Safety regulations
1.The frequencyconvertermustbedisconnected
frommainsifrepairworkistobecarriedout.Check
that themainssupplyhasbeendisconnected and
thatthenecessarytimehaspassedbeforeremov-
ingmotorandmainsplugs.
2.The[STOP/RESET]keyonthecontrolpanelof
the frequency converterdoesnot disconnectthe
equipment frommainsandisthusnottobe used
asasafetyswitch.
3. Correctprotectiveearthingoftheequipment must
beestablished,theusermustbe protectedagainst
supplyvoltage, andthemotormustbeprotected
againstoverloadinaccordancewithapplicablena-
tionalandlocalregulations.
4. Theearthleakage currentsare higher than3.5
mA.
5.Protection against motor overload isnotincluded
inthefactorysetting.Ifthisfunctionisdesired,
set parameter 128todatavalue ETRtrip or data
value ETRwarning.

motor current andrated motor frequency. For the
NorthAmericanmarket: The ETRfunctionspro-
videclass20 motoroverload protectioninaccor-
dancewithNEC.
6. Donotremovetheplugsforthemotor andmain
supplywhilethefrequencyconverter isconnected
tomains.Checkthat themainssupplyhasbeen
disconnectedandthat thenecessarytimehasex-
piredbeforeremovingmotorandmainsplugs.
7. Pleasenotethat the frequencyconverterhasmore
voltageinputsthanL1,L2 andL3,when
loadsharing(linkingofDCintermediatecircuit)and
external24VDChavebeeninstalled.
Checkthat allvoltageinputshavebeendiscon-
nected and thatthenecessarytime haspassed
before repairworkiscommenced.
Warningagainst unintendedstart
1.The motorcanbebroughttoastopbymeansof
digitalcommands, buscommands, referencesor
alocalstop, whiletheadjustablefrequencydrive
isconnected totheACline.Thesestop functions
areNOTsufficienttoensurethatnounintended
startoccuresandshouldNOTbe usedfor per-
sonalsafetyconsiderations.
2. Whileparametersarebeing changed, themotor
maystart.Consequently, thestopkey Stop/Re-
set”mustalways beactivated,followingwhichdata
canbe modified.
3.Amotorthathasbeen stoppedmaystart if faults
occur inthe electronicsofthe adjustablefrequency
drive, orifatemporaryoverloadorafaultinthe
AClinesupplyorthemotor connectionceases.
Installationofmechanical brake
Donotconnect amechanicalbraketothe output
fromthefrequency converter beforethe relevant
parametersfor brakecontrolare parameterised.

326andcut-incurrent and frequencyinparam-
eter 223 and225).

It isimportanttofollowtherecommendationsre-
gardinginstallationonITline, sincesufficientpro-
tectionofthecompleteinstallationmustbe
observed. Nottakingcare usingrelevant monitor-
ingdevicesforITline supplymayresultindamage.
