SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1. Please read through the entire instruction manual before starting any of the installation procedures.
2. We recommend disconnecting the negative side of the battery until ready to code the vehicle.
3. Do not install any of the main modules near any major components or near the HVAC system,
as placing items near the HVAC may cause damage or overheating to the vehicle or interface.
4. We recommend not disconnecting any of the air bag connections behind the dash panels.
5. This product is under Crux’s 1 year manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty may be voided in the case where
the device shows proof of being opened or improper extreme force.

CONNECTING THE INTERFACE
Follow these steps to properly install the interface module.
Step 1 - Remove the RADIO panel to gain access to the factory 20-PIN Harnesses. You will need to locate the CAN wire on the
vehicle. Page 2 will give you the full details on how to connect.
Step 2 - Using the provided 8-PIN Harness, you will need to connect the DATA Wire from the vehicle harness to the module, connect
the two YELLOW wires on the 8-PIN harness. See chart below for wire descriptions.
8-PIN LOOSE WIRES
RED = 12V Constant
BLACK = Ground
YELLOW = Data Output (To Radio)
YELLOW/BLACK = Data Input (From Car)

MAKE SURE THE DATA WIRE

CONNECTING THE INTERFACE
Follow these steps to properly install the interface module.
Step 3 - Use the facotry 20-PIN connector to tap for DATA. Normally the 20-Pin connector will be GRAY and the CAN wire is located
on PIN 4 of the factory connector. Shown below is the WIRE VIEW (Solid Light Green)
Step 4 - You will need to cut the DATA wire in order to properly connect the module. With the wire cut, use the side coming from the car
to go to the INPUT (Yellow/Black) wire on the 8-PIN Harness. Connect the solid YELLOW back to the portion on the factory
connector. See diagram below.

CONNECTING YOUR DEVICES TO THE INTERFACE
Follow these steps to properly install the interface module.
Step 5 -The power for the module can be found on the GREEN 16-PIN connector. Located next to the GRAY connector.
RED = 12V CONSTANT / BLACK = GROUND (Make sure to measure the wires with a volt meter to confirm)
This same connection can be used to power the Wi-FI module, but you may want to take the location of your
factory AV Input location. Make sure your connections are long enough to reach all input connections.
Step 6 - Connect the 24-Pin AV Input/Output Cable to the Main Interface module. Connect the Camera and other Devices to the inputs
on this cable. See labels on the cables for descriptions. The AV outputs can be used to go to an external monitor.

CONNECTING THE INTERFACE
Follow these steps to properly install the interface module.
Step 5 - After connecting the module, set the proper dip switches to the “ON” position.
The interface requires DIP Switch 1 to be “ON”. Unless you are using the toggle switch option.
DIP SWITCH DESCRIPTION
Up = ON, Down = OFF
DIP 1 = Video In-Motion (Always On)
DIP 2 = Factory Rear-View Camera
DIP 3 = Not Used
DIP 4 = Not Used
DIP 5 = May Vary
DIP 6 = May Vary
After each change of the DIP switch settings,
we recommend powering down the module,
then restarting the module.
LED INDICATORS
BLUE LED:
Blinking = No BUS Detected.
Solid = BUS Recognized.
OFF = Power Down/ Sleep mode.
RED LED:
ON = Power On
OFF = Power OFF

DIP 2: If the vehicle is equipped with
factory rear-view camera, place to ON.
DIPS 5 & 6:
These two dip switches control the
CAN-Bus configuration.
Switches “5” and “6” are defaulted to
“OFF”, test the video in-motion, If there is
no display on the screen while the vehicle
is in motion, please place switches “5” and
“6” to “ON”.

CONNECTING THE Wi-Fi MODULE
Using the included Wi-Fi interface module make the following connections as recommended.
Step 1 - Connect the 10-Pin Harness to the Wi-Fi module. This cable will allow you the Audio/Video output for the vehicle.
Use the AV inputs on the WHITE 22-Pin T-Harness to connect the Wi-Fi AV outputs.
(See page 4 for details)
Step 2 - The interface does not provide you with a Power wire for the Wi-Fi module. Connect the RED wire from the 10-Pin Wi-Fi
harness to the connections used to power the main module. wire. For the best signal we recommend GROUNDING the Wi-Fi
module near the 12V Source. See Page 5 for more information.

CONNECTING YOUR DEVICE TO THE Wi-Fi MODULE
Preliminary: Connect the Wi-Fi Antenna to the Wi-Fi module to power the signal.
Step 3 - With the Wi-Fi module powered on, use the MODE button to toggle/select between the iOS system setup
and the Android system setup. Make sure the radio is on the AUX Source to view the factory AV input. (See below)
Note: The USB port can be used as a 5V output/ charger for most devices.
To select the A/V Input source: Press the VIDEO button to see new menu, then select REAR MEDIA.
Make note that the interface is Defaulted to Miracast (Android), make sure the system you have is highlighted.

CONNECTING YOUR DEVICE TO THE Wi-Fi MODULE
On the new iOS 7 you can easily do the following:
Swipe your nger from the bottom up on the iPhone or iPad.
From the Quick Menu turn ON the Wi-Fi and connect to “Hot Spot”.
After connecting the Wi-Fi, from that same screen select the
Air-Play item to connect to the interface.
To turn on Mirroring, you will need to be connected to the
interface and select the Air-Play item again,
and turn on Mirroring option.
If your device doesn’t support the iOS 7:
1. Settings > Wi-Fi > On
2. Choose Network > “Hot Spot”
3. After connected, double click the Home button to
display your recently used apps.
4. Select the Air-Play icon to begin to mirror.
(Wi-Fi must be connected).
If no Air-Play icon is present, make sure your connected to “Hot Spot”.
When casting MUSIC to the Wi-Fi interface, the Album art will be shown along with song information as:
Time - Artist - Album - Track.
If there is no album art present the image below is what you will see, along with the song information.

From your the Home screen:
Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the Screen
Mirroring
Scan for the “Hot Spot” device.
This can take up to 20 seconds.
Connect and begin streaming.
MIRRORING YOUR DEVICE
The Mirroring connection uses a direct Wi-Fi connection to transfer
the Audio and Video from your device. This does not require a
active network.
If your Smartphone has the Screen Time Out active on your phone,
and your phone display goes to sleep, you will no longer see the
image on the screen. Deactivate to avoid.
