• Operation / use of the Time Switch out of doors or in damp
areas is not allowed.
• Operation must not take place under unfavourable ambient
conditions. Unfavourable ambient conditions include:
- wetness or excessive air humidity,
- dust and combustible gases, fumes or solvents,
- thunderstorms or storm conditions producing strong elec-
trostatic fields, etc.
Any other use than as described above can lead to damage to the
unit or to the connected load(s). Moreover, this can be ac-
companied by hazards, such as for example short-circuit, fire,
electric shock, etc. No part of the product may be modified or
converted. The safety instructions are to be followed without
fail!
2. Introduction
The AC Timer is equipped with an earthed 2-pin "continental"
AC power plug and may require the use of an earthed mains
plug/socket adapter in certain countries. As required, household
equipment, lighting and audio systems etc. can be switched on
manually and automatically switched off automatically at
random times and/or at a certain brightness by means of the
built-in LDR (light-dependent resistor). Three different
programmes can be selected via the "MODE" switch. The
function of the light sensor can be reversed with the "S.C."
switch. The switching process can be made independent of time
by manually switching on or off with the "MANUAL" button. The
current switching status is indicated directly by the two-colour
"STATUS" LED (for checking purposes).

1. Intended use of the AC Timer:
• Brightness-dependent and/or Time-dependent or manual ope-
ration in conventional AC power sockets with a voltage of
230 Volt 50 Hz AC indoors.
• Only resistive, non-inductive loads requiring an AC operating
voltage between 220 and 240 VAC are permitted.

• In commercial facilities the accident-prevention regulations of
the Industrial Employers' Liability Association for electrical
systems and equipment must be observed.
• In schools, training facilities, hobby and self-help workshops,
the handling of electrical equipment must be supervised res-
ponsibly by trained personnel.
• Before putting into operation on each occasion, check the AC
Timer for damage.
• Do not use the AC Timer in areas or under adverse environ-
mental conditions, when combustible gases, fumes or dust are
present or can occur.
• The AC Timer case must not come into contact with hot objects
(hotplates, soldering irons, hot air equipment, etc.).
• Protect the AC Timer before, during and after use from beco-
ming wet and from condensing steam.
• Except where this can be performed manually, live parts may
be exposed when opening covers or removing components.
Connecting parts may also be live. Before any adjustment,
maintenance, repair or replacement of components or assem-
blies, if it is necessary to open the unit, it must be disconnected
from all voltage sources and circuits. If adjustment, mainte-
nance or repair is subsequently required on the opened unit
while it is live, these must only be performed by a specialist
familiar with the associated hazards and relevant regulations
(VDE-0100, VDE-0701, VDE-0683).
• Capacitors in the unit may remain charged even when the unit
has been isolated from all circuits.
• If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible,
then the unit must be switched off and protected against

The AC Timer functions as a random switch when operating in
"Mode 3". Independent of time and ambient light, the AC Timer
switches the connected load on or off again at indeterminate
times. This function is particularly interesting during absences in
that unwanted observers can thereby be led to believe that
somebody is at home.
The unit is only suitable for indoor use. When connecting or
disconnecting a load, without fail the hands, the shoes, the floor
and the connecting plug of the load must be dry.
3. Safety information
• The AC Timer is EMC-tested (for domestic not industrial areas)
and safety-tested and meets European directives 89/336/EU
and 73/23/EU.
• The AC Timer is supplied in perfect technically-safe condition.
To maintain this condition and to ensure safe operation, it is
essential for the user to observe "1. Intended use" and the
safety instructions and (Attention!) warning notes contained
in these user instructions.
• The unit is earthed throughout and may therefore only be
connected to and operated with an earthed 230 V AC supply
and an earthed mains plug/socket adapter as required in cer-
tain countries.
• Care must be taken to ensure that the (yellow/green) earth
lead remains in good condition in the unit and in the AC supp-
ly, because a damaged earth wire can endanger life. Care must
also be taken to ensure that insulation is neither damaged nor
destroyed.
• The AC Timer is not a toy and so does not belong in the hands
of children!

5. Connecting, putting into operation.
Plug the AC Timer into an earthed 230 V AC power socket, using
an earthed mains plug/socket adapter as required in certain
countries, such that the legends can be read (in a wall socket,
output socket to the left, control panel to the right). Plug in the
load while switched off, because plugging the load into the
power when switched on can cause arcing, which can in turn
damage or even destroy the AC Timer. When properly connected,
the "STATUS" LED flashes green (basic setting).
6. Programming
6.1 General
The two-colour "STATUS" LED indicates the present switching
status of the unit. By means of the following table, the AC Timer
status can be determined during use:

unintentional operation. Safe operation is to be considered no
longer possible when:
- the unit shows visible signs of damage,
- the unit no longer functions and
- after extended storage under adverse conditions
-or
- after severe transportation stress.
• Never operate the AC Timer immediately after it has been bro-
ught from a cold into a warm room. Under certain circum-
stances the resultant condensation water inside the case can
destroy it. Allow the unit to come to room temperature before
switching it on.

LED lights a steady red. The output remains switched on until
either sufficient light falls on the sensor (dawn or pocket lamp,
etc.) or the "Manual" button, the "MODE" switch or the "S.C."
switch is operated.
If the "S.C." switch is set to "REV", then the process or activati-
on is reversed: the switch switches on with sufficient light and
off with insufficient light.
b)MODE 2, light- and time-dependent mode
Set the "MODE" switch to position "2" and the "S.C." switch
to "NOR". The LED now flashes red. Press the "START" button.
As a result, the light-dependent resistor sensor is activated.
When the sensor is darkened, or twilight occurs (in the eve-
ning), the unit switches the output on at a random time. The
LED lights a steady red. After an indeterminate time the out-
put is switched off again. Should the ambient light not have
changed, the "random" process can repeat itself unpredictab-
ly often, without the "START" button having to be pressed
anew.
The output can be switched off manually, either by pressing
the "MANUAL" button or by moving the "MODE" or
"TIME/HR" switches."
If the "S.C." switch is set to "REV", then the process or activati-
on is reversed: the switch switches on with sufficient light and
off with insufficient light.
c)MODE 3, light-independent mode
Set the "MODE" switch to position "3". The "S.C." switch and
the light sensor are now switched out and are without influen-
ce. Then press the "START" button. As a result, at random
times thereafter the AC Timer output is switched on (the LED
lights a steady red) or switched off (the LED flashes red).
The output can be switched off either by pressing the
"MANUAL" button or by moving the "MODE" switch.

6.2 Manual operation
Manual operation is always useful, when the connected load is
to be operated independently of time. Press the "MANUAL"
button. The output of the AC Timer is now active (switched on,
LED a steady green), until the "MANUAL" button is pressed
again (switched off, LED flashing green).
6.3 Automatic operation
Automatic operation comprises three different switch
programmes: When the "MODE" switch is in the "1" position,
the Adapter can be used as a twilight switch (without time limit).
When the "MODE" switch is in the "2" position, the timer
switches on according to the ambient light and switches off once
the selected time has elapsed. If the "MODE" switch is in the "3"
position, the internal LDR is switched out and the unit operates
as a purely random switch.
a) MODE 1, light-dependent-only mode
Set the "MODE" switch to position "1" and the "S.C." switch
to "NOR" (= normal). The LED now flashes red. Press the
"START" button. As a result, the light-dependent resistor sen-
sor is activated. When the sensor is darkened, or twilight
occurs (in the evening), the unit switches the output on. The

7. Maintenance
Other than cleaning the case, the controls and the cover seal as
required, the AC Timer is maintenance-free. Under no circum-
stances may it be opened / dismantled. If despite this the unit is
opened, this voids the guarantee. To clean the unit, use a clean,
dry, lint-free, anti-static cleaning cloth.
Attention!
Do not use any carbonaceous cleaning agents or petroleum,
alcohol or similar for cleaning. These could attack the surface of
the case. Additionally, the fumes are explosive and endanger
health. When cleaning, also use no sharp-edged tools, screw-
drivers, metal brushes or similar.

différents peuvent être sélectionnés. A l'aide du commutateur
"S.C." la fonction du capteur de lumière peut être inversée (=
REV = reverse). Avec la touche "Manual", la mise hors de service
ou en service de la sortie peut indépendamment du temps être
commandée manuellement. Par la diode luminescente bicolore
"STATUS", la position respective de la commutation est
directement lisible (à des fins de contrôle).
En mode de fonctionnement "Mode 3" le minuteur AC
fonctionne comme un interrupteur aléatoire. Indépendamment
du temps et indépendamment de la luminosité ambiante. Le
minuteur met en service ou hors de service les consommateurs
branchés à des moments indéterminés en votre absence. Cette
fonction est particulièrement intéressante en votre absence. On
donne ici l'impression, que quelqu'un est à la maison.
L'appareil est uniquement homologué pour un usage à
l'intérieur. Lors du branchement ou du débranchement, les
mains, les chaussures et le sol respectivement la prise du
consommateur de courant doivent absolument se trouver dans
un état sec.
3. Consignes de sécurité
• Le Minuteur AC est contrôlé EMV (secteur ménager, pas pour
le secteur industriel) et contrôlé en ce qui concerne la sécurité
et répond aux normes européennes 89/336/CEE et 73/23/CEE.
• L'appareil a quitté l'usine en parfait état technique en ce qui
concerne la sécurité. Afin de maintenir cet état et de garantir
une utilisation sans danger, l'utilisateur devra respecter le cha-
pitre 1 “Utilisation conforme” ainsi que les indications de sécu-
rité et les avertissements de sécurité (Attention!) qui sont con-
tenus dans le présent mode d'emploi.
• L'appareil possède un conducteur de protection général et
doit ce fait être utilisé et branché que sur un réseau de tension
alternative de 230 V avec conducteur de protection.

• Comme consommateurs de courant, seules des charges ohmi-
ques qui fonctionnent sur une tension alternative entre 220 et
240 VAC (AC = grandeur alternative) sont autorisées. Des char-
ges inductives ne sont pas autorisées.
• Un fonctionnement / une utilisation du Minuteur AC à l'ex-
térieur ou en locaux humides n'est pas autorisé.
• Un fonctionnement sous des conditions d'environnement
défavorables n'est pas autorisé. Des conditions d'environne-
ment défavorables sont:
- humidité ou humidité relative de l'air trop élevée,
- la poussière, les gaz inflammables, les vapeurs et solvants,
- l'orage respectivement les conditions orageuses ainsi que les
puissants champs électrostatiques etc
Une utilisation autre que celle décrite ci-dessus, conduit à la
détérioration de l'appareil respectivement à l'endommagement
du/des consommateur(s) de courant branché(s). En plus, elle
engendrera des risques comme par ex. un court-circuit, un
incendie, une électrocution etc. Il est interdit de modifier ou de
transformer cet appareil dans son intégralité. Respecter
absolument les consignes de sécurité.
2. Introduction
Le Minuteur AC est muni d'une fiche de prise de courant
protégée et est enfichable uniquement sur des prises de courant
protégées du réseau 230 VAC. On peut donc, selon les besoins,
mettre en marche à la main (= manuellement) respectivement
arrêter automatiquement en fonction du temps et/ou en
fonction de la luminosité (par l'intermédiaire de la résistance
LDR intégrée = Light Sensor/capteur de lumière), des appareils
ménagers, des équipements d'éclairages ou du matériel audio
etc. A l'aide du commutateur "MODE" trois programmes

• Si vous ouvrez l'appareil ou si vous en retirez des éléments,
sauf si vous pouvez le faire uniquement à la main, vous risquez
de dégager des parties qui sont conductrices de courant. Des
zones à connecter peuvent aussi être conductrices. Avant tout
ajustage, tout service d'entretien, toute remise en état ou tout
échange de pièces ou de composants, vous devez débrancher
l'appareil de toute source électrique ou de tout circuit de
mesure. Si ensuite un ajustage, un entretien ou une réparation
doivent être pratiqués sur l'appareil ouvert et qu'une mise
sous tension est inévitable, seul un personnel averti et bien au
courant des risques électriques comme des consignes de sécu-
rité s'y rapportant (VDE 0100, V DE-0701, VDE-0683).
• Des condensateurs dans l'appareil peuvent encore être char-
gés, même lorsque l'appareil a été séparé de tous les circuits de
courant.
• Si vous constatez que vous ne pouvez plus travailler sans ris-
que, alors il est recommandé de mettre l'appareil hors service
et de s'assurer qu'il ne sera pas remis en marche involontaire-
ment. Vous ne pouvez plus travailler sans risque quand
- l'appareil présente des détériorations apparentes,
- l'appareil refuse de fonctionner et
- l'appareil est resté trop longtemps exposé à un environne-
ment défavorable
-ou
- après des conditions de transports difficiles.
• Ne branchez jamais l'appareil aussitôt après avoir quitté un
local froid pour rejoindre un local chaud. La condensation qui
peut être provoquée peut détruire votre appareil sous certai-
nes conditions. Laissez l'appareil débranché en attendant qu'il
s'acclimate à la température ambiante de la pièce.

• Il faudra veiller à ce que le conducteur de protection
(jaune/vert) ne soit pas interrompu ni dans l'appareil ni dans le
réseau, car en cas d'un conducteur de protection interrompu, il
y a danger de mort en cas de fonctionnement défectueux. Il
faudra veiller à ce que l'isolation ne soit ni endommagée ni
détruite.
• Le minuteur AC n'est pas un jouet et doit de ce fait pas parve-
nir entre les mains des enfants!
• Dans les entreprises à caractère industriel, les consignes pour la
prévention des risques d'accidents émises par la caisse de
prévoyance contre les accidents dans des installations et
exploitations électriques devront être respectées.
• Dans les écoles et instituts de formation, dans les ateliers de
bricolage ou de dépannage individuel, la manipulation de
Minuteur ACs doit intervenir sous l'encadrement d'un person-
nel qualifié responsable.
• Avant chaque mise en service, votre minuteur AC sera à con-
trôler qu'il ne présente pas de détérioration(s).
• N'utilisez pas le minuteur AC dans des locaux ou ambiances
défavorables, avec/ou dans lesquels des gaz ou vapeurs
inflammables ou poussières sont, ou peuvent être en présence.
• Eviter une utilisation en ambiance fortement humide et mou-
illée.
• Le boîtier du minuteur AC ne doit pas entrer en contact avec
des objets chauds (plaques de cuisinière, fers à souder,
appareils à air chaud, etc.).
• Protégez le minuteur AC, pendant et après son utilisation de
l'humidité directe respectivement de la vapeur condensante.

5. Connexion, mise en service
Reliez le minuteur AC à une prise de courant protégée présen-
tant 230 VAC de telle manière que l'inscription soit lisible (prise
murale; prise de sortie à gauche, tableau de commande à droite).
Branchez le consommateur se trouvant en état hors de service.
Hors de service pour la raison qu'un consommateur en service
lors du branchement sur le secteur pourra provoquer une forma-
tion d'étincelles, qui elle pourra endommager voire même
détruire la Minuteur AC. Une fois le branchement effectué, la
DEL "STATUS" clignote en couleur verte (réglage de base).
6. Programmation
6.1 Remarques générales
La diode luminescente "STATUS" indique l'état respectif de la
commutation de l'appareil. D'après le tableau suivant, vous
pouvez lors du fonctionnement voir l'état de commutation de
l'appareil:

6.2 Fonctionnement manuel
Le fonctionnement manuel est toujours judicieux lorsque l'on
veut utiliser le consommateur de courant connecté in-

mettra en service à la luminosité suffisante et éteindra à l'as-
sombrissement.
b)Mode 2 (MODE 2) en fonction de la luminosité et du temps au
hasard.
Positionnez le commutateur "MODE" sur "2" et le commuta-
teur "TIME/HR" sur la durée de fonctionnement choisie." La
DEL clignote maintenant en rouge. Actionnez la touche
"START". La résistance photosensible est alors activée. Après
camouflage du capteur respectivement à la tombée du crépus-
cule (le soir), l'appareil met en service (active) la sortie. La DEL
reste allumée en rouge (en permanence). La sortie est mise
hors de service après un temps indéterminé. Si la luminosité
ambiante ne s'est pas modifiée, l'opération "aléatoire" pourra
se répéter indéfiniment sans que la touche Start soit à nou-
veau à actionner.
La sortie peut être mise hors de service manuellement par
action sur la touche "Manual" ou par le commutateur
"MODE" ou par le commutateur "TIME/HR".
Si le commutateur "S.C." est positionné sur "REV", l'opération
respectivement l'activation sera inversée: le commutateur met
en service et hors de service aléatoirement en cas de lumino-
sité suffisante.
c) Mode 3 (MODE 3) indépendant de la luminosité
Positionnez le commutateur "MODE" sur "3". Le commutateur
"S.C." respectivement le capteur de luminosité ne sont pas en
fonction, donc sans influence. Ensuite actionnez la touche
"START". Ensuite la sortie du minuteur AC est mise en service á
un moment indéterminé (la DEL reste allumée en permanence
en rouge) respectivement hors de service (la DEL clignote en
rouge). L'appareil passe automatiquement au mode
"MANUAL" (fonctionnement manuel). La DEL "STATUS" clig-
note en couleur verte.
La mise hors de service de la sortie est possible également pen-
dant l'intervalle de fonctionnement soit en actionnant la

dépendamment d'une limitation de temps. Pour cela actionnez

maintenant activée (en service, la DEL reste allumée en
permanence en couleur verte), jusqu'à ce que la touche
"MANUAL" soit à nouveau actionnée (hors de service, DEL
clignote en vert).
6.3 Fonctionnement automatique
Le fonctionnement automatique comprend trois programmes
sélectionnables différents: Si le commutateur "MODE" est posi-
tionné sur "1", le minuteur peut être utilisé comme interrupteur
crépusculaire (sans limitation de temps). Si le commutateur
"MODE" est positionné sur "2", le minuteur (timer) est mis en
service en fonction de la luminosité ambiante et mis hors de
service après écoulement du temps choisi. Si le commutateur
"MODE" est positionné sur "3", la résistance LDR intégrée est
mise hors de circuit et l'appareil peut être utilisé comme "pur"
interrupteur aléatoire (= Random Switch).
a)Mode 1 (MODE 1) uniquement fonction de la luminosité
Positionnez le commutateur "MODE" sur "1" et le commuta-
teur "TIME/HR" sur la durée de fonctionnement choisie." La
DEL clignote maintenant en rouge. Actionnez la touche
"START".". La résistance photosensible est alors activée. Après
camouflage du capteur respectivement à la tombée du crépus-
cule (le soir), l'appareil met en service (active) la sortie. La DEL
reste allumée en rouge (en permanence). La sortie reste aussi
longtemps en service jusqu'à ce qu'assez de lumière "tombe"
sur le capteur (à l'aube ou lampe de poche) ou que la touche
"Manual" ou le commutateur "MODE" ou le commutateur
"S.C." vient à être actionné.
Si le commutateur "S.C." est positionné sur "REV", l'opération
respectivement l'activation est inversée: le commutateur se

7. Entretien
La Minuteur AC nécessite, mis à part d'un nettoyage occasionnel
du boîtier et des éléments de commande, aucun entretien. Elle
ne doit en aucun cas être ouverte/démontée. Si malgré tout
l'appareil vient à être ouvert, la garantie ne sera plus applicable.
Pour le nettoyage, vous utiliserez un chiffon de nettoyage,
propre, sec, non-pelucheux, antistatique.
Attention!
Pour le nettoyage, n'utilisez pas de produits de nettoyage qui
contiennent du carbone ou des essences, des alcools ou
similaires. La surface le Minuteur AC peut en être altérée. De
plus les vapeurs en sont nocives à la santé et explosives. Pour le
nettoyage, n'utilisez pas d'outillages pointus, tournevis ou des
brosses en métal ou similaires.

• Als Verbraucher sind nur ohm’sche und keine induktiven
Lasten zulässig, die mit einer Wechselspannung zwischen 220
und 240 VAC (AC = Wechselgröße) betrieben werden.
• Ein Betrieb unter widrigen Umgebungsbedingungen ist nicht
zulässig. Widrige Umgebungsbedingungen sind:
- Nässe oder zu hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit
- Staub und brennbare Gase, Dämpfe oder Lösungsmittel
- Gewitter bzw. Gewitterbedingungen, wie starke elektrostati-
sche Felder usw.
Eine andere Verwendung als zuvor beschrieben, führt zur Be-
schädigung des Gerätes bzw. zur Schädigung der(des) ange-
schlossenen Verbraucher(s). Außerdem ist dies mit Gefahren, wie
z. B. Kurzschluß, Brand, elektrischer Schlag etc. verbunden. Das
gesamte Produkt darf nicht geändert, bzw. umgebaut werden.
Die Sicherheitshinweise sind unbedingt zu beachten.
2. Einführung
Der „AC-Timer“ ist mit einem Schutzkontaktstecker versehen
und paßt somit nur in Schutzkontaktsteckdosen des 230-VAC-
Netzes. Es können damit, je nach Bedarf, Haushaltsgeräte,
Beleuchtungs- und Audioeinrichtungen usw. von Hand (= manu-
ell) bzw. automatisch zufällig (zu unbestimmter Zeit) oder hellig-
keitsabhängig (über den eingebauten LDR-Widerstand = Light
Sensor) ein- oder ausgeschaltet werden. Über den Schalter
„MODE“ sind drei verschiedene Programme einstellbar. Mit dem
Schalter „S.C.“ läßt sich die Funktion des Licht-Sensors umdrehen
(= REV = reverse). Mit dem Taster „Manual“ kann der Schaltaus-
gang von Hand zeitunabhängig ein- oder ausgeschaltet werden.
Über die zweifarbige Leuchtdiode „STATUS“ ist der jeweilige
Schaltzustand direkt ablesbar (zur Kontrolle).
In der Betriebsart „Mode 3“ funktioniert der AC-Timer als
Zufallsschalter. Zeitunabhängig und unabhängig von der Umge-

• In Schulen, Ausbildungseinrichtungen, Hobby- und Selbsthilfe-
werkstätten ist der Umgang mit Zeitschaltern durch geschultes
Personal verantwortlich zu überwachen.
• Überprüfen Sie vor jeder Inbetriebnahme Ihren AC-Timer auf
Beschädigung(en).
• Betreiben Sie den AC-Timer nicht in Räumen oder bei widrigen
Umgebungsbedingungen, in/bei welchen brennbare Gase
Dämpfe oder Stäube vorhanden sind oder vorhanden sein
können.
• Das Gehäuse des Zwischensteckers darf nicht mit heißen
Gegenständen (Herdplatten, Lötkolben, Heißluftgeräten,
usw.) in Berührung kommen.
• Schützen Sie den AC-Timer vor, während und nach seiner Ver-
wendung vor direkter Nässe bzw. kondensierendem Dampf.
• Beim Öffnen von Abdeckungen oder Entfernen von Teilen,
außer wenn dies von Hand möglich ist, können spannungs-
führende Teile freigelegt werden. Es können auch Anschluß-
stellen spannungsführend sein. Vor einem Abgleich, einer
Wartung, einer Instandsetzung oder einem Austausch von Tei-
len oder Baugruppen, muß das Gerät von allen Stromkreisen
getrennt sein, wenn ein Öffnen des Gerätes erforderlich ist.
Wenn danach ein Abgleich, eine Wartung oder eine Reparatur
am geöffneten Gerät unter Spannung unvermeidlich ist, darf
das nur durch eine Fachkraft geschehen, die mit den damit
verbundenen Gefahren bzw. den einschlägigen Vorschriften
dafür (VDE-0100, VDE-0701, VDE-0683) vertraut ist.
• Kondensatoren im Gerät können noch geladen sein, selbst
wenn das Gerät von allen Stromkreisen getrennt wurde.

tion ist besonders bei Ihrer Abwesenheit interessant. Es wird
damit „vorgegaukelt“, es sei jemand zu Hause.
Das Gerät ist nur für den Innenbereich zugelassen. Beim An-
schluß oder Ausstecken eines Verbrauchers müssen die Hände,
die Schuhe und der Boden bzw. der Anschlußstecker des Ver-
brauchers unbedingt trocken sein.
3. Sicherheitshinweise
• Der AC-Timer ist EMV-geprüft (Hausbereich, nicht Industriebe-
reich) und sicherheitsgeprüft und entspricht den europäischen
Richtlinien 89/336/EWG und 73/23/EWG.
• Das Gerät hat das Werk in sicherheitstechnisch einwandfreiem
Zustand verlassen. Um diesen Zustand zu erhalten und einen
gefahrlosen Betrieb sicherzustellen, muß der Anwender das
Kapitel 1 „Bestimmungsgemäßer Einsatz“ und die Sicherheits-
hinweise und Warnvermerke (Achtung!) unbedingt beachten,
die in dieser Gebrauchsanweisung enthalten sind.
• Das Gerät ist mit einem durchgeführten Schutzleiter versehen
und darf somit nur an 230-V-Wechselspannungsnetzen mit
Schutzleiter angeschlossen und betrieben werden.
• Es ist darauf zu achten, daß der Schutzleiter (gelb/grün) weder
im Gerät noch im Netz unterbrochen wird, da bei unterbroche-
nem Schutzleiter im Fehlerfall Lebensgefahr besteht. Es ist
weiterhin darauf zu achten, daß die Isolierung weder beschä-
digt noch zerstört wird.
• Der AC-Timer ist kein Spielzeug und gehört somit keinesfalls in
Kinderhände!
• In gewerblichen Einrichtungen sind die Unfallverhütungsvor-
schriften des Verbandes der gewerblichen Berufsgenossen-

5. Anschluß, Inbetriebnahme
Verbinden Sie den AC-Timer mit einer 230-VAC-Schutzkontakt-
steckdose so, daß die Beschriftung lesbar ist (Wandsteckdose;
Steckdose links, Bedienfeld rechts). Schließen Sie den ausgeschal-
teten Verbraucher an. Ausgeschaltet deshalb, weil es bei einem
eingeschalteten Verbraucher beim Anschluß ans Netz zu einer
Funkenbildung kommen kann, welche widerum den AC-Timer
beschädigen oder gar zerstören kann. Nach erfolgtem Anschluß
blinkt die LED „STATUS“ grünleuchtend (Grundeinstellung).
6. Programmierung
6.1 Allgemein
Die zweifarbige Leuchtdiode „STATUS“ zeigt den jeweiligen
Schaltzustand des Gerätes an. Anhand folgender Tabelle können
Sie während des Betriebes ersehen, in welchem Schaltzustand
sich Ihr Gerät befindet:

• Wenn ein gefahrloser Betrieb nicht mehr möglich ist, so ist das
Gerät außer Betrieb zu setzen und gegen unbeabsichtigten
Betrieb zu sichern. Es ist anzunehmen, daß ein gefahrloser
Betrieb nicht mehr möglich ist, wenn
- das Gerät sichtbare Beschädigungen aufweist,
- das Gerät nicht mehr arbeitet und
- nach längerer Lagerung unter ungünstigen Verhältnissen
oder
- nach schweren Transportbeanspruchungen.
• Betreiben Sie den AC-Timer niemals gleich dann, wenn er von
einem kalten in einen warmen Raum gebracht wird. Das dabei
entstandene Kondenswasser im Innern des Gehäuses kann
unter Umständen Ihren Timer zerstören. Lassen Sie das Gerät
uneingeschaltet auf Zimmertemperatur kommen.

a)Modus 1 (MODE 1) nur helligkeitsabhängig
Stellen Sie den Schalter „MODE“ auf Stellung „1“ und den
Schalter „S.C.“ auf „NOR“ (= normal). Die Led blinkt nun rot-
leuchtend. Betätigen Sie den Taster „START“. Daraufhin wird
der lichtempfindliche Widerstand aktiviert. Bei Abdunklung
des Sensors, bzw. Einbruch der Dämmerung (abends), schaltet
das Gerät den Ausgang ein. Die Led leuchtet rot (dauernd).
Der Ausgang bleibt solange eingeschaltet, bis entweder genü-
gend Licht auf den Sensor „fällt“ (Morgendämmerung oder
Taschenlampe usw.) oder der Taster „Manual“ oder der Schal-
ter „MODE“ oder der Schalter „S.C.“ betätigt wird.
Wird der Schalter „S.C.“ auf „REV“ gestellt, so wird der Vor-
gang bzw. die Aktivierung umgedreht: Der Schalter schaltet
bei ausreichender Helligkeit ein und bei Abdunkelung aus.
b)Modus 2 (MODE 2) helligkeits- und zufalls-zeitabhängig
Stellen Sie den Schalter „MODE“ auf Stellung „2“ und den
Schalter „S.C.“ auf „NOR“. Sie Status-Led blinkt nun rotleuch-
tend. Betätigen Sie den Taster „START“. Daraufhin wird der
lichtempfindliche Widerstand aktiviert. Bei Abdunklung des
Sensors, bzw. Einbruch der Dämmerung (abends), schaltet das
Gerät den Ausgang irgendwann zu unbestimmter Zeit / zufäl-
lig ein. Die Led leuchtet rot (dauernd). Nach unbestimmter Zeit
wird der Ausgang wieder abgeschaltet. Falls sich die Umge-
bungshelligkeit nicht geändert hat, kann sich der „zufällige“
Vorgang unbestimmt oft wiederholen, ohne daß die Starttaste
erneut betätigt werden muß.
Der Ausgang läßt sich von Hand abschalten, wenn Sie entwe-
der den Taster „Manual“ oder den Schalter „MODE“ oder den
Schalter „S.C.“ betätigen.
Wird der Schalter „S.C.“ auf „REV“ gestellt, so wird der Vor-
gang bzw. die Aktivierung umgedreht: Der Schalter schaltet
bei ausreichender Helligkeit zufällig ein und aus.

6.2 Handbetrieb
Der manuelle Betrieb ist immer dann sinnvoll, wenn man den
angeschlossenen Verbraucher unabhängig von einer Zeit- oder
Helligkeitsbegrenzung betreiben will. Dazu betätigen Sie den
Taster „MANUAL“. Der Ausgang des AC-Timers ist nun solange
aktiv (eingeschaltet, LED leuchtet dauernd grün), bis Sie den
Taster „MANUAL“ erneut betätigen (ausgeschaltet, LED blinkt
grün).
6.3 Automatikbetrieb
Der Automatikbetrieb umfaßt drei verschiedene Schaltprogram-
me: Steht der Schalter „MODE“ auf Stellung „1“, kann der Zwi-
schenstecker als Dämmerungsschalter (ohne Zeitbegrenzung)
verwendet werden. Steht der Schalter „MODE“ auf „2“, wird der
Timer abhängig von der Umgebungshelligkeit zufällig einge-
schaltet und abgeschaltet. Steht der Schalter „MODE“ auf Stel-
lung „3“, so wird der interne LDR-Widerstand weggeschaltet
und das Gerät läßt sich als „reiner“ Zufallsschalter (= Random
Switch) verwenden.

Stellen Sie den Schalter „MODE“ auf Stellung „3“. Der Schalter
„S.C.“ bzw. der Helligkeitssensors sind nun weggeschaltet,
ohne Einfluß. Anschließend betätigen Sie den „START“-Taster.
Daraufhin wird der Ausgang des AC-Timer irgendwann einge-
schaltet (die LED leuchtet dauernd rot) bzw. ausgeschaltet (die
LED blinkt rot). Das Gerät geht automatisch in den
„MANUAL“-Modus über (Handbetrieb). Die Led „STATUS“
blinkt grünleuchtend.
Eine Abschaltung des Ausganges ist entweder durch Betäti-
gung des Tasters „MANUAL“ oder durch Betätigung des Schal-
ters „MODE“ möglich.
7. Wartung
Der AC-Timer ist, bis auf eine gelegentliche Reinigung des
Gehäuses und der Stellelemente, wartungsfrei. Er darf auf kei-
nen Fall geöffnet/zerlegt werden. Wird das Gerät trotzdem
geöffnet, so erlischt der Garantieanspruch. Zur Reinigung neh-
men Sie ein sauberes, trockenes, fusselfreies, antistatisches Reini-
gungstuch.
Achtung!
Verwenden Sie zur Reinigung keine carbonhaltigen Reinigungs-
mittel oder Benzine, Alkohole oder ähnliches. Dadurch wird die
Oberfläche des Gehäuses angegriffen. Außerdem sind die
Dämpfe gesundheitsschädlich und explosiv. Verwenden Sie zur
Reinigung auch keine scharfkantigen Werkzeuge, Schrauben-
dreher oder Metallbürsten o.ä.

• Als verbruikers zijn alleen Ohmse en geen inductieve lasten
toegestaan, die werken op een wisselspanning tussen 220 en
240 VAC (AC = wisselspanning).
• Gebruik onder ongunstige omgevingsomstandigheden is niet
toegestaan. Ongunstige omgevingsomstandigheden zijn:
- natheid of een te hoge luchtvochtigheid
- stof en brandbare gassen, dampen of oplosmiddelen
- onweer resp. onweersachtige omstandigheden, zoals sterke
elektrostatische velden enz.
Een andere toepassing dan hierboven beschreven leidt tot
beschadiging van het apparaat resp. tot beschadiging van de
aangesloten verbruiker(s). Bovendien zijn hieraan gevaren, zoals
b.v. kortsluiting, brand, elektrische schok enz. verbonden. Het
totale product mag niet veranderd resp. omgebouwd worden. U
dient zich beslist te houden aan de aanwijzingen betreffende de
veiligheid.
2. Introductie
De „AC-Timer“ is voorzien van een stekker met randaarde en
past derhalve alleen in geaarde wandcontactdozen. Hiermee
kunnen, afhankelijk van wat u nodig hebt, huishoudelijke appa-
raten, verlichting en audio-apparatuur enz. met de hand
(= handmatig), resp. automatisch toevallig (op onbepaalde tijd-
stippen) of afhankelijk van de hoeveelheid licht (via de inge-
bouwde LDR-weerstand = lichtsensor) in- of uitgeschakeld wor-
den. Via de schakelaar „MODE“ kunt u drie verschillende pro-
gramma’s instellen. Met de schakelaar „S.C.“ kan de functie van
de lichtsensor omgedraaid worden (= REV = reverse). Met de
toets „Manual“ kan de schakeluitgang met de hand onafhanke-
lijk van de tijd in- of uitgeschakeld worden. Via de tweekleurige
lichtdiode „STATUS“ kan de desbetreffende schakelaartoestand
direct afgelezen worden (ter controle). In de werkingssoort

• In scholen, opleidingsinstituten, hobby- en doe-het-zelf-werk-
plaatsen dient het omgaan met tijdschakelaars te geschieden
onder toezicht van geschoold personeel.
• Controleer iedere keer voordat u de AC-Timer gebruikt of
deze niet beschadigd is.
• Gebruik deze timer niet in ruimtes of bij ongunstige omge-
vingsomstandigheden, waarin/-bij brandbare gassen, dampen
of stof aanwezig (kunnen) zijn.
• De behuizing van de AC-timer mag niet in aanraking komen
met hete voorwerpen (soldeerbout, ventilator, kookplaat
enz.).
• Bescherm de AC-Timer voor, tijdens en na het gebruik tegen
direct vocht resp. tegen condenserende damp.
• Bij het openen van deksels of het verwijderen van onderdelen,
behalve als dat met de hand mogelijk is, kunnen spanningvoe-
rende delen blootgelegd worden. Ook aansluitpunten kunnen
spanningvoerend zijn. Voor een afregeling, onderhoud,
inbouwen of vervangen van onderdelen of modules dient het
apparaat van alle spanningsbronnen losgemaakt te zijn. Als
een afregeling, onderhoud of reparatie aan het geopende
apparaat onder spanning noodzakelijk is, mag dat alleen door
een vakman gebeuren, die met de daaraan verbonden geva-
ren, resp. de betreffende voorschriften vertrouwd is (VDE-
0100, VDE-0701, VDE-0683).
• Condensatoren in het apparaat kunnen nog geladen zijn, zelfs
als het apparaat van alle spanningsbronnen losgemaakt is.
• Als er aangenomen kan worden, dat gebruik zonder gevaar
niet meer mogelijk is, moet het apparaat buiten werking
gesteld worden en beschermd worden tegen het per ongeluk

„Mode 3“ functioneert de AC-Timer als toevalsschakelaar. Onaf-
hankelijk van de tijd en onafhankelijk van de hoeveelheid licht in
de omgeving schakelt de timer op onbepaalde tijdstippen de
aangesloten verbruiker in resp. weer uit. Deze functie is vooral
tijdens uw afwezigheid interessant. Er wordt hiermee voorge-

Het apparaat is alleen toegestaan voor gebruik binnenshuis. Bij
het aansluiten of er uithalen van een verbruiker moeten uw han-
den, uw schoenen en de vloer resp. de aansluitstekker van de
verbruiker beslist droog zijn.
3. Aanwijzingen betreffende de veiligheid
• De AC-Timer is EMV-getest (huisbereik, niet voor industrieel
gebruik) en tevens getest op veiligheid en voldoet aan de
Europese richtlijnen 89/336/EWG en 73/23/EWG.
• De timer heeft de fabriek in veiligheidstechnisch perfecte staat
verlaten. Om dit zo te houden en zeker te zijn van veilig
gebruik, moet de gebruiker zich beslist houden aan hoofdstuk
1 „Gebruik waarvoor de AC-Timer bedoeld is“ en aan de aan-
wijzingen betreffende de veiligheid en de waarschuwingen
(Let op!), die in deze gebruiksaanwijzing staan.
• Het apparaat is voorzien van een doorgevoerde aardleiding en
mag daarom alleen aangesloten worden op en werken via het
230-V-wisselspanningsnet met aarding.
• U dient er op te letten, dat de aardleiding (geel/groen) noch in
het apparaat, noch in het net onderbroken wordt, aangezien
er bij een onderbroken aardleiding in het geval van een sto-
ring een levensgevaarlijke situatie ontstaat. U dient er verder
op te letten, dat de isolatie noch beschadigd, noch vernield
wordt.
• De AC-Timer is geen speelgoed en hoort niet thuis in kinder-
handen!

5. Aansluiting, ingebruikname
Verbind de AC-Timer dusdanig met een 230-VAC-geaarde wand-
contactdoos, dat de opschriften leesbaar zijn (wandcontactdoos:
stekker links, bedieningsgedeelte rechts). Sluit de uitgeschakelde
verbruiker aan. Uitgeschakeld, omdat er bij de aansluiting op het
net vonken kunnen ontstaan, die op hun beurt de timer kunnen
beschadigen of zelfs kapot kunnen maken. Nadat de verbruiker
aangesloten is, knippert de LED „STATUS“ groen (basisinstelling).
6. Programmering
6.1 Algemeen
De tweekleurige lichtdiode „STATUS“ geeft de betreffende scha-
keltoestand van het apparaat aan. Aan de hand van de volgende
tabel kunt u tijdens het gebruik zien, in welke toestand het
apparaat zich bevindt:

in werking stellen door derden. U kunt er van uitgaan dat
gebruik zonder gevaar niet meer mogelijk is, als:
- het apparaat zichtbaar beschadigd is
- het apparaat niet meer werkt en
- het apparaat langere tijd onder ongunstige omstandigheden
opgeslagen is of
- na transport onder moeilijke omstandigheden.
• Neem de AC-Timer nooit direct in gebruik, als deze van een
koude naar een warme ruimte gebracht wordt. Het daarbij
ontstane condenswater binnen in de behuizing kan onder
omstandigheden uw timer stukmaken. Laat het apparaat
oningeschakeld op kamertemperatuur komen.

„START“. Daardoor wordt de lichtgevoelige weerstand geac-
tiveerd. Als de sensor verduisterd wordt resp. bij het invallen
van de schemering (‘s avonds), schakelt het apparaat de uit-
gang in. De LED brandt continu rood. De uitgang blijft zo lang
ingeschakeld, tot er of weer genoeg licht op de sensor „valt“
(ochtendschemering of zaklantaarn enz.), of de toets
„MANUAL“ of de schakelaar „MODE“ of de schakelaar „S.C.“
ingedrukt wordt.
b)Mode 2 licht- en toeval-/tijdafhankelijk.
Zet schakelaar „MODE“ in positie „2“ en de schakelaar „S.C.“
op „NOR“. De LED knippert nu rood. Druk op de toets
„START“. Daardoor wordt de lichtgevoelige sensor geac-
tiveerd. Als de sensor verduisterd wordt resp. bij het invallen
van de schemering (‘s avonds), schakelt het apparaat op een
onbepaald tijdstip/toevallig de uitgang in. De LED brandt con-
tinu rood. Na onbepaalde tijd wordt de uitgang weer uitge-
schakeld. Als de helderheid van de omgeving niet veranderd
is, kan deze „toevallige“ procedure onbepaald vaak herhaald
worden, zonder dat de starttoets opnieuw ingedrukt hoeft te
worden. De uitgang kan handmatig uitgeschakeld worden, als
u of de toets „MANUAL“ of de schakelaar „MANUAL“ of de
schakelaar „S.C.“ gebruikt.
Als de schakelaar „S.C.“ op „REV“ gezet wordt, dan wordt de
procedure resp. de activering omgedraaid: de schakelaar scha-
kelt bij voldoende licht toevallig in en uit.
c) Mode 3 onafhankelijk van het licht.
Zet de schakelaar „MODE“ in positie 3. De schakelaar „S.C.“
resp. de lichtsensor zijn nu weggeschakeld, zonder invloed.
Aansluitend drukt u op de „START“-toets. Daarop wordt de
uitgang van de AC-Timer op een willekeurig moment inge-
schakeld (de LED brandt constant rood) resp. uitgeschakeld
(LED knippert rood). Het apparaat gaat automatisch over op
de „MANUAL“-mode (handmatig gebruik). De LED „STATUS“
knippert groen. Het uitschakelen van de uitgang is mogelijk

6.2 Handmatig gebruik
Handmatig gebruik heeft zin, als u de aangesloten verbruiker
onafhankelijk van een tijds- of lichthoeveelheidsbegrenzing wilt
laten werken. Daartoe drukt u op de toets „MANUAL“. De uit-
gang van de AC-Timer is nu zo lang actief (ingeschakeld, LED
brandt continu groen), tot u opnieuw op de toets „MANUAL“
drukt (uitgeschakeld, LED knippert groen).
6.3 Automatisch gebruik
Het automatisch gebruik kent drie verschillende schakelpro-
gramma’s: Als de schakelaar „MODE“ in stand „1“ staat, dan kan
de AC-Timer als schemerschakelaar (zonder tijdslimiet) gebruikt
worden. Als de schakelaar „MODE“op „2“ staat, dan wordt de
timer afhankelijk van de helderheid van de omgeving ingescha-
keld en na afloop van de gekozen tijd uitgeschakeld. Als schake-
laar „MODE“ in positie „3“ staat, dan wordt de interne LDR-
weerstand uitgeschakeld en het apparaat kan als „pure“ toevals-
schakelaar (= Random Switch) gebruikt worden.
a)Mode 1 alleen licht-afhankelijk.
