System Overview
THE CERVO 2.4 SYSTEM
TheCervo 2.4 system includes a computer and harness which measures speed,dis-
tance, cadence (Pro),and heart rate. Thisinformationistransmitted via receiver placed
onthefront fort. Thereceiver transfersthedata via a wired signal to a computer
mounted onthehandlebar or stem. Heart ratedata istransferred via a non-coded
telemetry signal from thechest strap monitor. Thedata isthen integrated to display
current,average, and maximum biometricinformation.
PREPARING FORINSTALLATION
Theonly item needed for installationina cablecutter to trim excess cabletie. See
TABLE 1 to verify packagecontents..
UPGRADING TO POWERTAP
TheCervo isthesamecomputer used with thePowerTap SL 2.4 models. Someof the
features ontheCervo will not functionwithout thePowerTap hub and receiver. The
Cervo 2.4 caneasily beupgraded to thePowerTap SL 2.4 by contacting your local
dealer or CycleOpsdirectly at 800-783-7257.

SYSTEM INSTALLATION
1. Attach Sensor to Fork
Attach sensor to front fork so themagnet passes
within3-5 inches of thesensor (FIGURE1). Place
cabletiethrough sensor to secure. Makesurethe
logo sideof thesensor faces themagnet.
3. Attach Computer Shoeto Handlebar or Stem
Thereceiver shoecanbemounted oneither thehandlebar or stem. Securethe
mounting base with cableties. Slidethecomputer shoeinthedirectionof thearrow
asdepicted ineither FIGURE 2A or 2B depending onmounting location.

4. Install Cadence Sensor (Pro)
Only theCervo Pro isableto measurecadence
with theincluded cadence sensor. First install
thepedal cadence sensor to theleft chainstay
inline with thepedal spindle. Next attach
cadence magnet to thecrank arm. Ensurethe
center of themagnet passes theline of thesen-
sor unit. Do not center themagnet inrelationto
the
sensor (FIGURE 3). See COMPUTER SETUP 4 to
correctly configurethecomputer for thechosen
method of cadence determination.
5. Place Computer into Computer Shoe
Place thecomputer into themounting shoeonthehandlebar or
stem. Line up theslotsonthebase of thecomputer with the
bracket and slidecomputer toward therider (FIGURE 4). NOTE:
Ensurethecomputer isfully inserted onto thereceiver shoefor
proper data transmission.
6. Heart RateMonitor Strap
Positiontheheart ratemonitor strap onyour torso aspic-
tured inFIGURE 5. Thestrap should rest just beneath the
pectoralismuscles of thechest. For best resultsslightly
moisten theelectrodes wherecontact ismadewith skin.
Theheart ratestrap mustbewornto enabletheheart rate
function. NOTE: Thechest strap for theCervo2.4 uses a
coded frequency and isnot compatiblewith other
manufacturer’schest straps.

7. Verify Installation
Check to makesureall componentsareproperly secured.
Spinwheel and verify that intheupper left hand corner of
thecomputer thetransmissioniconilluminates (FIGURE 6).
Thisindicates thesensor isproperly transmitting a signal to
thecomputer. If thetransmissioniconisnot illuminated
consult TROUBLESHOOTING for further instructions.

[MODE] or [SELECT] for 2 sec.
3) Press [MODE] and [SELECT] = simultaneously press and release of both

Hold [MODE] to togglebetween display modes.
POWERCONSERVATION
Thecomputer haspower saving features to prolong battery life. Thecomputer powers
downthedisplay after four (4) minutes of inactivity. Press either [MODE] or [SELECT]
to activatethedisplay.

Computer Navigation
HEART RATE FUNCTION
Thetop level of themaindisplay showscurrent,and averageheart ratereadings.
1) Press [MODE] to scroll thecursor to thetop line of themaindisplay.
2) Press [SELECT] to togglethrough theheart ratefunctionoptions.
Current Heart Rate
Current heart rateisdisplayed onthetop line and shownup to 255
beatsper minute(BPM) (FIGURE 8). You must wear theheart ratechest
strap to enabletheheart ratemeasurement function. NOTE: The
Cervo2.4 uses a non-coded chest strap.
AverageHeart Rate
Thisvalueisa running averageof theheart rateinBPM. If thereisno
heart rateinformationa “0” will display (FIGURE 9).
SPEED FUNCTION
Themiddlelevel of themaindisplay showscurrent,max, and averagespeed readings.
1) Press [MODE] to scroll thecursor to themiddleline of themaindisplay.

Odometer (O)

displayed inmiles or kilometers. To manually input theyour odometer

INTERVAL MODE
Thecomputer hastwo display modes. Thetrip modeshowstotal
trip metrics, and theinterval modedisplaysinterval specificinfor-
mation. Theinterval modefunctions asa lap marker and isessen-
tially alwayson.
To beginthefirst interval,or advance to thenext interval:
Press and release [MODE] and [SELECT] simultaneously. NOTE: Do
not hold both buttons downasyou will clear all data from the
computer.
Intrip mode“INT” and thenew interval number will appear and disappear (FIGURE
19). Thecomputer canmark anunlimited number of intervalsalthough after nine (9)
themarker will beginto count back at one (1). For example, interval ten (10) isdis-
played following interval (9) asone (1).
To view interval specificdata (power,speed,and multi-functiondisplay) from any loca-
tiononthedisplay:
1) Hold [MODE] until “INT” appearsontheleft hand sideof thedisplay. The“INT” and
interval number will remainillumined asa forth line inthemaindisplay (FIGURE 19).

2)To exit back out of interval modehold [MODE] until “INT” disappears.

INTERVAL MEMORY MODE
To access stored interval data for theprevious9 intervalsonly:
1) Enter theinterval modehold [MODE] until “INT” appearsontheleft hand sideof the
display.
2) Press [MODE] to scroll until the“INT” flashes. NOTE: INT now constitutes a fourth
level of display.
3) Hold [SELECT] and thememory icon(”M”) appearsnext to theinterval number
(FIGURE 20).
4) With “INT” flashing,press [SELECT] to advance to theinterval you wish to view.
5) Press [MODE] scroll thecursor to theline of informationyou wish to view. NOTE:
Recovery periodsaswell aswork periodsaredisplayed inmemory mode.
To exit back out of theinterval memory modehold [SELECT]
until thememory icondisappears. Thecomputer isnow dis-
played intheinterval mode. To exit from theinterval mode
from any locationonthedisplay hold [MODE] until “INT” dis-
appears.

Computer Setup
Thesetup featurehasfour (4) mainmodes. You do not haveto completeall four to
changesettings. Please reference each modeto determine thecorrect locationto
begin. NOTE: Thecomputer illustrations for each modedisplay thefactory default set-

will clear all current data.

of measure, odometer. NOTE: You areunableto moveback to a previously viewed set-
tings. You must restart setup 1 to makecorrections.
1) From thecomputer setup mainmenu press [SELECT] and scroll
until thenumber one (1) isflashing. Press [MODE] to enter setup
mode.
2) Press [SELECT] to togglebetween a 12 or 24 hour clock. Press
[MODE] to save.
3) Press [SELECT] to togglebetween AM (A) or PM (P). Press
[MODE] to save.
4) Press [SELECT] to togglethrough digit values to set hoursin
