LUBRICATION
OPERATION
Ifthetoolisnotusedwithanin-line lubricationsystemon
theairsupplyitisnecessarytoperiodicallylubricatethe
toolwithairtoollubrication.
USEONLY THEAIRTOOLLUBRICANTS SUPPLIEDWITH
THETOOL. Donotuse otherlubricantsastheymay
damagethetool.
Donotuse detergentoil,WD-40,transmissionfluid,motor
oil, orotherlubricantsnotspecificallydesignated as airtool
lubricants.Theselubricantswillcauseacceleratedwearto
theseals,o-rings,and bumpersinthe tool, resulting in
poortoolperformanceandfrequentmaintenance.

Adjusttheairpressureatrecommendedoperating
pressure70-115PSI
The correctairpressureisthelowestpressurewhich will
do the job.Usingthe toolatahigherthan required air
pressureunnecessarilyoverstressesthetool.

thehardnessofworkpiece.
Don't exceed
115PSI.

operation.
All tooloperatorsand theirimmediatesupervisorsmust
becomefamiliarwiththe operatorsafetyinstructions
beforeoperatingthetool.
Includedwitheach toolareone copyofthese
Operating/SafetyInstructions. Keepthispublicationsfor
futurereference.
Install afilter,regulator,lubricatorunitandmoisturetrap
on yourairdeliverysystemperthemanufacturer's
instructionsforthesedevices.Additionally,installa
pressuregauge asclose aspracticaltothe tool,
preferablywithin10 feet.
Selecthoses withaminimuminnerdiameterof1/4
inchesandamaximumlengthof100 feet.

To reduce theriskofinjuryfromahosebursting,select
hosesthatareratedatleast200PSI.
Selectfittings thatareappropriatesizefortheselected
hoses.Thetool andairhosemusthaveahosecoupling
sothatall pressureisremovedfromthetoolwhenthe
couplingjointisdisconnected.
Neverusenonrelievingcouplersand/orfemalequick
disconnectcouplingsonthetool. Nonrelieving couplings
and femalecouplings willtraphighpressureairinthetool
whentheairlineisdisconnected.Thiswillleavethe tool
charged withenoughairafterithas been disconnected to
driveanail. OnlyMALEpneumatictypeairconnectors
shouldbefittedtothetool,sothathighpressureairinthe
toolisventedtoatmosphereas soonastheairlineis
disconnected.
SettheregulatorattheairdeliverysystemtoaPSIthat
fallswithinthe tool'soperating rangeof70-115PSI.The
correctpressureisthe lowestpressurethatwill dothe
job.

Snaptheairhoseontothequickconnector.
Checkforairleakage.If leakage isnoted,cease usingthe
toolimmediatelyand performed by qualified repair
personnel.
Besuretheairpressuregaugeisoperating properlyand
checkitatleasttwiceaday.

Emptythe magazinecompletely.
Firethetoolintoapieceofscrapwood toensurethereis
no compressed airfastenersleftinthetool.
Setthe toolonitsside toexposethe fourscrews.
Removethe fourscrews,then,remove thefootplate.
Alignthefourscrewholesinthereplacementfootplate
withthe fourthreaded mountingholes.
Using thefourscrewsyouremoved justnow,securethe
replacementfootplatetothe tool.
Ensurethecorrectfootplateisinstalledbyfiring intoa
scrappieceofflooringandchecking forproperfastener
placement.

COLDWEATHEROPERATION
When usingthetoolincoldconditionsthetoolwillcycle
slowerthan usualwhiledriving the firstnails.Thecyclerate
willincrease asthetoolwarmsup.Keeptoolwarmtoavoid
reduced cyclerate.
DONOTUSEAFROZENTOOL. Allowtooltothawbefore
using.Moisturefrozeninthetoolmay impedeinternal
componentsresultingintheriskofinjuryand/ortool
damage.

adjust3/4"-5/8"woodfloors.Thistoolisshippedfrom
factorywithloading thefrontthefootfor3/4"woodfloor.
Disconnecttoolfromairsupply.
Emptythe magazinecompletely.
Firethetoolintoapieceofscrapwood toensurethereis
no compressed airfastenersleftinthetool.
Setthe tool onitssidetoexposethetwoBoltsandtwo
smallplates.
LoosethesetwoBoltsandtwosmall platestoensure
thefrontcan eslideintherangeofgroove.(seefig9)
Adjustthe properpositionofthefrontfootaccording to
theactualthicknessofwoodfloorandthen locktightly
thesetwoBoltsand twosmallplates.
Ensurethecorrectfrontfootsetforthewood floorby
firingintoascrappiece offlooring andcheckingfor
properfastenerplacement.

pieceofwood. Adjustthedrivingdepthbyprovidingmore
orless airpressure.
Attachthetooltothe airresource.Startyour
compressorandcheckthepressure,makingsureitis
setbetween 70-115psi.
Holdthearmsecurelyand press footplatetothework
surface.Makesuretheplateisoverthefastenertarget
position.
Press downhardso thatthefootplateisfirmly
contactingtheworksurface.Then,using the mallet
packetwiththetool, strike the hammercap firmlyto
drivethefastenerintoworksurface.Lift thetooloffthe

Removeall nails.
Trytofirethe toolintoapiece ofscrapwood orflooring
tomake surethatit'sincapableoffiringany fasteners.
SetthetoolonitssidetoexposethetwoBoltsandtwo
smallplates underthescrews.
RemovethesetwoBoltsandtwosmallplate.Three
NoseBoltscanbeseenafterremovingthe frontfoot.
RemovethreeNoseBolts,slide theDriverGuideoutto
exposethejammed fastener.
Removejammedfastener, usingpliersorascrewdriver
ifrequired.
ReplacetheDriverGuide and NoseBolts.
ReplacetheFrontfoot,Plateandboltsback.
Press theDriverGuide againstapiece ofwood,andtest
firethe fastenersseveraltimestocheckforproper
operation.Ifthetoolisproperlyfiring,youmaycontinue
usingthetool.Ifthe toolfailstoperformproperly,
immediatelyiscontinue useandhavethetool repaired
byaqualified servicetechnician.

inchNPTthreads)withaninside diameterof0.315 inch
(8mm)onthenailerand a3/8inchquick couplerontheair
hose.
WithON/OFFswitchinOFF position,plug compressor
intoelectricaloutlet.

Closepressureregulatorbyturning all thewaytothe
left. TurncompressorON andletitpumpallthewayup
toautomaticshut-off pressure.
Attachairhosetoregulatoroutlet.Adjustpressure
regulatorbyturningtothe rightsothatoutletpressureis
between70PSIto115PSI.
Load fastenersintonailer.
Pointthenailerinasafedirection whileattaching toair
hose.
Nailerisreadyforuse.You mayneed toadjustoutlet
pressuretoachieve properfastenerdepth.
