EXRF D250W PORF D250W
DANLERS radio receiver dimmers can be user programmed to respond
to any DANLERS radio frequency (RF) manual (or slave) sender. With
a manual sender the radio receiver dimmer will switch the load on full
when a programmed DANLERS RF sender up button is pressed quickly
and dim it up with a sustained up press. A quick down press will switch
the load off and a sustained down press will dim the load down.
With a slave sender, the radio receiver dimmer will match the state of
the device plugged into the slave sender - fully on or off.
The dimming technology used is ‘Trailing Edge’, ideal for
most
low
voltage transformers and direct mains dimmable CFL & LED lamps.
Mounting examples
WACE RFD250W Wall or Ceiling mounted onto a 16mm back box
CEFL RFD250W Ceiling Flush (cutout ø64mm) or in ceiling void
CEVO RFD250W Ceiling Void, ts through cutout ø60mm
EXRF D250W External unit - rated to IP65
PORF D250W Portable unit for plugging into 3-pin socket
Loading
Up to 250W of resistive load. Mains halogen lamps must incorporate
an integral thermal safety fuse.
Connection method
WACE, EXRF, DIN Via incorporated terminal block.
CEFL, CEVO Via incorporated 2 metre ex.
PORF Plugs into a square 3-pin socket.

Preprogrammed options
DANLERS radio receiver dimmers can be factory programmed, with the
assigned senders, to perform more complex functions, such as:
• Minimum and maximum dimming limit
• Variable manual dimming speed
• Automatic gradual dim On (max 4 minutes)
• Automatic gradual dim Off (max 4 minutes)
• Dim to a preset value over a preset time (max 4 minutes)
Troubleshooting
Radio receiver dimmer does not respond to sender:
• Ensure the sender is correctly assigned to the radio receiver.
• The sender is too far away or RF absorbed by building or trees.
Move sender closer to radio receiver or consider using a repeater.
• The sender battery is at (average life approx 5 years).
Change battery making reference to sender installation notes.
Load and receiver LED ash twice each time the sender is pressed:
• Ensure the radio receiver dimmer is not in programming mode.
Radio receiver stops working:
• The load or in-rush current is too large and has damaged receiver.
Ensure mains halogen lamps include a thermal safety fuse.
If you have a pre-programmed radio receiver dimmer please do
not attempt to reprogram it.
Each radio receiver dimmer can be programmed to respond to up to
15 senders as outlined below.
To assign a slave sender please refer to the installation notes received
with the slave sender.
CEFL RFD250W and WACE RFD250W have a single programming
hole, other units also have a smaller LED hole.
WARNING: Do not probe the smaller LED hole.
Needed: A small screwdriver to ‘Press’ the internal programming
button of the radio receiver.
Notes: ‘Quick Press’ - less than half a second, ‘Wait Press’ - until
next step is completed. To ‘Quick Press’ or ‘Wait Press’ the
manual sender use either the up or down button.
Ensure the radio receiver dimmer is powered.
WARNING: EXRF D250W terminals will be live during programming.
WARNING: If a load is connected during programming it will be
switched on when the LED is on.
To assign a Manual Sender
1 ‘Quick Press’ the radio receiver LED switches on.
2 ‘Quick Press’ the manual sender - LED ashes off twice.
To assign more senders repeat step 2
3 ‘Quick Press’ the radio receiver LED switches off.
To de-assign a Manual Sender
1 ‘Quick Press’ the radio receiver, LED switches on.
2 ‘Quick Press’ the manual sender - LED ashes off twice.
To de-assign more senders repeat step 2
3 ‘Quick Press’ the radio receiver LED switches off.
To de-assign all Senders
1 ‘Quick Press’ the radio receiver, LED switches on.
2 ‘Wait Press’ the radio receiver until LED ashes off ve times.
3 Wait for 5 seconds, LED switches off.
Installation procedure
1.Please read these notes carefully before commencing work.
In case of doubt please consult a qualied electrician.
Make sure the power is isolated from the circuit.
2.The radio receiver dimmer should be connected as:
L Live
N Neutral
V Variable dimmed output
3.Typical wiring diagrams and mounting details are shown below.
4. EXRFD250W: unit should be xed using ONLY the pre-drilled
mounting holes and 6-12mm diameter circular cables . If IP65 rating is
compromised, water ingress may occur, therefore you must carefully
drill through the drain-hole guide, on lower face of box with 4mm drill,
to max depth of 5mm, achieving IP54.
5. Once the wiring has been completed and veried, switch on the supply
and program the radio receiver dimmer to the appropriate senders.
