PROCESS TO SET OR RESET PUMP PRESSURE
NOTE: The hydraulic / electric pumps supplied with the HY-Series Pinch-Off tools are capable of
producing 10,000 psi hydraulic pressure. These tools operate at much lower pressure settings to prevent
damage to the handset or jaw breakage. Prior to shipping a complete tool and pump assembly, we will
always request the customer to send CPS samples of their tubing to test with the tool. This allows us to
confirm the tool performance and calibrate the pump to the safe operating pressure that matches the
tubing being processed. DISCLAIMER: If a customer waives the tube sample request, we cannot
guarantee tool performance or potential damage to the tool itself. All warranties will be void if tubing is
not tested prior to shipping.
Should it ever be necessary to change or alter the pump pressure, please contact CPS to get pump setting
recommendations.
Loosen set screw on cap Remove cap Loosen large knurled lock nut
Increase pump pressure:
Turn clockwise when pump is activated and
carefully watch pressure gauge. Do not exceed
4000 psi without contacting CPS for
recommendations.
Reduce pump pressure:
Turn counter-clockwise when pump is NOT
activated. Make small adjustments and then
check pressure by activating pump and reading
the gauge.
When pressure setting has been
reached, tighten the knurled lock
nut and replace the protective cap
