skin. Theheartratestrapmustbeworntoenabletheheartratefunc-
tion. Itshouldbesnugenoughtostayinplaceduringtheride.
NOTE: Joule3.0iscompatiblewithanyANT+compatibleheartrate
strap. TheCycleOpsheartratestrapcontainsauserreplaceable
CR2032battery;withanexpectedlifeofthreeyears,assumingone
hourofuseperday. Afterreplacingsensorbattery,Joulemustbere-

TheJoule3.0ispoweredbyauserreplaceablelithium-ionbatterythatcanberechargedusing
theincludedUSBcableandacomputer.A5VDC400mAchargercanalsobeused(notincluded).
Afullychargedbatterycanrunforapproximately60hoursbeforeitmustberecharged.Recharg-
ingcompletely,viaUSBcableorACadapterwilltakeapproximatelysixhours. Thebatterylevelis
indicatedinthetitlebar. TheJoule3.0isfullychargedatthefactory,butshippingandhandling

filesizeincreaseswithridetimebutaonehourrideisapproximately150KB,historyfilesare
always1KB(1,000historyfiles=1MB)andworkoutfilesalsoincreasewithworkoutsizebuta
workoutcontaining500segmentswillbeapproximately50KB. AmicroSDcardslotisavailable
underthebatteryforadditionalmemory. OnceamicroSDcardisinstalled,allfilesarestoredon

containsecondbysecondridedataforanalysisbyPCorMaconsoftwaresuchasCycleOps
PowerAgent. HistoryfilescontainsummarydataonlyandareusedbyJoule3.0 forcalculating
averages,maximumsandtotalsforReports. WorkoutfilesarecreatedinPowerAgentandsentto
Joule3.0.
Wheneverridetimeisaccumulated,anactivitiesfileiscreatedandsavedautomatically. Ahistory
fileisgeneratedanytimearideisstoppedandsaved. Note:becausehistoryfilesareusedby
Reportsforcalculatingaverages,maximumsandtotalsitisimportanttomanagethemcarefully,
onlysavingridesthatyouwanttocontributetothesecalculations. BecauseJoule3.0 actsasa
massstoragedevice,activitiesandhistoryfilesmayalsobeviewedfromaPCorMacwhencon-
