1 Product purpose
The present passport, technical description and instruction manual cover
Guarant-7 impulse firefighting unit designed to localize and extinguish class
A, B, C fires, as well as fires of live electrical equipment* in production,
storage and welfare facilities, with ram airflow velocity up to 5 m/s.
Guarant-7 powder firefighting unit is not intended for extinguishing of
anaerobic combustion substances, alkaline and alkaline--earth metals,
magnesium and their alloys.
The dry fire extinguishing powder applied has no negative effects on people,
does not cause damage of property and can be easily dry cleaned (wiped off or
vacuumed) from any surface.
Guarant-7 powder firefighting unit is used as a part of automatic and stand
alone firefighting units.

Keys on the figures correspond to:
1 – body filled with АВС-type dry powder;

4.2 Actuation of powder firefighting unit is performed as follows. When a
current pulse is supplied to electric actuator, successive pressure increase inside
the unit body, diaphragm destruction and discharge of dry powder to the burning
area take place.
The Guarant-7 unit can be started automatically (by control or alarm devices,
etc.) or manually (by push button).
The starting circuit is connected to terminals (4). When connecting Guarant 7,

polarity is not relevant.
5 Safety measures. Storage and transportation
5.1 Safety measures
5.1.1 Operating personnel servicing the unit shall be familiar and comply
with the requirements of this manual.
5.1.2 Never:
- use damaged unit (with mechanical damages of diaphragm, housing,
etc);
- dismantle the unit;
- perform any fire testing without approval or presence of the
manufacturer’s representative;
- perform any starting circuit testing with current over 20 mА;
- perform any repair works with connected external electric circuits.
5.1.3 Not admissible:
- storage and placing of units near heating appliances;
- exposure of firefighting units to precipitation, direct sunlight,
corrosive media, moisture.
5.1.4 During installation, the safety instructions for working at heights
must be observed.
5.1.5 During connection of auxiliary equipment, power must be disabled.
5.1.6 Charging, recharging and inspection of the units shall be performed in
dedicated spaces with proper equipment in the manufacturer’s premises or fire
extinguisher service stations.
5.1.7 Disposal of waste dry powder shall be provided according to local
legislation on disposal of solid municipal waste. The housing shall be disposed as scrap
metal, slag as general waste.
5.2 Storage and transportation
5.2.1 The units are supplied by the manufacturer in cardboard boxes.
5.2.2 Transportation of the unit in the manufacturer’s packing is allowed
by all the types of vehicles, for any distances according to Freight handling

guidelines.
5.2.3 The firefighting units, when stored or transported, shall be positioned
vertically (with diaphragm assembly down).
5.2.4 Stockpiling of units packed in original packages should be done up
to maximum 5 layers.
6 Unit preparing for operation
6.1 Unpack the unit, perform visual examination, check integrity of
seals.
Determine locations of the unit installation. Fire protection of spaces with
area not exceeding protection zone of the unit shall be provided with a single
firefighting unit installed in the center of the zone to be protected. For protection
of larger spaces, the firefighting units shall be located uniformly over the area.
The distance between adjacent units shall not exceed 4 m. The distance between
end units and walls shall not exceed 2 m.
6.2 Fasten mounting assembly(ies) of firefighting unit(s) considering
specific points (as per p. 6.1). Coordinates of holes for fastening Guarant-7 units are
shown on figure 3.

6.3 Lift the unit to installation position, insert mounting assembly into
mounting platform and splint up.
Attention! The ceiling structures at which mounting platforms are mounted
should withstand permanent load of at least five-times weight of the unit.

6.4 Connect starting circuit
7 Maintenance
7.1 Guarant-7 does not require any special servicing.
7.2 Visual inspection of the unit for damages and alterations should be
performed every three months. If any defects are detected (dents, damages etc),
the unit is subject to replacement.
7.3 Dry powder does not require checking during the whole service life.
8 Manufacturer’s warranty
8.1 The manufacturer guarantees compliance with the specification
requirements if the operation, transportation and storage conditions are met.
8.2 The unit's term of working operability is 12 years, which starts from the
manufacturer's QC inspection date.
8.3 The unit's lifetime is 10 years within the term of working operability,
which starts from the purchase date.
8.4 The warranty period is 1.5 years within the unit lifetime, which starts
from the purchase date.
8.5 The manufacturerguarantees repair of malfunctions detected by
customer during warranty period within 1 month from notification.
8.6 The manufacturer disclaims any liability if:
- operation and safety rules are not met;
- the passport is lost.
- manufacturer’s seals-are missing;
