When using electrical appliances, especially

appliance to an authorized service centre
for examination and repair.

7. Do not pull, twist, or wrap line cord around
appliance, even during storage.
8. Never block the air openings of the appliance
or place it on a soft surface, such as a bed
or couch, where the air openings may be
blocked. Keep the air openings free of lint,
hair, and the like.
9. Never use while sleeping.
10. Never drop or insert any object into any
opening.
11. Do not use outdoors or operate where aero-
sol (spray) products are being used or where
oxygen is being administered.
12. This straightener is hot when in use. Do not
let eyes or bare skin touch heated surfac-
es.
13. Do not place the heated straightener di-
rectly on any surface or on the appliance
power cord while it is hot or plugged in.
14. Before plugging in read the information about
dual voltage contained in the instruction
section of this manual.
15. Do not attempt to touch the housing of your
appliance near the straightening plates as
it is hot when in use.
16. Do not touch hot surfaces of the appliance.
Use the handles or knobs.
17. Do not use with a voltage converter.

OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
This straightening iron is intended for house-
hold use. This unit is designed to operate at
120-240 volts AC. Use on Alternating Current
(50/60 hertz) only.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade
is wider than the other). As a safety feature,
this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact
a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat
this safety feature.
DUAL VOLTAGE
This straightening iron will automatically adjust
to the proper voltage. Use an adapter plug with
correct configuration, prior to use in outlet.
STRAIGHTENING BASICS
Plug the straightening iron cord into any
household outlet 120V-240V. Slide switch to
ON position. Red LED light will indicate power
is on. The iron will heat up very quickly. To turn
off, slide to OFF position. Red light will go off.
Never leave your straightening iron on and
unattended.
WARNING: The straightening iron’s ceramic-
coated plates will get very hot within a few
seconds and should not be placed in contact
with the skin after the straightening iron has
been turned on.
Start with a hair section that is 1" wide and no
more than ½" thick. Open the iron and place a
hair section between the two hot plates, close
to the scalp. Close plates over hair by firmly
squeezing the handles together. While maintain-
ing the tension, slowly pull the unit down along
the hair section toward the end of hair. At the
end of hair section, release the pressure on the
handle and allow the hair to slide out. Repeat
process on additional sections of hair until you
achieve the hair style you desire. It may be
necessary to repeat process on certain areas,
depending on the texture of your hair.
Some experience is necessary when learning
to use this straightening iron. After using the
iron several times, you will learn the ideal way
to straighten and style your hair easily.

CERAMIC-COATED PLATES
The plates of your new straightening iron have
an easy-glide ceramic surface, the latest in
technological advances. The ceramic even heat
distribution produces the ultimate in healthy,
shiny, silky looking hair. You’ll find that hair glides
easily over the surface of the plates as you’re
straightening, and that it is easier to clean
styling products residue, etc. off the plates
after each use. The ceramic surface also helps
smooth down flyways and frizzies. As you smooth
your hair, heat is evenly distributed so that the
style you create has a salon-perfect, silky smooth,
shiny finish. Hair also glides right through the
plates after it’s straightened.
The new ceramic technology is a pleasure to
work with, makes styling your hair easier and
provides professional results.

3. N’utilisez l’appareil que de la façon indiquée
dans ce livret. N’utilisez pas d’accessoires
non recommandés par le fabricant.

5. N'utilisez jamais l'appareil si le fil ou la
fiche est endommagée, s'il ne fonctionne
pas bien, s'il a été échappé ou

Retournez l'appareil à un service
après-vente agréé où il sera inspecté
et réparé.
6. Tenez le cordon loin des surfaces
chauffées.

Ne tirez, ne tordez ni n'enroulez le fil
autour de l'appareil, même pour le ranger.
8. Ne bloquez jamais les évents et ne le placez
jamais sur une surface souple comme un
lit ou un divan où les évents pourraient
devenir obstrués. Gardez les évents libres
de peluche et de débris.
9. Ne l’utilisez jamais en somnolant.
10. N’échappez ni n’insérez rien dans une
ouverture.
11. Ne l’utilisez pas à l’extérieur ni là où l’on
utilise des produits aérosols ou administre
de l’oxygène.
12. L’appareil est chaud en cours d’usage. Ne
laissez pas les surfaces chaudes toucher
les yeux ou la peau nue.

Ne placez pas l’appareil chauffé
directement sur une surface ou sur le
cordon alors qu’il est encore chaud ou
branché.
14. Avant de brancher l'appareill, lisez le para-
graphe sur la bitension dans ce livret.
15. Ne touchez pas le boîtier de l’appareil près
des plaques à défriser car il est très chaud
en cours d’usage.
16. Ne touchez pas les surfaces chaudes de
l'appareil. Utilisez des boutons ou des
moufles.

avec cet appareil.

D’UTILISATION
Le fer à défriser ne convient qu’à l’usage
ménager. Il peut être branché à un secteur de
120 ou 240 volts CA de 50/60Hz.
Cet appareil est muni d’une fiche polarisée
(une lame est plus large que l’autre). Pour
raisons de sécurité, cette fiche ne se branche
que d’une seule façon dans une prise. Si elle
ne convient pas, inversez-la. Si elle ne convient
toujours pas, consultez un électricien. Ne
contrez pas cette mesure de sécurité.
BITENSION
Le fer à défriser s'ajuste automatiquement à
la bonne tension. Utilisez une fiche d'adaptation
de la configuration appropriée avant de
le brancher dans la prise de courant.
ÉLÉMENTS DU DÉFRISAGE
Branchez le fer à défriser dans une prise de
courant 120 V ou 240 V. Réglez l'interrupteur
sur ON. La DEL rouge s'allume. Le fer chauffera
très vite. Pour l'éteindre, placez l'interrupteur
sur OFF. La DEL rouge s'éteint. Ne laissez
jamais le fer à défriser en circuit sans le
surveiller.
AVERTISSEMENT : Les plaques enduites de
céramique du fer à défriser deviennent très
chaudes en quelques secondes. Ne touchez
pas la peau avec les plaques une fois que le
fer à défriser est allumé.
Commencez avec une section large de 30 mm
et d'au plus 10 mm d'épaisseur. Ouvrez le fer
et placez une section de cheveux entre les deux
plaques chaudes. Refermez le fer. Emprisonnez
les cheveux entre les plaques en pressant les
poignées ensemble, fermement. Tout en
maintenant la tension, abaissez lentement le
fer vers la pointe des cheveux. Une fois à la
pointe, relâchez la pression sur les poignées et
laissez les cheveux glisser du fer. Répétez avec
d'autres sections pour obtenir le style désiré.
Dépendamment de la texture de vos cheveux,
vous aurez peut-être à reprendre certaines
sections.
Une certaine expérience est requise pour
utiliser le fer à défriser. Après quelques
utilisations, vous saurez vite la meilleure façon
de défriser et de coiffer vos cheveux.

Votre nouveau fer à défriser comporte une
surface en céramique easy-glide, le tout nouveau
en avances technologiques. La distribution
uniforme de la chaleur par la céramique donne
aux cheveux une allure saine, soyeuse et lustrée.
Vous noterez que les cheveux glissent plus
facilement sur la surface des plaques alors que
vous les défrisez; les plaques sont aussi plus
faciles à nettoyer après chaque utilisation. La
surface en céramique aide aussi à assouplir les
frisettes. Alors que vous défrisez vos cheveux,
la chaleur est distribuée uniformément afin de
donner des coiffures dignes du salon, avec un
fini lustré et soyeux. Et une fois défrisés, les
cheveux glissent tout simplement entre les
plaques.

are a dangerous combination. But did you
know that an electric appliance is still

USER MAINTENANCE
Your straightening iron is virtually maintenance-
free. No lubrication is needed. Keep all vents
and openings clear of dirt and dust. If cleaning
becomes necessary, disconnect the unit from
the power source, allow to cool and wipe ex-
terior with a cloth. If any abnormal condition
occurs, unplug the unit, allow it to cool, and
return it for repair to an authorized service
representative only. No repairs should be at-
tempted by the consumer.
CAUTION
NEVER allow the power supply cord to be pulled,
twisted, or severely bent. Never wrap the cord
tightly around the appliance. Damage will oc-
cur at the high flex point of entry into the ap-
pliance, causing it to rupture and short. Inspect
the cord frequently for damage. Stop use im-
mediately if damage is visible or if unit stops
or operates intermittently.
STORAGE
When not in use, your appliance is easy to
store. Allow appliance to cool, then store out
of reach of children in a safe, dry location. Do
not jerk or strain cord at plug connections.

L'UTILISATEUR
Votre fer à défriser ne demande pratiquement
aucun entretien. Aucune lubrification n'est
requise. Gardez les évents et les ouvertures
libres de saleté et de poussière. Si vous devez
nettoyer l'appareil, débranchez-le, laissez-le
refroidir, puis essuyez-en l'extérieur avec un
linge. Si quelque chose d'anormal se passe,
débranchez l'appareil, laissez-le refroidir et
apportez-le ou envoyez-le à un service après-
vente autorisé seulement. Ne tentez pas de le
réparer vous-même.
MISE EN GARDE
Vous ne devez JAMAIS tirer, tordre ni trop
plier le fil électrique. N'enroulez jamais le fil
serré autour de l'appareil. Vous risqueriez de
l'abîmer au point de flexion au niveau du
manche, causant une rupture et un court-
circuit. Vérifiez l'état du fil régulièrement.
Cessez d'utiliser l'appareil dès que vous
décelez un dommage ou si l'appareil s'arrête
ou fonctionne par intermittence.
RANGEMENT
Il est facile de ranger le fer lisseur quand vous
ne l'utilisez pas. Laissez-le refroidir, insérez-le
dans l'étui thermorésistant et rangez-le dans
un endroit sec hors de la portée des enfants.
Ne saccadez ni n'étirez le fil au niveau des
connexions.
