reasonmaycausedamagetothefabricsandothercomponentsoftheliferaft.

LALIZASLeisure-Raft.

2. Introduction
This manual applies to the LALIZAS Inatable Liferaft series Leisure-Raft. The
LALIZASLeisure-Raftsareavailableinthefollowingtypes:

3. Description of the Liferaft
TheliferafthasanOperatingTemperatureof00Cto+500C and a stowage/drop height
ofmaximum4mabovethesea-level.
Theliferaftispackedinavalisewhichcanbestoredinaninternallockeraswell.The
liferaft container is manufactured by materials that are resistant to exposure of bad
weather.
Theliferaftcanbeup-rightedincaseofitbeingcapsizedanditisabletowithstand
thenumberofthepersonsitisdesignedtoaccommodatewhenitoats.Itautomatically
inatesbypullingthepainterlineandretainsitsnormalconditionwhenitisloadedwithall
thepersonsandtheequipment.Itsoorismanufacturedbywaterproofmaterials.
Themainbodyoftheliferaftconsistsofonebuoyantcompartment(containingsafety
valve)manufacturedbyNylonTPUcoated.Itisinatedthroughanon-returnvalve,ensuring
theotationoftheliferaft.Incasethebuoyancychamberisdamaged,thepump,thatis
includedinthestandardequipmentoftheLiferaft,canbeusedforrestoringthepressure.
Thecanopyoftheliferaft(forthemodelswithcanopy)whichisofvividcolorisdesigned
toprotectthepersonsintheliferaftagainstbadweatherconditions.Itbearsoneentrance
thatiseasilyindicatedandallowstheowofsufcientairforthepersonsonboard(even
when it is closed).
TheinationsystemoftheliferaftprovidesenoughCO2gastoinatethebuoyancy
chamberandbearsanonreturnvalveactivatedbyanoperatingheadthatisdrivenbythe
painter line.
For all models of the Leisure-Raft, gas cylinder used for ination is rellable. To
maintainthegoodoperationofgascylinder,itmustbeinspectedperiodicallybyaLALIZAS
authorized service station.

4. Instructions for use of the Liferaft
Ination of the liferaft
Whenthetimetousetheliferaftcomes,rstofallyoushouldsendalarmsandsignals
byallmeansandputonlifejacketsorotherprotectiveappliancesonboard.Youshouldalso
remembertocarryemergencypositionindicator(EPIRB),GPS,freshwaterandfoodas
muchaspossible.
Movetheliferaftfromthestowagepositiontoanopenplaceonthedeckoftheboat.
Takeoutthepainterlinemarkedfabriccovervaliseandpulloutapproximately2me-
tersofpainterline.Attachthepainterlinetoasolidpointonthedeckoftheboat(Picture
3) to secure the liferaft.
Takethevaliseandthrowitintothewater(Picture4).Thevaliseoftheliferaftwilloat.
Duringthetimeofthevalisefallingintothewater,thepainterlinewillbepulledout
continuously.Whenthevalisearrivesatthewatersurface,thestrongpullingoutofpainter
lineshallgoonimmediately(Picture5),untilthereleasecableconnectedtothepainterline
activates the operation head of the gas cylinder.

Thegascylinderthenwillinatethebuoyancytubeoftheliferafttoitsfullshapeand
theliferaftwilloatonthewatersurface.Aftertheination,asmallnormalleakagemay
occurinordertostabilizethepressureofthechamber.Iftheliferaftisinupward-oating
positionafteritisfullyinated,pullthepainterlinetodrawtheliferaftclosetotheship.Ifthe
liferaftisinreversedpositionafteritisfullyinated,onepersonshallrightitovertoupward-
oatingpositioninthefollowingway:
Theoperatorshallgrabwithonehandthesidewhichisequippedwiththegascylinder,
pulltherightinghandleandturnitoveraboutthecylinder.Itwillbeeasierundercondition
of downwind.
Ifthepassenger’spositionisnotfarawayfromthewatersurface,heorshecanjump
intotheliferaftdirectly.Thepassengersfallenintothewatershallswimclosetotheliferaft,
andthenboardtheliferaftthroughboardingstrapaftertheyhavetakenoffshoesandsharp
objects.
Afterallthepassengershaveboardedtheliferaft,separatetheliferaftfromtheship
quicklybycuttingoffthepainterline.Checkthepositionofthesafetyknifeinthediagram
oftheliferaft(seePicture2).
Afterboarding,exceptseatingorderly,theoccupantsshallsearchanyothersinthe
waterandhelpthemtoboardtheliferaftbygivingprioritytotheinjuredones.Anyfainted
personsinthewatermustbeputonboardafterbeencarriedwiththeirbackclosetothe
tubeandliftedfromarmpits.Allthepersonsthatareonboardshallbeasdryandheated
aspossible.
When the liferaft is away from theabandonedshipandinasafeposition,afterchecking
thattheseaanchorisconnectedtotheLiferaftproperly,unrollitandlaunchitsoastoavoid
liferaftoatingtoofarawayfromthesinkingshipforthesakeofrescuingintime.
Maintain the liferaft in a good condition.
Installation of the Canopy
Forthemodelsequippedwithcanopyfollowtheinstructionsbelowtoinstallthecanopy.
• Findthecanopybagandopenit.
• Inatethecanopyarchusingtheredoraltube.
• Whendonewithination,assemblethecanopyarchwiththebuoyancychamber
usingthebucklesattheendsofthearch.
• Findthehook&looptapeontheinsideofthecanopyfabricandmatchthemwith
thehook&looptapeontheCanopyarch.
• PulltheorangefabricdownandhooktheclipsintheD-ringsonthebuoyancy
tube.
• Liftthecanopytillitisverticaltotheoor.
• Placethebottomofthecanopyoutsideoftheliferaft.
• Inordertoensureprotectionfromphysicalelementskeepthecanopydownand
closed.

6. Advice on the transportation and the storage of the liferaft
6.1Transportationoftheliferaft:
• When transporting or moving the liferaft use only the handle on the top of the
valise.
• When placing it down on surfaces put it with special care.
6.2Storageoftheliferaft:
• Beforeputtingtheliferaftinitslocationreadtheowner’smanual.Keeptheman-
ual in a safe position.
• Theliferaftmustalwaysbelocatedinadryplace,withoutobstacles
• Donotputweightsoranymetallicitemsinthemainbodyoftheliferaft.
• Itisalwaysnecessarytofollowtheregulationsthatareobligedabouttheinstal-
lationoftherescuemeansonboard.
• Theliferaftshouldneverbeusedasasteporasaseat.
• Theliferaftshouldneverbeattachedusingchainsoranydevicewhichisdifcult
tobeseparated.
• Youshouldinstallmore liferaftsonthe sameboat.If so,theliferafts mustbe
located with a certain distance one to the other.
• Itmustbestowedinsuchawaythatwouldnotsufferanycollisionsandwouldbe
protectedagainstanyfactorsbytheenvironmentelements.
• Iftheliferafthasmajordamagesonthevalise,youshouldcontactaLALIZAS
authorized Service Station.
• Thereisapossibilitythatsomeofthestandardttingsoftheliferaftmayaffect
theperformanceofacompass,soyoushouldkeeptheliferaftatleastonemeter
away from the compass.
• Grease,oil, fuel andvarious impurities maydamage the fabricand affectthe
lifetime and operation of the liferaft.
7. Maintenance and servicing of the liferaft
Advice on the servicing of the liferaft
Theliferaftshouldbeinspectedandservicedatintervalsnotlongerthanthreeyears.
Incaseofactivation,orexistenceofdamages,serviceitimmediately.Theinspectionand
servicemustbeperformedbyaLALIZASauthorizedServiceStation.LALIZASS.A.isnot
liableforanyinspectionorservicecarriedoutbyanunauthorizedServiceStation.

Important Note: Makesurethatallthepartsoftheliferaftareinated.Ifthetubeof
theliferaftisdeated,youshouldrestorethepressurebyusingthepumpofthestandard
equipment of the liferaft. The pressure relief valve is usually located inside the liferaft. If
thereisaleakoftheinationgas,theraftmustbeventilatedusingthecanopyopening.

9. LOG BOOK
Instructions on how to keep the log book
A. Thelogbookofaliferaftshouldalwaysfollowtheliferaftinallitssuccessiveassignments.
B. The liferaft should be equipped with the same accessories and materials when it is
delivered and during its successive assignments afterward.
C. Theliferaftshouldbeinspected&servicedperiodically,whichmustbedoneonlyby
Service Stations authorized by LALIZAS. LALIZAS is not liable for any inspection and
servicecarriedoutbyanunauthorizedServiceStation.
D.In caseof loss,theft, orchange of names of the assigned ship, a new copy of this
manualmustberequestedfromLALIZASS.Awhowillsenditagainstpayment.
