The DAN M4-A is a ashing lifejacket light which is acvated manually. The DAN W4-
A can be acvated manually or by water sensor.

The DAN M4-A / W4-A lifejacket light is for use on all types of lifejackets.
The DAN M4-A / W4-A light can be supplied with xing clips or a recessed housing. The clips is intend-
ed to be placed behind a strip of lifejacket material or reecve tape or clipped on to the tube of an in-
atable lifejacket: the light is secured by pressing it into the clip.
The recessed housing is designed to be ed into a cut out on a foam lifejacket.

It is the responsibility of the lifejacket manufacturer to ensure that the light is aached securely and is
in the correct posion on the lifejacket to provide maximum visibility when the wearer is in the water.
Installaon
The DAN W4-A is switched on automacally when the sensor is immersed in water; no user acon is
required. The light can be switched on and o by operang the clearly marked switch on the top of the
surface for at least 1 second. The DAN M4-A is operated by the manual switch only.
*Manual operaon requires the user to press and hold the switch for at least 1 second : when turning
the light on it will emit 2 ashes in quick succession indicang it is going in to ash mode and that the
switch now can be released. Turning the light o; press and hold the switch for 1 second the light will
emit a steady light when pressed. Now release the switch and the light will turn o.

DAN M4-A / W4-A units are maintenance free, but the following cheks should be made annually:
1. Inspect the light and its aachment for signs of damage or corrosion.
2. For DAN W4-A, a test probe (Daniamant Part No. 1990) can be used to test the water sensor switch.
Alternavely a paper clip may be applied to the two water contacts.
3. For DAN M4-A DAN W4-A, test the light by operang the switch as described above * The light must
ash. Operate the switch again, and the light must stop ashing.
It is recommended that the light is acvated for one minute.

Safety
Daniamant marine safety light systems have a design life of 5 years. The baeries are herme-
cally sealed pressurised primary Alkaline/Manganese cells, and as supplied are environmental-
ly protected by a moulded plasc housing. In this condion the units poses no denable haz-
ard to health.

Safety Data Sheet , available from our website www.daniamant.com or on request.
Health and Safety informaon
The storage life of the DAN M4-A / DAN W4-A baeries is ve years from the date of manufac-
ture; the expiry date is clearly marked on the unit. On expiry the light should be carefully re-
moved, and a new DAN M4-A / W4-A ed.

Daniamant´s Survivor Locaon Lights contain baeries as well as electrical and electronic
components, and must therefore be segregated from the domesc waste stream and recy-
cled. Disposing of this product correctly will help save valuable resources and prevent any
potenal negave eects on human health and the environment, which could otherwise
arise from inappropriate waste handling. Daniamant´s lights are marked with the symbol
below which conveys that this waste must be treated separately from household waste.
To ensure compliance with the WEEE and Baery Regulaons, the Survivor Locaon Lights
placed on the market in the UK or Denmark should be returned to Daniamant in the UK or
Denmark, or disposed in your nearest WEEE Designated Collecon Facility, operated by your
Local Authority.
