Mixgasolineandoilat a ratioof40:1
(A40:1 ratioisobtainedbymixing3;2
ouncesofoilwithI gallonofunleaded
gasoline),DONOTUSEautomotiveoil
orboat oil.These oilswillcause engine
damage.Whenmixingfuel,follow
instructionsprintedon container.
Once oilisaddedtogasoline,shake
containermomentarily toassurethat
the fuelisthoroughlymixed.Always

ningitdryoffuel, then removefuel cap/
retainerassemblyfromtank. Pullfilter
from tankandremoveitfrom the fuel
line. Installnewfuel filteronfuelline;
reinstallpads.

CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENT
Carburetoradjustmentiscriticaland if
doneimproperlycan permanentlydam-
agetheengineas well as thecarbure-
tor.tfyou requirefurther assistanceor
are unsureaboutperformingthispro-
cedure,call ourcustomerassistance
helplineat 1-800-235-5878.
Oldfuel, a dirtyair filter,a dirtyfuel fil-
ter, orflooding may givetheimpression
ofan improperlyadjustedcarburetor.
Checktheseconditionsbeforeadjust-
ingthecarburetor.
The carburetorhas beencarefullyset
atthefactory. Adjustmentsmay be
necessaryifyounoticeanyofthefol-
lowingconditions:
• Enginewiltnotidle.See =IdleSpeed"
and=Mixture"underadjusting
procedure.
•Enginediesorhesitatesinstead of
accelerating.See =Acceleration
Check"underadjustingprocedure.

CARBURETOR PRESETS
Whenmakingcarburetorpresetadjust-
ments,do notforce plasticlimitercape
beyondthe stopsordamage willoccur.
Ifcarburetorpresetsarenot needed,
