1. INTRODUCTION

This service bulletin is to advise service stations of the change in valves, firing heads and cylinders

for the Aero Compact liferafts.

Starting from July, 2014 all Aero Compact rafts produced by Revere will now be equipped with the

following valves

Pressure Relief Valve: Thanner OTS-45 (Revere P/N 95-324-004)

Topping Off Valve: Mirada A-52030 (Revere P/N 95-326-009)

Inlet Check Valve: Mirada B-51994 (Revere P/N 95-325-005) 3/8-18NPSM

Universal Flange (PU): Mirada B-51073 (Revere P/N 95-326-001)

As a result of the inlet check valve replacement, new firing heads are required for all rafts starting

in July 2014.

The purpose of the technical update is to show the new items and procedures to follow for the

servicing of the inflation system with the new firing heads.

4. FIRING HEAD 95-41115-103 (M70) OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

See Chapter 8 –Assembly and Packing, Inflation Valve Disassembly & Rebuilding Process for

instructions on servicing the 41115 inflation valve. All service instructions remain the same, but

note the outlet fitting is now 3/8-18 NPSM rather than the previous fitting of 1/2-20 UNF.

5. PRV OTS-45 INSTALLATION

The OTS 45 relief valve consists of 4 main elements:

1. Valve body section.

2. Nut.

3. Washer / washer with closing cap.

4. O-ring.

The valve parts are produced from Acetal Copolymer (1+2+3)

The seal/o-ring (4) is made of silicone rubber.

INSTALLATION:

When the nut (2) is in position inside the tube, the washer (3) is placed over the hole with the

o-ring (4) in the center.

Cutting hole in the fabric: 22 mm

IMPORTANT

The grip rings of the washer (3) must be placed towards the fabric.

The valve body (1) is screwed into the nut through the fabric by hand, before any tools are used. The

valve is tightened to the raft and finally by torque tool. Depending of the fabric –reinforcement can be

necessary. Check the color code of the valve for the right pressure.

TIGHTENING:

To tighten the valve use a 32 mm top spanner/torque tool.

Tightening torque: 6 –8 Nm

NOTE:

The valve must not be re-tightened after installation. If a leakage appears between the fabric and the

relief valve, the valve must be taken apart and reinstalled until tight.

IMPORTANT:

If using the closing cap, be careful the cap is not fitted to the valve during packing. The locked valve

may damage the raft during inflation.

CAUTION:

Do not separate the spring, washer and valve piston.
