3. Opening for D-Piece
1. NEVER use or store the tester around products containing alcohol.
2. The COmpact sensor may become saturated if subjected to high
volume testing. For high volume testing the piCO+™ or Micro+
Smokerlyzer®is recommended. If the sensor does become
saturated, the unit will turn on, count down, but then the top 3 red
LED lights will flash. The tester needs to be removed to fresh air for
several hours to clear out the sensor.
3. To test the battery, press & hold the button for a minimum of 3
seconds while the instrument is off. The status of the battery will be
displayed by the indicators: green-good, orange-low, red-replace.
C. Operating Instructions
1. Insert a D-piece into the COmpact™and fit a new cardboard
mouthpiece over the D-piece.
2. Press & release the button to turn on the device and to begin a breath
test. As you do this, take a deep breath and hold it. The lights on the
COmpact™will count down from 6 to 2 (this takes approximately 15
seconds).
3. When the green indicator flashes, start to blow slowly into the
mouthpiece, aiming to completely empty your lungs.
4. The COmpact™will then display the level of CO by the relevant
indicator light.
