• Wear suitable attire. Donot wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery; they could
be caught in movingparts. Non-slip shoes are recommended for outdoorwork.
Wearahairnet or similar if you have longhair.
• Always use safetywear. Wearsafety glasses. Useadust mask or dust filter when
working in dusty environments.
• Use dust extractors. Ifthetool is equipped with or connected to adust extractor/
collector, make sure that it is turned on and used correctly.
• Do not abuse thelead. Donot jerk thelead, grip theplug itself when disconnecting
thepower. Makesure that themains lead does not come into contact with heat,
oil, or sharpedges.
• Firmly secure theworkpiece. Ifpossible use vices or clamps to hold theworkpiece
inplace. Thisis much safer than holding theworkpiece in onehand.
• Do not overreach. Makesure that you stand steady and balanced alltimes.
• Look after youtools. Makesure that they are clean and that theedges are sharp
for maximum effect and best results. Follow themanuals recommendations
regarding lubrication and replacement of accessories. Inspect themains lead
regularly. Ifit is damaged it should be replaced by aqualified service technician.
Inspect all leads and cables regularly to check for any damage. Makesure that
thetile saw’s handles and controls are clean, dry and free from oil and grease.
• Turn thepoweroff. Pullout theplug and push in theemergency stop button before
servicing or changing any blades, drill bits, cutters or sandingdiscs.
• Remove all spanners and repairtools. Makeahabit of checking to make sure that
thetile saw is free of all spanners and tools before turning thepoweron.
• Avoid accidental starts. Donot walk around with your finger on thetrigger of
apower tool if it is pluggedin. Makesure that theon/off switch is set to OFF
before plugging in any powertool.
• Use thecorrect extensionleads. Ifyou use extension leads outdoors, only use
those designed for outdooruse. Onlyuse extension leads with thick enough
diameter core wires and roll out thewholelead.
• Use common sense and be careful. Thinkbefore carrying out any task, so that it
is carried out safely. Neveroperate machines/power tools when you are tired or
under theinfluence of medicine.
• Check thefollowing before turning thetoolon:
- That all guards and other parts are whole and in workingorder.
- That moving parts are free and correctly aligned.
- That no moving parts can get caught.
- That there are no visible defects.
- Other factors that can influence work execution.
