C.PushtheOPEPmouth-piecefirmlyoverthetopofthe
module — push until it clicks on to the case.
Using the PocketPEP
A. Take the dust cap o the PocketPEP. Insert mouth-piece in mouth.
B. Takeinaveryslow,deeperbreaththannormal.Holdyourbreathfor2-3seconds.
C. Breathe out through the mouth-piece with more force than normal.
D. Keeptakingveryslowdeepbreathsin—andlongbreathsoutthroughthePocketPEP—
10to20times.
E.Yourhealthcarepractitionermaytellyouthenumberofbreathstheywantyoutotake.
F.Aeratleast10breathsinandout,do2or3‘hucoughs’toclearyourlungs.
Cleaning and Disinfecting the
PocketPEP
Cleaning the PocketPEP in soap and water.
• Soakpartsinwarmsoapywaterfor15minutes,moving
them around from time to time, and rinse.
• Allowtoairdrybeforenextuse.
The PocketPEP can also be cold sterilized if desired
according to option 1 or 2 below.
1. Isopropyl Alcohol
• Takeapart,washandrinsethe6parts.
Donotreassemble.
• Soakpartsin70%Isopropylalcoholfortwominutes.
Put on plastic gloves and remove parts from the basin.
• Rinsepartsinsteriledistilledwater.
• Allowpartstodrybeforenextuse.
2. Hydrogen Peroxide (3%)
• Soakthe6partsin(3%)HydrogenPeroxidefor
30minutes.
• Rinsepartsinsteriledistilledwater.
• Allowpartstodrybeforenextuse.
