EZ-30DPModelisan add-on/expansion unit, withoutremotesor an antenna thatmustbe controlled byan existing
alarmor keyless entrysystem.The “InfinityRun” feature isnotavailableon an EZ-30DPsystem.Mostofthe
remotestartfeaturescan be controlled through an existing factoryor aftermarketremotekeyless entryor alarm
system.Pressing an auxiliarybutton on an Aftermarketsystemor pressing abutton 3timeson aFactorykeyless
remotecan activatearemotestartusing the EZ-30DP.Thisisreferred tointhismanualasactivating the “Green
Start input wire”.

1) Press the remotestart button for at least 1/2second (*default). (For EZ-30DPmodels,consultyour installer).
2) Parking lightsflashonce, return solid, and the Ignition/Acc circuitsturn on.
3) After afewsecondsthe Starter Motor engages.The parking lightsand Acc circuitswill turn off whilecranking.
4) Engine Startsand Runs. Parking Lightsand Acc turnsbackon, and the doorslock.
5) Engine will remainrunning for programmed run timeuntil resetwithBrakepedal.Ifneeded,the engine can be
turned off withremotetransmitter bypressing and releasing the Startbutton.(For EZ-30DPmodel,activatethe
Green Start input wire)

Inthe eventthatthe engine doesnotstarton the firstattempt, the systemshutsdownfor afewseconds,then
attemptstorestartthe engine a2nd and 3rd time.For hard starting engines,the unitwill allowastarter cranktimeof
up to13 secondsmaximum.Thisshouldprovide amplecranking timefor difficultstarts,butislimited to13 seconds
tohelpprevent damage tothe starter fromover cranking.
1) If engine startson 2nd or 3rd attempt, see steps4&5aboveof "SuccessfulStart".
2) IfThird attemptfailstostartengine,the systemwill turn off and doorswill remainlocked.NOFURTHER
ATTEMPTSWILL BE MADEAUTOMATICALLY

TURNING OFF AREMOTESTARTEDENGINE:
1) Engine isrunning inRemoteStart (Parking lightsON).
2) Press and releasethe remotestart button or doublepress (If option #6 ison). (For EZ-30DPmodel, activate
Green Start input wire.)
3) Engine &parking lightsOFF, Doorsre-lock/re-arm.
ENTERING YOUR REMOTESTARTEDVEHICLE:
1) Withengine running, Unlocksystemwithremote(If equipped) or open door withkey.
2) Enter vehicleand be carefulnot tostep on brakepedal!(RemoteStart Reset)
3) Turn Ignition toON/RUN position, then press brakepedaltoreset the RemoteStarter &Shift out of park.
4) Remotestarter will resetinstantlywhen the brakeispressed.Parking lightswill turn off and the ignition keyis
nowcontrolling your vehicle.
REMOTESTART RUN TIMERESET:DOES NOTS APPLYTO EZ-30DP/31DP
You can nowreset the engine-run timer toallowfor more running timeafter remotestart hasalreadyoccurred
using the remotecontrol. After asuccessfulremotestart, press boththe Lock&Unlockbuttonstogether for at
least 2seconds. The parking lightswill flash3timesand internalengine timer will reset backtozero minutes.
IDLEDOWNMODE:
Thismode allowsthe unittotakeover operation ofthe parked vehiclewhilethe ignition keyisremoved and you exit
the vehicle.The vehicleisputintoaremoterunning condition before you exitand itwill remainrunning for the
programmed run timeor until you comeback.
Examples:
·You pull up toaconveniencestore for aquick stop,"IdleDown"mode keepsengine running when you exitthe
vehicle,(withkeys inhand) remotelock doorsor armalarm.When you return,unlock,turn ignition ONand drive
away.

IDLEDOWNMODE-EXITING THEVEHICLE:
1) Withvehicleengine running withkey, press the RemoteStart button for at least one second or twiceif set for
Doublepress (For EZ-30DPmodelactivateGreen remotestart input wire.)
2) Parking Lightswill turn ON.
3) Doorswill unlock, or if brakepedalisbeing depressed, doorswill unlockwhen it isreleased.
4) Turn OFF Ignition and removekey. Engine shouldremainrunning.
5) Exit vehiclethen remotelockdoorsif desired.
6) Engine will remainrunning for programmed run timeor until you return (whichever comesfirst).

REMOTEENGINECONTROL
INFINITYRUN MODE(NOTAVAILABLEONEZ-30DPMODEL)
Thismode can onlybe activated when "IdleDown"procedure.The InfinityRun mode allowsthe vehicleengine to
remainrunning INDEFINITELYafter the programmed run timeelapses.Thismode will allowthe vehicletobe left
running and unattended without the ignition keyinthe switchpreventing the vehiclefrombeing stolen.Thismode
can be beneficialtolawenforcementor commercialtrucksthatneed toremainrunning unattended for long periods
of time. See next page for Infinitymode steps.
INFINITYRUN MODE–EXITING THEVEHICLE:
1) Withvehicleengine running withthe key,press the RemoteStartbutton for atleast1second,pauseafew
seconds, then press and releasethe remotestart button asecond time.
2) Parking Lightswill start flashing, and doorswill unlock.
3) Turn Ignition switchOFF, removekeyand exit the vehicle. Engine shouldremainrunning.
4) The vehicle’sparking lightswill flashfor the programmed run timeof12,24,or 36,or 48 minutesand then switch
tosolidwhilemotor runsindefinitelyor until fuelsupplyrunsout.
SELECTABLEHOURLYCOLD-STARTMODE(1-4 HOURS)
Thismode allowsthe vehicletobe programmed toself-startevery1,2,3or 4hoursand run for the programmed
run time.Thiscan be helpfulduring extremelycoldconditionswhere engine fluidfreeze-up isaconcern.THE
VEHICLEMUSTBEOUTDOORSORINAWELL VENTILATEDAREA! Oncethismode isset, the unitwill start
atthe programmed hourlyintervaland run for the programmed run time.Toresetthismode,either startthe vehicle
withthe keyor the remotecontrol.

SELECTABLEHOURLYCOLD-STARTMODE–EXITING THEVEHICLE:
1) Engine shouldbe running withthe Key.Press the RemoteStartbutton for atleast1second.(For EZ-30DP
model,activateGreen startinputwire.)Lightswill turn on signaling the remotestarthasturned on and doorswill
unlock.
2) Within10 secondspress and releasethe valet/programbutton oncefor eachhourlyincrement(1 time=1hour,
2X=2hours, 3X=every3hours, 4X=every4hours).
3) Parking Lightswill turn when the button ispressed and flashfor eachconsecutivebutton press.
4) Turn Ignition switchOFF, removekeyand exit the vehicle. Engine shouldremainrunning.
5) Onceoutside the vehicle,press and releasethe remotestartbutton toturn off engine.(For EZ-30DPmodel,
activateGreen Startinputwire.)The parking lightswill flashthe number oftimesindicating the hourlyincrement
for confirmation.
6) The vehiclewill startbyitselfatthe selected hourlyincrementuntil driven withkeyor started viathe remote
control.

TURBOTIMERMODE(OPTIONAL)
The optionalTurbo Timer mode allowsthe CoolStartsystemtokeep aTurbo or Turbo Dieselvehiclerunning for 1
to5minutes[selectively]after you removethe key,exitthe vehicle,and lockthe doorsremotely.Thisishandyfor
turbo cool-downwithoutthe need for expensiveturbo timers.Thismode requiresthe useofan extra partcalled a
momentaryswitch/button that isnot included withthe kit. Checkwithyour installer about adding thisfeature.
NOTE: The turbo timer button will alsotrigger aremotestart if it isinadvertentlypressed when the vehicleisnot
running. Pleasenotethiswhen installing the button and choosealocation out of harm’sway.
1) Engine shouldbe running withthe key.
2) Press and holddownthe brakepedal.
3) Press your “Turbo Timer” button 1to5timesfor eachminuteof run timeyou desire. (1 press =1min.)
4) Asyou releasethe brakepedaland your systemwill confirmbyflashing the lightsthe samenumber oftimesthe
button waspressed.
5) Turn Ignition switchOFF,removekeyand exitthe vehicle.Remotelockyour doorsfor safety.The engine
shouldremainrunning for the selected number of minutes.

CONVENIENCEAND SAFETYFEATURES
KEYLESS ENTRY(POWERDOORLOCK CONTROL, Optional)
Thissystem enables youto remotelylock andunlock thevehicle’s doors (ifequipped withpower locks) viaremote control
for safety andconvenience. Note: This feature may require extra labor and/or parts to install. Press the Lock or Unlock
transmitter buttonas youleave or come near thevehicle. Parkinglights will flashonce for lock andtwice for unlock. If
vehicle is running by the remote start system, the lights will flash, but returnback to solid.
AUTO LOCK/UNLOCK (Improved)
TheAuto Lock feature controlswhether thedoors will automaticallylock/unlock onyourvehiclewhendrivingor withturning
theIgnitionON/OFF. If theAuto Lock feature isturned on,andyoursystem isin“Tach”mode, thenthedoors should
automaticallylock as theengineRPM’s increase (driving). If theAuto Lock feature isturned on,andyoursystem isin
“Smart Tachless” mode, thenthedoors will lock afew seconds after theIgnitionisturned on.WhentheAuto Lock feature is
turned on,thesystem will always unlock thedoors whentheIgnitionisturned off. Withthisfeature turned OFF, thesystem
will not automatically lock or unlock the vehicle. See your installer for programming informationonthis feature.
DOOR LOCK NOTE: If your systemhas been setup with an optional starter kill relay, but you do not have power door
locks, note the following: The lock and unlock buttons on the remote control must still be utilized to operate the Starter
disable.
REMOTEPANIC(Optional) DOES NOTS APPLYTO EZ-30DP/31DP
For personalsafety thisunitnow includes apanicfeature. To soundthevehiclecar horn,press theLock Buttononthe
remote for more than2seconds. Thevehiclehornwill honkalongwithflashingparkinglamps for 1minute. Reset Remote
Panic by pressing either the lock or unlock button. See next sectionfor HornHonk information.
HORN CHIRP/HONK OUTPUT(Optional) DOES NOTS APPLYTO RS-1300DP/1301DP
This feature, if installed, will provide audible confirmationchirps from the factory hornfor lock and unlock. Whenusing
this feature, pressing the Lock or Unlock buttona 2nd time within3 seconds or once (programmable option) will provide
a hornchirp for audible confirmation. The system canalso be programmed to provide 3 chirps whena remote start is
requested using the remote. Note: Hornhonk/chirp feature may require extra labor and/or parts to install.
REMOTETRUNK RELEASE ORDOMELIGHTILLUMINATION(Optional) DOES NOTS APPLYTO EZ-
30DP/31DP/33DP
ThisCoolStart system includes anoutputthat canbe programmed to remotelyrelease afactory electronictrunkor
illuminate theinterior lightwhenyouunlock yourvehiclefor lighted entry at night. If youhave theoptionaltrunkpop
installed, simplypress andrelease theTrunkButton#3 onthetransmitter or ifoption#6isturned onyoumust press Button
# 3 twice within3 seconds, to remotely opentrunk. If your system isprogrammed for Dome Lightillumination,then itwill
work automaticallylightingthedome lightfor 30 seconds whenyouunlock yourvehicleviatheremote. Thedome lightwill
turnoff after 30 seconds, or turningthekey on(whichever comes first). ThetrunkPop or Dome LightIlluminationmay

require extra labor and/or parts to install.
CONVENIENCEAND SAFETYFEATURES
VALETMODE/ STARTERDISABLEOVERRIDE
Before servicing your vehicleor handing the keysover toaValetwerecommend putting the unitintovaletmode.
The remotestartfunction WILL NOToperatewhen inValetmode.Toenter Valetmode, turn the keytothe ON
position,press and holdProgram/Valetswitchfor 5-6 seconds.The LEDwill turn on solidand the systemisnowin
valet. Performthisprocedure againtoexitofValetmode.The keyless entrywill still function normallywhileinvalet
mode. Inthe event of alost or broken transmitter, performthisstep tooverride the Starter Disable(if installed).
ANTI-GRIND / STARTERDISABLE(Optional, relaynotincluded)
ThisOptionalfeature preventsthe user fromaccidentallygrinding the starter ifthe Ignition keyisturned too far to
the startposition whileengine isalreadyrunning fromthe remotestarter.The Anti-Grind/Starter Disablerequires
the useof an externalrelay. Thissystemmust be programmed toallowthe relaytoworkasastarter disable.
HOODOPENSAFETY(Requires grounding hood pininstallation)
Preventsthe engine being RemoteStarted when hood isopen and will shutOFF the engine ifopened during a
remotestart. Eliminatesriskofinjurytosomeone working under the hood of the vehiclewithaproperlyworking
hood pininstalled.IfRemoteStartbutton ispressed withthe hood open,the lightswill flashonceand the unitwill
not attempt astart.
BRAKEPEDALRESET
Preventsstarting or shutsoff aremotestarted vehiclewhen thiscircuitisactiveor activated.Preventsunauthorized
tampering.Thiscircuitshutsthe systemdownimmediatelywhen brakepedalispressed ifthe keyisnotinignition
and turned tothe ONposition.
OEMALARMINTERFACE
Thisfeatureisdesigned toDisarmand Re-armFactoryequipped securitysystemsinconjunction withremotestartand keyless entry
(ifneeded foryourvehicle).Thisfeaturewill maintainthe originalintegrityand securityofyourvehicle’sfactoryequipped systems
before, during, orafterremotestart.
NOTE: When changing, charging, or jumpstarting the vehicle’sbatterywerecommend removing the mainpower
fuseslocated on the heavy gauge REDwiresnear the remotestart module.

Note: All transmittercodes must belearnedat timeofprogramming!! TheEZEE STARTSYSTEMSlearns
up to4differenttransmittercodes.
1.Open Hood (If no hood pininstalled withyour system, then you must ground the GrayHood pinwire).
2.Turn keytothe ONposition. (Pinkwire must be connected.)
3.Press Programming button 4times, then after afewsecondsthe unit flashesthe parking lights4times.
4.Press button #1 ofthe transmitter tobe coded.You shouldget2lightflashesindicating the unitiswaiting for a
2nd code,then press button #1 ofasecond transmitter,the unitwill flash3timesindicating itswaiting for the 3rd
code and soon.Ifall 4codesare learned,the unitwill automaticallyexitcode learning mode,otherwiseturn key
off and closehood. See diagrambelow.

TROUBLESHOOTING:“BEFOREYOUCALL”SECTION
UNITWILL NOTATTEMPTASTART(KEYLESS ENTRYSTILL FUNCTIONSNORMALLY):
The unitisinValetmode.Turn Ignition ON,press and holdvalet/programming button for 6secondsthen turn key
off. Unitisnowoutofvaletmode and shouldperformaremotestart. IfoptionalLEDindicator isinstalled,then it
will be on solidwhen inValet and OFF when out of Valet.
UNITFLASHES LIGHTSONCEAND WILL NOTATTEMPTASTART:
The unit sensesafault at the Brake(Purplewire isactive) or the Hood isOPEN(Graywire grounded). Thisisa
safetyfeature ofthe unit. Checkinstallation for faultsand makesure hood isclosed and latched and brakewire is
not active. Makesure hood isingood condition and isdepressed when hood isclosed.
NO RESPONSE FROMREMOTETRANSMITTERS:(4 Parts)
1.Checkfor proper power/ground wiring connectionsat module.
2.CheckAntenna Moduleconnection. The antenna moduleincluded withthissystemmust be plugged in.
3.Transmittersmayneed tobe programmed tothe unit. See transmitter programming stepson Page 10.
4.Checktransmitter Batteriesand replaceif necessary.
UNITCRANKSVEHICLEBUTENGINENEVERSTARTS:(2 parts)
1.Inextremecoldor severe weather conditions,the unitmaytakemore than the firstattempttostartthe vehicle.
The remotestart unit will makeup to3attemptstostart the engine.
2.Insomevehicles,there maybe aFactoryanti-theft systemthatwill notallowthe engine torun withoutthe keyin
the ignition.Thesesystemsmayinclude FactorySecurityModules,GMPasskey®/Passlock®,and RF
Transponder systems(Ford P.A.T.S.®).Manylate1990’sthrough 2005 vehiclesinclude sometype ofAnti-Theft
systemwhichmayrequire abypass module.Checkwithyour installer tomakesure thatthe bypass device(if
equipped) isfunctioning properly.
SYSTEMISUNSUCCESSFULATREMOTESTARTDURING EXTREMECOLDCONDITIONS:
Pleasebe aware thatduring sub-freezing conditionsyour remotestarter maytakemore thatone attempttostart, or
itmaynotsuccessfullystartthe vehicleafter 3attempts.During theseconditionsthe vehiclemaynotproperlystart
even using the key, therefore trying tostart bythe remotewouldalsobe unsuccessful.

and other on board systems.Ifthe vehicleisstarted withoutthiswire energized,there maybe a“CheckEngine”
or “ServiceEngine Soon” lighton the dash.Thismaycausedamage ifthe vehicleisdriven inthiscondition.
Checkwithinstaller tosee if thiscircuit ispresent and hasbeen properlyconnected tothe system.
2.Insomecases[commonlyNissan vehicles], an additional“Start”(Cranking) circuitisrequired for the vehicleto
run properly.The EZEE STARTSERIES systemincludesawire thatcan be used for thisStarter #2 circuit.

BATTERYREPLACEMENT
To replace thebattery: Simplyremovethe screwson backofthe transmitter and open the case.Removethe
batteryand replace. The replacement batteryfor all transmittersisGP23A.
