strapshouldrestjustbeneaththepectoralismusclesofthechest. For
bestresultsslightlymoistentheelectrodeswherecontactismadewith
skin. Theheartratestrapmustbeworntoenabletheheartratefunction.
Itshouldbesnugenoughtostayinplaceduringtheride.
NOTE: Joule2.0iscompatiblewithanyANT+compatibleheartratestrap.
TheCycleOpsheartratestrapcontainsauserreplaceableCR2032bat-
tery;withanexpectedlifeofthreeyears,assumingonehourofuseper
day. Afterreplacingsensorbattery,Joulemustbere-pairedtoheartrate

TheJoule2.0ispoweredbyauserreplaceablelithium-ionbatterythatcanberechargedusing
theincludedUSBcableandacomputer.A5VDC400mAchargercanalsobeused(notincluded).
Afullychargedbatterycanrunforapproximately20hoursbeforeitmustberecharged.Recharg-
ingcompletely,viaUSBcableorACadapterwilltakeapproximatelysixhours. Thebatterylevelis
indicatedinthetitlebar. TheJoule2.0isfullychargedatthefactory,butshippingandhandling
mayinadvertentlyconsumecharge.FormoreinformationseeImportantPrecautionssectionon

Joule2.0provides4MBofonboardmemoryforstoringactivities,historyandworkouts. Activity
filesizeincreaseswithridetimebutaonehourrideisapproximately150KB,historyfilesare
always1KB(1,000historyfiles=1MB)andworkoutfilesalsoincreasewithworkoutsizebuta
workoutcontaining500segmentswillbeapproximately50KB. AmicroSDcardslotisavailable
underthebatteryforadditionalmemory. OnceamicroSDcardisinstalled,allfilesarestoredon

Joule2.0 savesthreetypesoffilesintomemory,activities,workoutsandhistory. Activitiesfiles
containsecondbysecondridedataforanalysisbyPCorMaconsoftwaresuchasCycleOps
PowerAgent. HistoryfilescontainsummarydataonlyandareusedbyJoule2.0 forcalculating
averages,maximumsandtotalsforReports. WorkoutfilesarecreatedinPowerAgentandsentto
Joule2.0.
Wheneverridetimeisaccumulatedanactivitiesfileiscreatedandsavedautomatically. Ahistory
fileisgeneratedanytimearideisstoppedandsaved. Note:becausehistoryfilesareusedby
Reportsforcalculatingaverages,maximumsandtotalsitisimportanttomanagethemcarefully,
onlysavingridesthatyouwanttocontributetothesecalculations. BecauseJoule2.0 actsasa
massstoragedevice,activitiesandhistoryfilesmayalsobeviewedfromaPCorMacwhencon-
nectedviaUSBcable.
