CHARGING
1. Connect the charger to the battery.
2. Connect the charger lo the woll socket. The power lamp wi ll indicate thatthe mains
cable is connected to the wa ll socket. The error lomp will indicate if the battery clomps
ore incorrectly connected. The reverse polarity protection will ensure that the battery flll
or charger will not be damaged. ~
3,Press the MODE-button to selectcharging program.
4. Fallow lhe 8-step display through the charging process.
The
battery is ready to startthe enginewhen STEP 4 is lit.
The battery is fully charged when STEP 7 is lit.
5. Stopcharging at any time by disconnecting the mains coble from the wall socket.

CHARGING PROGRAMS
Sellings are made by pressing the MODE-bullan. After about t wo seconds the charger
activates the selected program. The select ed program will be restarted next time the
charger is connected.

If the error lamp is lit, check the following:

Restart the charger by pressing the MODE-bullon. If charging is still
being in terrupted, the battery...

POWER LAMP
Ifthe power lamp is li t with a:
- 1. STEADY LIGHT
The mains cable is connected lo the wall sodcet.
2. FLASHING LIGHT 1

TEMPERATURE SENSOR
The MXS 10 is equipped with on external temperature sensor. The tempera-
ture sensor
is attachable. If so, the char ger will compensatevoltage accor·
ding to
am bient temperature. Activoted temperature sensor will be indicated
by a lit temperature sensorindicator lamp.

STEP 1 DESULPHATION
Detects su lphoted botteries. Pulsing current ond voltoge, removes sulphote from the leod
plotes of the bottery restoring the bottery copocity.
STEP 2 SOFT START
Tests if the bottery con occept chorge. This step prevents thot chorging proceeds with o
defecl bollery.
STEP3 BULK
Chorgingwith moximum current un t il opproximotely 80% battery capacity.
STEP 4 ABSORPTION
Chargingwith declining current to maximize up to 100% bottery capacity .

SAFETY
• The charger is designed lor charging 12V lead-acid batteries. Do not use the charger
lor onyot her purpose.
C heck the charger cobl es prior to use. Ensure that no crocks have occurred in the
cables or in the bend protection. A chorger with domoged cables must not be used.

• Never charge a damag ed battery.
• Never charge a frozen battery.
Never place the charger on t op of the battery when charging.
Always provide lor proper ventilation during charging.
Avoid covering the chorger .
A battery being charged could emit explosive gasses. Prevent sporks close to the
bollery.
When botteries are reaching the end ol their li fecycle in ternol spo r ks may occur.
All batteries fail sooner or later. A battery that fails during charging is normally
taken care of by the chargers odvonced control, but some rare errors in the batte ry
could s till exist. Don't leove ony bottery during charging unattend ed lora lang er pe ri od
oflime.
• Ensure that the cabling doe s not jam or comes into contoctwith hot surfaces or sharp
edges .
• Battery acid is corrosive. Rinse immediotely wi th wa ter if ocid comes into contact
with skin or eyes, seek immediate medicol odvice.
• Always check that the charger has swit ched to STEP 7 before leaving the charger
unattended and connected for long periods. lf the charger has notswitched to STEP 7
wit
hin 55 hours, this is an indication af an error. Ma nually disconnect the chorger.
Batteries consume wo t er during use and charging. F or bolleries where woter con
be odded, the wa ter level should be checked regularly. lf the water level is low a dd
distilled water.
This appliance is not designed lor use by young children or people who connot reod
or understond the monual unless they are under the supervision ol o responsible person
ta ensurethot they con use the ba tt ery chorger sofely. Store ond use the bottery chorger
ou t of the reoch of children, ond ensure thot children connot ploy with the chorger.
