ELECTRONIC WATER TIMER INSTRUCTIONS
Model 56611 Specications
Water Connection: 3/4”

Batteries: 2 - “AA”
Low battery Detection: [ LOW BAT] will display on LCD.
Timer will stop running when battery voltage is low.
If timer is running it will automatically shut-off.
Note: Batteries should last 1 season with average usage.
Use of the mist cycle will shorten battery life.
Important Safety Information
1. Warning: This timer is intended for outdoor, residential watering
applications only. Not intended for indoor or commercial use.
2. Use fabric reinforced hoses only; damaged or cracked hoses should
not be used.
3. Remove the timer from the faucet during freezing weather and store
inside. Exposure to temperatures below 0°C (32°F) may damage the unit.
4. Timer should not be submerged in water, used in damp pits, or buried.
5. Check connections regularly for a tight seal.
6. Whenusingforthersttime,observetheprogressforoneweekto
ensure that it is operating properly.
7. Before a long absence/vacation, insert new batteries and test your program.

8. When storing, turn to the [OFF] position. Make sure the unit is completely
empty of water and in a frost-free environment only. Remove the batteries.
9. Use 2”AA” alkaline batteries only. Do not use rechargeable batteries.
Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard
(carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
10. Install new batteries at the start of the watering season.
11. Use timer in the proper orientation only; do not use sideways, upside
down, etc.
12. No user-serviceable parts inside timer housing. Opening housing will
void warranty and cause potential leakage.
13. CAUTION: This timer contains internal electronic components that are
susceptible to damage by static electricity. If your timer begins to
malfunction, it is possible that your timer has been exposed to static
electricity. In such an event, you may reset your timer by removing and
reinserting the batteries.
14. CAUTION: Detach timer from spigot during freezing weather. Do not
use with water exceeding 38°C (100°F) or with pressures exceeding
6,9 BARS (100 psi). For pressures exceeding 6,9 BARS (100 psi),
consult a local plumber for pressure regulation. Avoid pulling or tugging
on the hose as damage to the timer may result.
Operating Instructions
Peel off clear protective label from
LCD before using.
I. INSERT BATTERIES
NOTE: Before every battery change, turn off timer’s water supply at your
outdoor faucet and then remove the timer from the faucet.

TIP: Clean metal contacts with a clean cloth when replacing batteries
1. Remove battery cover plate on the timer.
2. Insert 2 – “AA” batteries as pictured (on back cover)
NOTE: When changing batteries (after the initial installation), the time and
programs will be maintained if battery change occurs within 10 seconds.
II. PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS
*Both sides of the timer are programmable or manually operated. To program
your Nelson 56611 timer, rotate the dial clockwise to the appropriate selection:
SET TIME; PROGRAM; SET; REVIEW; SELECT; RUN; ERASE; OFF
A. Turn dial to [SET TIME]
1.Tosetthecurrenttime:Hourontheclockwillash.Usethe[+]buttonto
increase hour displayed. Use the [-] to decrease hour displayed. Press [ENTER]
to select the correct current hour.
2.Tosettheminutes:Afteryouhaveselectedthehour,theminuteswillash.
Use[+]and[-]asabovetoreachthecorrectminute.Press[ENTER]toselect
the correct current minute.
3.TosetAM/PM:press[+]or[-].Press[ENTER]
to select.
TIP:Holding[+]or[-]buttonallowsyoutoscrollmorequicklythrough
your time selection.
NOTE: Clock is set on standard time. To change to military (24 hour) time,
depressboth[+]and[-]buttonssimultaneouslyandholdfor5seconds.
Ifswitchedtomilitarytime,depressboth[+]or[-]buttonstoreturntostandard
time.

4. Tosetthecurrentday:Usethe[+]and[-]buttonstoscrolltothe
current day of the week. When the correct day is lit, press [ENTER] to select.
B. Turn dial to [SET]
NOTE: For[PROGRAMSET]functions,usethe[+]and[-]buttonsto
advance/go back through the selection options. When you have reached the
desired settings, press [ENTER] to select.
NOTE: The Mist function is a program setting itself and can not be assigned to
other programs. the maximum time for the Mist cycle is 3 hours per day.
1. To enter a program:
a. First,scrollbetweenRight(R)outletandLeft(L)outletbydepressing[+].
You may choose to program the RIGHT outlet and / or the LEFT outlet. When
you have the correct outlet highlighted you may select by pressing [ENTER].
b. Next,scrollthroughtheprogram#’sbydepressing[+].Tostartwith
Program1,press[ENTER]whenthe1islit(sameprocessfor2-7+Mist).
c. Onceaprogram#hasbeenentered,thestarttimewillash.Togglethrough
thetimes,usingthe[+]and[-]buttonsuntilyoureachthedesiredstarttime.
Press [ENTER] to select.
d. Afterastarttimehasbeenselected,thestoptimewillash.Selectastop
time in the same manner as above. Maximum time allowed is 180 minutes.
e. WATERING DAYS
Select the day(s) you would like to water. Press [ADD] to select each day de-
sired. Press [SKIP] to skip a day. When all watering days you need are
selected, press [ENTER]. You must press [ENTER] to complete your selection.
f. MIST CYCLE (on the LCD screen following the #7)
The mist cycle is set up for 20 seconds ON, 5 minutes OFF. Enter a start
time and a stop time and the timer will continue on the ON 20 seconds, OFF 5

minutes cycle for as long as you set the timer to run. MIST indicates a shortened
(20 second) ON, 5 minute OFF time in a programmed interval. Mist cycle is 3
hoursdaily.Onceyouhavenishedyourselectionprogrammingfortheleftor
rightsideuse[+]toadvanceoutoftheleftorrightsideintotheotherside.
C. Turn dial to [REVIEW]
This function allows you to view all selected programs. In the PROGRAM
REVIEW mode, you are able to view selections but not make any changes to the
programs.Usethe[+]and[-]buttonstoviewtheprogram#youwishtoreview.
D. Turn dial to [SELECT]
This function allows you to choose which program(s) you wish to run. You may
choose to run some or all of the programs which you have entered by pressing
[ADD]whentheprogram#isilluminatedontheLCD.Whennishedselecting,
turn dial to [PROGRAM RUN]. You MUST enter the program #’s using the
PROGRAM SELECT prior to using PROGRAM RUN. The days you have
selected will remain lit. To deselect a program press [SKIP].
E. Turn dial to [RUN]
Dial must be in this position for programs to run! This function allows you to run
the programs. With the water turned on, programs will run at their programmed
time(s). Programs must be entered using PROGRAM SELECT in order to run.
NOTE: Program will start if selected after the START TIME has been reached.
Forexample,ifyounishmanuallywaterat6:00AMMon.,thenturnyourtimerto
RUN with a program scheduled to start at 6:00AM Mon.,
it will not run because the 6:00AM start time has passed. Program will run at

next selected scheduled time.
NOTE:Ifprogramstarttimesoverlap,timerwillstartatthersttime
selected and shut off at the latest time entered.
F. Turn dial to [ERASE]
This function allows you to erase a program that was previously entered.
a.Scrollthroughtheprogram#’susingthe[+]and[-]buttons.
b. Select the program # you wish to erase when it is lit by pressing [ENTER].
c. Now you are free to return to the PROGRAM SET function to reenter a
selection.
III. Attach Timer to Faucet
1. Byhand,rmlyattachthecouplingnutonyourtimertoyourfaucet.
Do not use tools to attach as overtightening may occur.
IV. Attach Hose to Timer
1. Firmly attach your hose with sprinkler to the timer. Position your sprinkler
where desired in the yard. Damage to the timer or spigot may occur if your pull
on the hose too hard.
V. MANUAL ON / MANUAL OFF – 2 OPTIONS
This time has been designed to allow manual operations with both outlets.
MANUAL USE OF TIMED OUTLETS:
1. To use the outlets for a non-timed application: Turn on the faucet, depress
the [RIGHT ] and / or [LEFT ] on either side of the dial and water will start
running immediately. Water will continue to run until you depress the [RIGHT ]
and / or [LEFT ] again or until a program is scheduled to run. During manual
use, water will shut off after 3 hours.

NOTE: During manual use, the time “counts down” on the LCD panel. To adjust
manualwateringtimetounder3hours,usethe[+]and[-]buttonstocontrol
manual watering in 15 minute increments.
2. After 3 hours have elapsed you may depress the [RIGHT ] and / or
[LEFT ] again for up to 3 hours of additional watering time.
Nelson Warranty
Electronic products are warranted for two (2) years. In the event of such defects,
Nelson will repair or replace, at its option, the product or the defective part. This
warranty does not extend to damage to a Nelson product or part resulting from
accident, misuse, alteration, neglect, abuse, improper installation or normal wear
and tear to the exterior appearance and color. The warranty extends only to
the original use of the Nelson product. This warranty does not extend to cover
losses suffered to plants, animals, landscaping, or increased water usage in the
event of a timer defect or malfunction. If a defect arises in a Nelson product
or part within the warranty period, contact your Nelson Retailer, Distributor, or
RobertBoschToolCorporation.Nelsonmay,atitsoption,requiretheproductor
part to be returned to a Nelson service point or your retailer or distributor. Nelson
will determine whether the claimed defect is covered by warranty. If coverage
is found, the product will be repaired or replaced. Please allow 4 – 6 weeks for
completion of repairs or replacement and return of the product or part. If a
product or part is replaced, the replacement is warranted only for the remainder
oftheoriginalorpartwarrantyperiod.Thiswarrantygivesyouspeciclegal
rights and you may also have other rights from state to state. Robert Bosch Tool
Corporation does not authorize any person to create for it any other obligation or
liability in connection with Nelson products.
