REMOTEENGINESTARTING –UNSUCCESSFULSTART
Inthe eventthatthe engine doesnotstarton the firstattempt, the systemshutsdownfor afewseconds,then
attemptstorestartthe engine a2nd and 3rd time.Forhardstartingengines,theunitwillallowastarter cranktimeof
upto4secondsmaximum.Thisshouldprovideamplecrankingtimefordifficultstarts,butislimitedto4secondsto
helpprevent damage tothe starter fromover cranking.
1) If engine startson 2nd or 3rd attempt, see steps3&4of “SuccessfulStart”on page 4.
2) IfThird attemptfailstostartengine,the systemwill turn off and doorswill remainlocked.NOFURTHER
ATTEMPTSWILL BE MADEAUTOMATICALLY
TURNING OFF AREMOTESTARTEDENGINE:
1) Engine isrunning inRemoteStart (Parking lightsON).
2) Press and releasethe remotestart button or doublepress (If option #6 ison).
3) Engine &parking lightsOFF, Doorsre-lock/re-arm(programmable).
ENTERING YOUR REMOTESTARTEDVEHICLE:
1) Withengine running, unlocksystemwithremote(If equipped) or open door withkey.
2) Enter vehicleand be carefulnot tostep on brakepedal!(RemoteStart Reset)
3) Turn Ignition toON/RUN position, then press brakepedaltoreset the RemoteStarter &Shift out of park.
4) Remotestarter will resetinstantlywhen the brakeispressed.Parking lightswill turn off and the ignition keyis
nowcontrolling your vehicle.
REMOTESTART RUN TIMERESET:
The RemoteStart Run Timeisadjustablefrom5to30 minutes(option #20). Somelocalcities
havearun timelimit for unattended vehicle. You can nowreset the engine-run timer toallowfor more running
timeafter remotestart hasalreadyoccurred using the remotecontrol. After asuccessfulremotestart, press
boththe Lock&Unlockbuttonstogether for at least 2seconds. The parking lightswill flash3timesand
internalengine timer will reset backtozero minutes.
LOCK withREMOTESTARTand AfterREMOTESTARTABORT:
Option#8controlswhetherthesystemwillautomaticallylockduringand after aremoteStartabortortime-out.This
feature can be turned OFF. The default isLockwithRemoteStart.
