INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Product Overview
Congratulations on the purchase of this excellent product. This useful
appliance can keep you beautifully warm and cosy on even the coldest nights.
Ideal as a TV blanket to snuggle up and watch your favourite programmes!
Using it could not be easier, with a range of heat settings and two operating
times to choose from.
Used and cared for in line with the guidance provided within this Instruction
Manual it should provide you with many years of trouble free service.

Health and Safety
The use of any electrical appliance requires the application of the following
common sense safety rules.
Failure to observe these safety rules exposes the user to the risk of personal
injury or the product itself to the risk of damage. These two categories are
denoted by the following conventions:

IMPORTANT: Damage to the appliance!
Please therefore note the following safety advice.
Location
This appliance is intended for domestic use only. It should NOT be used
for commercial purposes. Such use may damage the product and will
invalidate your warranty.
Do not use the appliance outdoors, or near water.
Mains Cable
The mains cable should reach from the socket to the blanket without
straining the connections.
When routing the cable, take care to not create a trip hazard. Keep it
away from areas where people will be walking.
If the supply cable or controller cable is damaged, DO NOT USE THE
APPLIANCE. The cable must be replaced by a suitably qualified person
with a special cable assembly available from the manufacturer or its
service agent.

Personal Safety
WARNING: To protect against fire, electric shock and personal injury, do
not immerse the cord, plug and / or the controller in water or any other
liquid.
WARNING. This appliance contains no user-serviceable parts. All
repairs must only be carried out by a qualified engineer. Improper
repairs may place the user at risk of harm.
WARNING. Do not use the appliance after a malfunction or if it has
been dropped or damaged in any way.
WARNING. Do not use the appliance for any purpose other than its
intended use.
WARNING. Do not use the product with wet or moist hands.
Only clean your Product after it has been disconnected from the Mains
Supply and allowed to fully cool down.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety.
Children shall not carry out maintenance or cleaning of this appliance.
Children
Never allow a child to operate this appliance.
Children are less able to regulate their body heat than adults. Therefore,
do not allow young children to use this appliance.
Safety Considerations Specifically for this Product
WARNING. DO NOT attempt under any circumstances to remove the
Rating Plate from this product. It contains important information and
additionally, removing it may damage the Heated Throw and expose
the user to a risk of electric shock.

WARNING. DO NOT us this Heated Throw if it is damp or wet.
WARNING. This appliance is not intended for medical use in hospitals.
WARNING. This Product is intended to be used ONLY as an over
blanket. Do not attempt to lie on it or use it as an under blanket in a bed.
WARNING. DO NOT tightly fold the Heated Throw or place heavy
items on it which may cause the heating wire to become sharply bent.
This can result in permanent damage to your appliance.
WARNING. DO NOT use in conjunction with any other personal heating
device.
To disconnect, turn off at the wall socket before removing the plug from
the mains outlet.
Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Always
hold and pull the plug, never pull the cord.
WARNING. DO NOT attempt to disconnect the Cord from the Heated
Throw when it is operating.
Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning.
WARNING. DO NOT Dry Clean this appliance.
Never leave the appliance unattended when operating.
WARNING. Do not use this appliance in conjunction with an external
timer or remote control.
IMPORTANT. Examine the Heated Throw regularly to check for any
signs of wear or damage. Should anything be found, DO NOT use the
appliance, contact your Service Centre for advice.
WARNING. This appliance must not be used by persons insensitive to
heat or other vulnerable persons who cannot react appropriately to
overheating.
WARNING: DO NOT insert sharp objects such as pins into the blanket.
Risk of electrocution.
WARNING. DO NOT allow the Controller to come close to any hot
objects such as Electric Fires, Gas Heaters, Radiators etc. There is a
risk of damage to the product.
WARNING. DO NOT wrap the controller in the Heated Throw when
operating. This may cause overheating and malfunction.

WARNING. DO NOT operate the Heated Throw when it is folded up as
this will cause overheating and a malfunction to occur.
IMPORTANT. This is a CLASS II Product and as such does not need
to be EARTHED.

HEALTH ADVISORY
Temperature Sensitivity – Persons with poor awareness of
temperature should avoid using an Electric Blanket or a Heated
Throw for extended periods. This includes but is not limited to
persons suffering from Diabetes where some sufferers can develop
Diabetic Neuropathy leading to numbness and an inability to sense
when something is hot.
Pregnancy – Pregnant women should also exercise caution as there
is some evidence that higher body temperatures associated with the
use of Heated Blankets or Throws for extended periods or at high
temperature levels can be harmful to the foetus.

Electrical Requirements
When using electrical appliances basic safety precautions should always
be followed.
Check that the voltage indicated on the rating plate corresponds with that of
your local network before connecting the appliance to the mains power
supply.
If your appliance is supplied with a non-rewirable plug fitted to the mains
lead and should the fuse need replacing, you must use an ASTA or BS
approved type conforming to BS1362 and of the same rating. If in doubt
consult a qualified electrician for advice or assistance. If you need to
remove the plug - DISCONNECT IT FROM THE MAINS and cut it off the
mains lead. You must then dispose of it IMMEDIATELY and SAFELY.
Never attempt to re-use the plug or insert it into a socket outlet as
there is a serious danger of an electric shock

How to use your Heated Throw
To begin using your Heated Throw, first, carefully unpack it and check that it
has not sustained any damage during transportation. Also, check that all the
items shown in the PRODUCT OVERVIEW are present. We recommend that
you retain your packaging so that, in the unlikely event of a fault developing,
you are able to return the product in the correct packaging to ensure best
protection.
Before first use
1. Remove all packaging material.
2. Remove any stickers or labels from the appliance. DO NOT remove the
Product Rating Plate.
Preparing for use
1. This appliance is intended to be used a THROW or OVER BLANKET
and therefore should always be placed on top of an individual, NOT
under them or on the top of a bed sheet. It is NOT to be used as an
UNDER BLANKET.
2. Connect the Controller Socket Connector (5) on the end on the
Controller Cord (2) to the Heated Throw (1), Blanket Plug
Connector (4), see the diagram below:
3. When connecting the Controller Cable to the Heated Throw the
locking tab on the Connectors will engage automatically. When you
wish to disconnect the Controller Cord from the blanket the locking tab
on the Blanket Plug Connector must be lifted so that they can be
separated.
IMPORTANT. DO NOT attempt to disconnect the cord without lifting the
locking tab.

User Controls and Indicators Description
1. 7 Segment Display: This indicates your Heat Setting and can be
adjusted from 1 – 8 plus H (HIGH).
NOTE: The H (HIGH) setting only operates for 60 minutes. After this
time the setting goes to the lowest level 1. User adjustment is then
required if you wish to change the heat level.
2. 12h Timer Indicator: This shows the 12 Hour setting has been
selected.
3. 90min Indicator: This shows the 90min setting has been selected.
4. ON/OFF Temp Switch: Press and hold for approximately two seconds
to turn ON or turn OFF the Heated Throw. Press sequentially to adjust
the Heat Setting between 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & H.
5. Timer Switch: Press sequentially to select between the 90 min and 12
hrs. settings.

Using the Appliance
1. Connect the mains plug of the Mains Supply Cord (3) to a convenient
wall socket.
WARNING. Take care to avoid any trip hazards when routing the cable.
2. Press and hold the ON/OFF, Temp. Switch (4) on the Controller (6)
until the Display comes on (about 2-3 seconds).
3. The Heated Throw will turn on to the default settings as shown in Fig 1.
4. If you wish you can warm up the blanket rapidly by pressing the
ON/OFF, Temp Switch once to change the Heat Setting to H (HIGH).
This will provide 1 hour at the highest heat level before automatically
reducing down to level 1.
5. Alternatively, you can select any of the intermediate Heat Settings by
sequentially pressing the ON/OFF, Temp Switch until you reach your
desired Heat Setting.
6. The Timer Switch can be pressed at any point to adjust between 90 min
and 12 hours depending on your preference.
WARNING: DO NOT fall asleep with the Heated Throw on a High
Setting as you may become too warm.
7. When you have finished using the Heated Throw press and hold the
ON/OFF, Temp Switch for around 2 seconds to turn off the blanket.
Then switch off at the wall socket and unplug the Heated Throw by
grasping and pulling the plug. Do not pull on the cord.
8. Loosely fold your Heated throw and store in a dry location out of the
reach of children.

Cleaning and Storage
Cleaning & Washing
We recommend that the Heated Throw is cleaned as necessary by following
the instructions below:
1. Disconnect the appliance from the Mains Supply and allow to cool down
completely.
2. Disconnect the Controller from the blanket
WARNING: DO NOT immerse the Controller, Cord, Mains Lead or
Plug in water or any other liquid.
3. Wipe the surface of the Controller and Cord with a slightly moistened
cloth. Rub dry with a soft dry cloth.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT use industrial solvents such as benzene,
iso-propanol, similar solvents or abrasive chemicals as these may
irreparably damage your appliance.
4. Machine washing of the Heated Throw is possible. To machine wash,
unplug the Controller, place the blanket in a net bag and seal it. Use a
small amount of detergent and set the washing machine to a “Delicate
Wash” with a maximum temperature of 40°C. When washed, remove
the blanket from the net bag and drape it over a clothes line to dry.
WARNING: DO NOT use clothes pegs to secure it.
WARNING: DO NOT wring out the blanket or dry using a tumble
dryer.
WARNING: DO NOT iron the blanket
WARNING: DO NOT dry the blanket in the sun.
WARNING: DO NOT connect it to the mains supply to dry it
WARNING: DO NOT use an appliance such as a hair dryer to dry it.
Allow the blanket to dry naturally.
WARNING: DO NOT use the blanket if it is damp or wet.

Storage
Once the appliance has been thoroughly cleaned and dried it can be stored in
a cool, dry location out of the reach of children.
1. Make sure the blanket is dry before folding and packing it away.
2. DO NOT use mothproofing agents on the blanket.
3. DO NOT crease the blanket by placing heavy items on top of it during
storage.
To ensure it is dust free and ready for use the next time you need it we
recommend you keep it in its original packaging.
Troubleshooting
In the unlikely event that you experience a problem with your Heated Throw
please take a couple of minutes to check these possible causes before you
contact the Help Line.
