask is to be performed. Settheparallel guide fence (2), it can
be mounted on either side of theblade. Setthefence to thesame scale mark on
both ends of thetable to ensure that it is parallel.
6. Adapt theparallel guide fence’s handle (1) by turning it clockwise/anticlockwise
until you have thecorrect resistance and then tighten it so that it stays inplace.
Measure, using aruler or tape, thedistance between theblade and theguide
fence to make sure that thecutting length will be correct.
7. Plug themains lead into a230 V wall outlet and turn thetile saw on by switching
theon/off switch (7) to I. Lettheblade come up to full speed before beginning
tocut.
8. Feed thetile into theblade with asmooth and continuous motion. Usetheparallel
fence as aguide.
9. Turn themotor off by switching theon/off switch to 0. Donot remove thepieces of
cut tile until theblade has completely stopped rotating.
Sawing at an angle of 45°
1. Place thetile saw on asmooth and level surface.
2. Fill thewater tray with clean water up to the “max level”mark. Thecorrect water
level is stated on theblade guard and on theinside of thewatertray.
3. Adjust thelevel/tilt of thework table to thedesired angle using theadjusting
screws (8). Tighten thescrews when thetilt angle has beenset.
4. Set theblade guard (4) so that atile just fits between theguard and thetable.
5. Think about how thetask is to be performed. Settheparallel guide fence (2), it can
be mounted on either side of theblade. Setthefence to thesame scale mark on
bothsides.

6. Adapt theparallel guide fence’s handle (1) by turning it clockwise/anticlockwise

8. Insert thecorner of thetile into thecorner of the45º mitre guide (3) (seefig.).
9. Slide themitre guide along theparallel guide fence towards thecutting blade in
asmooth motion.
10. Make sure that themitre guide does not come into contact with thecuttingblade.
11. Turn themotor off by switching theon/off switch to 0when you have finished
sawing. Donot remove thepieces of cut tile until theblade has completely
stopped rotating.

Changing the blade
1. Turn off thetile saw and pull out theplug from thewall socket.
2. Remove thewatertray.
3. Remove theblade
guardusing
acrosshead
screwdriver.
4. Unscrew theblade
lock nut from
thespindle and
remove theouter
flange washer using
thetwo provided
spanners. Theinner
flange washer should
be left on thespindle.
5. Slide thenew blade onto thespindle, observing thedirection of rotation arrow,
and then replace theflange washer and locknut.
6. Tighten thenut properly, but do not overtightenit.

Care and maintenance
• Turn thetile saw off and unplugit.
• Wipe thetile saw after use with adamp cloth and keep theventilation
openingsclear.
• Empty and rinse out thewater tray afteruse.
