ZWECKBESTIMMUNG
Birdy ist eine wiederverwendbare Stütze zur Bauchlagenpositionierung von Frühgeborenen und Säuglingen. Birdy unterstützt die Lage-
rung in Orientierung zur Körpermittellinie und fördert ein besseres Gleichgewicht zwischen Beuge- und Streckmuskulatur. Die spezielle
Form unterstützt dabei die natürliche Rundung der Schultern, die Hand-Mund-Koordination sowie die optimale Ausrichtung von Kopf
und Rumpf. Die wechselnde Positionierung in Bauchlage kann auch zu einer Reduzierung der Kopfabflachung beitragen.

Nur nach Anweisung durch das medizinische Fachpersonal verwenden.
Stets mit einem Bezug verwenden. Den Säugling nicht mit dem Gesicht nach unten auf das Bauchlagerungskissen legen und
darauf achten, dass die Atmung nicht beeinträchtigt wird.
Das Bauchlagerungskissen Birdy zwischen den Anwendungen an Patienten desinfizieren.
Das Bauchlagerungskissen Birdy nicht auf den Säugling, Leitungen oder Schläuche platzieren.
Vor der Benutzung das Bauchlagerungskissen auf Beschädigungen überprüfen. Bei beschädigten Produkten oder beim Austreten
von Füllmaterial die Teile und das Füllmaterial entsprechend den örtlichen Vorschriften entsorgen.

GEBRAUCHSANLEITUNG
1. Je nach Gewicht und Proportionen des Säuglings die richtige Birdy-Größe auswählen:
Weniger als 800g: Größe XS · 800g - 1.200g: Größe S · 1.200g - 2.000g: Größe M · Über 2.000g: Größe L
Proportionen:
 ie Arme des Säuglings müssen sich auf der Höhe der Einbuchtungen befinden und bequem in diese hinein passen.
 Die Unterseite des Bauchlagerungskissen muss bis zum Bauchnabelbereich reichen und die Hüften stützen um die
Flexion zu fördern.
 Die Höhe des Bauchlagerungskissens sollte die Rundung der Schultern und die Flexion fördern.
HINWEIS: BEI DEN GRÖSSEN HANDELT ES SICH UM UNGEFÄHRE ANGABEN. DIE PROPORTIONEN KÖNNEN
JE PATIENT UNTERSCHIEDLICH SEIN.
2. Das Bauchlagerungskissen Birdy aus der Kunststoffverpackung nehmen und die Tüte vorschriftsmäßig entsorgen.
Den Bezug sorgfältig über das Bauchlagerungskissen ziehen
3. Den Säugling in Bauchlage so auf dem mit dem Bezug bedeckten Bauchlagerungskissen positionieren, dass sich die Arme auf Höhe
der Einbuchtungen befinden. Der Bezug verfügt über zusätzliche Seitenlaschen, die zur Stabilisierung um das Becken des Säuglings
gelegt werden können. Lassen Sie sich die korrekte Positionierung vom Physiotherapeuten oder Krankengymnasten Ihrer
Klinik zeigen.
4. Es wird empfohlen eine Lagerungshilfe für die Umgebung (z.B. Comfy, Comfy Basic oder Snake) zu verwenden, damit der Säugling
stabil und sicher abgegrenzt auf dem Bauchlagerungskissen gelagert werden kann.

REINIGUNG UND DESINFEKTION
 Den Stoffüberzug entfernen. Das Bauchlagerungskissen auf allen Seiten gemäß den krankenhausinternen Bestimmungen zur
Reinigung von Matratzen und ähnlichen Positionierprodukten mit Desinfektionsmittel reinigen.
 Das Bauchlagerungskissen Birdy muss vor jedem Einsatz an einem anderen Patienten gereinigt werden.
 Stoffbezüge können gemäß den geltenden Richtlinien gewaschen und wieder verwendet werden.
HINWEIS: KEINE PHENOLHALTIGEN DESINFEKTIONSMITTEL VERWENDEN. QUATERNÄRE / ISOPROPYL-DESINFEKTIONSMITTEL
WERDEN EMPFOHLEN.
WASCH- UND PFLEGEEMPFEHLUNGEN
Bauchlagerungskissen Birdy (100% PU): Geeignet für die klinische Wischdesinfektion gemäß den Krankenhausbestimmungen zur
Reinigung von Matratzen und ähnlichen Positionierprodukten. Das Bauchlagerungskissen nach der Anwendung an dem jeweiligen
Patienten visuell untersuchen und entsorgen, wenn eine Beschädigung sichtbar ist bzw. der Verdacht auf Kontaminierung besteht.
ACHTUNG: DAS BAUCHLAGERUNGSKISSEN NICHT WASCHEN ODER IN LAUGEN EINTAUCHEN!
Jersey-Überzug Bauchlagerungskissen (50% CO, 45% PES, 5% EL): Den Bezug zum Waschen entfernen. Für Waschmaschinen und
Trommeltrockner geeignet. Wir empfehlen Wäsche bis 95 °C mit desinfizierenden Waschfüllungen. Nur chlorfreies Bleichmittel
verwenden.

INTENDED USE
The Birdy Prone positioning cushion is a reusable support for prone positioning of preterm and full term infants. The cushion is shaped
to support the natural curvature of the shoulders, hand-mouth coordination and optimum alignment of the head and body. The benefits
of prone positioning include promotion of flexion of the extremities and alternate positioning to help reduce head flattening.
WARNINGS
Use under the direction of health care professional only.
Always use with a cover. Do not place the infant face down into the prone cushion Birdy in a way that could restrict
the infant´s airway.
Disinfect the prone cushion Birdy between each patient.
Do not place the cushion on top of the infant, on lines, or on tubes.
Inspect for defects and damage before using the prone cushion Birdy. Use only undamaged products. If the prone cushion Birdy is
damaged dispose in accordance with local regulations.

PREPARATION AND OPERATION
1. Select the correct prone cushion Birdy size according to infant body weight and proportions:
Less than 800g: Size Extra Small XS · 800g - 1,200g: Size Small S · 1,200 - 2,000g: Size Medium M · Over 2,000g: Size Large L
Proportions:
 The infant’s arms must line up with and tuck comfortably inside the notches.
 

2. Remove the prone cushion Birdy from its plastic packaging, and dispose of the bag properly. Carefully insert the prone cushion into
the cover as shown below.
3. Place the infant on the fully covered side of the prone cushion (on his or her stomach) so that the arms line up with the notches.
An appropriately sized prone cushion promotes rounded shoulders, provide head support, and not extend further in length than
the infant’s hips. The additional side flaps of the textile cover should be put around the pelvis for better stabilisation.
Consult your hospital’s physical or occupational therapist for assistance with correct positioning.
4. The use of a boundary positioning aid such as Comfy or Comfy Basic is recommended to provide stability on the prone cushion
as well as containment. Especially positioning roll Snake may be used in conjunction with the prone cushion for added boundary
around the infant’s head.

CLEANING AND DISINFECTING

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Prone cushion Birdy (100% PU): Wipeable with disinfectants according to hopital guidelines and procedures for cleaning mattresses
and similar positioning products. Visually inspect the prone cushion Birdy between each patient and discard if any visible damage or
suspect contamination is present.
CAUTION: DO NOT LAUNDER OR IMMERSE THE PRONE CUSHION BIRDY IN ANY SOLUTION.
Knit fabric cover (50% CO, 45% PES Trevira bioactive, 5% EL): Remove the cover for laundering. Machine wash and tumble dry in water
up to 230 °F (95 °C) .Use only non-chlorine bleach. After laundering, the cover should be stretched before replacing. Carefully insert
the prone cushion Birdy into the opening of the cover.

INDICATIONS D’UTILISATION
Le coussin Birdy pour positionnement ventral (Prone) est un support réutilisable destiné aux bébés prématurés ou nés à terme. La
forme du coussin a été étudiée pour soutenir et favoriser l’arrondi naturel des épaules, le contact main-bouche et l’alignement optimal
de la tête et du corps. Les bénéfices apportés par le positionnement ventral incluent la possibilité de flexion des membres et une
alternance de la position de la tête pour réduire le risque de déformation crânienne.
AVERTISSEMENTS
A utiliser exclusivement sous la supervision d’un professionnel de santé.
Toujours utiliser une housse de protection. Un contact direct avec la surface synthétique du coussin pourrait être la cause de
difficultés respiratoires pour le bébé.
Ne jamais positionner le visage du bébé contre le coussin Birdy d’une manière qui pourrait restreindre ou bloquer la respiration.
Désinfecter le coussin ventral Birdy entre chaque utilisation patient.
Inspecter le cousin ventral Birdy avant utilisation pour vérifier d’éventuels défauts ou dommages. N’utiliser que des dispositifs
intacts. Si le coussin ventral Birdy est endommagé le détruire en respectant les procédures de votre établissement hospitalier.

PRÉPARATION ET UTILISATION

2. Retirer le cousin ventral Birdy de son emballage et jeter ce dernier. Insérer avec précautions le coussin ventral dans la housse de
protection comme illustré ci-après.
3. Installer le bébé sur le côté du coussin ventral entièrement protégé par la housse (sur son estomac) et de façon à ce que ses bras
soient alignés au niveau des incurvations. Une taille idéale du coussin ventral doit favoriser l’arrondi des épaules, assurer le
support de la tête et ne pas dépasser en longueur plus que les hanches du bébé. Les lanières de la housse de protection doivent
être placées autour du bassin pour une meilleure stabilisation du bébé. Consulter les kinesithérapeutes ou psychomotricien(ne)s de
votre hôpital pour une assistance sur un positionnement adéquat.
4. L’utilisation d’un dispositif d’aide complémentaire au positionnement comme Comfy ou Comfy Basic est recommandée pour assurer
la stabilité sur le coussin ventral ainsi qu’un enveloppement. Le cylindre Snake peut également être utilisé en association avec le
coussin ventral pour ajouter une barrière autour de la tête du bébé.

NETTOYAGE ET DÉSINFECTION
 Retirer la house de protection en tissu. Essuyer le coussin ventral Birdy des deux côtés avec des désinfectants agréés par le CLIN
et en respectant les procédures hospitalières s’appliquant au nettoyage des matelas et matériels de positionnement similaires.
 Le cousin ventral Birdy doit impérativement être désinfecté entre chaque utilisation patient.
 Les housses de protection doivent être lavées et réutilisées en respectant les procédures et recommandations de votre Hôpital.
ATTENTION: NE PAS UTILISER DE DÉSINFECTANTS À BASE DE PHÉNOL. SONT CONSEILLÉS LES DÉSINFECTANTS À COMPOSÉ
QUATERNAIRE/ISOPROPYL.
SOINS ET ENTRETIEN
Coussin ventral Birdy (100% PU): Essuyage avec désinfectants en respectant les procédures hospitalières s’appliquant au nettoyage
des matelas et matériels de positionnement similaires. Entre chaque utilisation patient inspecter visuellement le coussin ventral Birdy
et le jeter s’il est endommagé ou susceptible d’être contaminé.
ATTENTION: NE PAS LAVER OU IMMERGER LE COUSSIN VENTRAL BIRDY DANS UN LIQUIDE.
Housse tissée (50% CO, 45% PES Trevira bioactive, 5% EL): Retirer la housse pour la laver. La température de lavage et séchage en
machine ne doit pas excéder 95 °C. Utiliser uniquement des agents de blanchiment sans chlore.the prone cushion Birdy into the
opening of the cover. Après le lavage la housse de protection doit être étirée avant de la replacer sur le coussin. Insérer ensuite avec
précaution le coussin ventral Birdy dans l’ouverture de la housse.

DESTINAZIONE D’USO
Il cuscino di posizionamento prono BIRDY è un supporto riutilizzabile per il posizionamento prono dei neonati, sia pretermine che a
termine. Il cuscino è conformato in modo da supportare la normale curvatura delle spalle, il coordinamento mano-bocca e il corretto
allineamento di testa e corpo. I benefici della posizione prona includono l’induzione alla flessione delle estremità e l’alternanza di
posizionamento che aiuta a ridurre l’incidenza della testa piatta nel neonato.
AVVERTENZE
Utilizzare solo secondo le direttive degli operatori sanitari.
Utilizzare sempre con la cover. Se il neonato è posto a diretto contatto con la superficie lavabile può andare incontro al
restringimento delle vie respiratorie.
Non porre il neonato a faccia in giù in una posizione tale da causare il restringimento delle sue viee respiratorie.
Disinfettare il cuscino prono Birdy tra un paziente e l’altro.
Non posizionare il cuscino sopra il neonato, sopra a circuiti o tubi.
Verificare l’ assenza di difetti o danni nel cuscino Birdy prima di utilizzarlo. Utilizzare il cuscino solo se privo di danni o difetti.
Se il cuscino è danneggiato, smaltirlo secondo le normative igienico-ambientali locali.

2. Rimuovere il cuscino Birdy dal suo involucro di plastica e smaltire correttamente l’involucro. Inserire con cura il cuscino Birdy
all’interno della cover come illustrato di seguito.
3. Posizionare il neonato sulla superficie del cuscino (sul suo stomaco) di modo che le braccia siano allineate con le curvature incave
del cuscino. Un cuscino Birdy della taglia corretta aiuta la rotazione delle spalle, fornisce un adeguato supporto alla testa e deve
terminare all’ altezza delle anche del neonato. Le fasce di tessuto addizionali alla normale cover possono essere messe attorno al
bacino del neonato per migliorarne la stabilità. Si può consultare il fisioterapista o l’ergoterapista per assistenza sul
corretto posizionamento.
4. L’ uso di un sistema di contenimento come Comfy o Comfy Basic è raccomandato per fornire stabilità al paziente sul cuscino di
posizionamento prono così come contenimento. Il sistema di posizionamento Snake può essere utilizzato in unione con il
cuscino Birdy per dare un ulteriore contenimento attorno alla testa del neonato.

PULIZIA E DISINFEZIONE
 Rimuovere la cover esterna. Pulire con un panno entrambi i lati del cuscino con disinfettante in accordo con le linee guida di
controllo delle infezioni vigenti e con il protocollo ospedaliero per la pulizia dei materassi e dei prodotti di posizionamento similari.
 Il cuscino di posizionamento Birdy deve essere disinfettato tra un paziente e l’altro.
 Le cover di tessuto possono essere lavate e riutilizzate in accordo con le procedure e i protocolli ospedalieri.
ATTENZIONE: NON USARE DISINFETTANTI A BASE DI FENOLO. SI RACCOMANDA L’USO DI DISINFETTANTI A BASE DI SALI
QUATERNARI DI AMMONIO O DISINFETTANTI ISOPROPILICI.
CURA E MANTENIMENTO
Cuscino di posizionamento Birdy (100% PU): Pulire con disinfettante in accordo con i protocolli ospedalieri per la pulizia dei materassi
e dei prodotti di posizionamento similari. Controllare il cuscino tra un paziente e l’altro ed evitare di utilizzarlo se presente il sospetto
di contaminazione o se visibilmente danneggiato.
ATTENZIONE: NON LAVARE O IMMERGERE IN ALCUNA SOLUZIONE IL CUSCINO BIRDY.
Cover di tessuto (50% CO, 45% PES Trevira bioactive, 5% EL): Rimuovere la cover prima del lavaggio. Possibile utilizzo di lavatrice
e asciugatrice fino a 95 °C. Utilizzare solo sbiancante senza cloro. Dopo il lavaggio, la cover deve essere stirata prima del riutilizzo.
Inserire il cuscino con cura all’interno dell’apertura della cover.

USO PREVISTO
El almohadón de posicionamiento Birdy Prone es un soporte reutilizable para la colocación prona de prematuros y niños a término.
El cojín está configurado para soportar la curvatura natural de los hombros, la coordinación mano-boca y la alineación óptima de la
cabeza y el cuerpo. Los beneficios del posicionamiento prono incluyen la promoción de la flexión de las extremidades y el
posicionamiento alternativo para ayudar a reducir el aplanamiento de la cabeza.
ADVERTENCIAS
Use bajo la dirección del profesional de la salud.
Utilice siempre con una cubierta. Si el niño se pone en contacto directo con la cubierta que se puede limpiar, puede causar
restricción de la vía aérea.
No coloque al bebé boca abajo en el cojín Birdy de manera que pueda restringir las vías respiratorias del bebé.
Desinfecte el cojín Birdy entre diferentes pacientes.
No coloque el cojín en la parte superior del bebé, en las líneas o en los tubos.
Inspeccione los defectos y daños antes de usar el cojín Birdy. Utilice únicamente productos no dañados. Si el almohadón prono
Birdy está dañado avisar de acuerdo con las regulaciones locales.
