Instruction Manual: Darimo IX2 Stem
Thank you for buyin a Darimo product. We desi n from the very first steps to the
handcrafted laminates to exceed your expectations in our products.
It is very important to follow the installations instructions to ensure proper
operation of the product. Improper installation can cause dama es and Will reduce
the safety of the components.
You will need a torque wrench to adjust the torque without exceedin the
recommendations. If you don’t feel qualified to install the stem, ask for a bike
professional to do it. In case of any doubt you can contact us, we will help you
without any problem
-Headtube installation:
Make sure that the Darimo Stem is ood for your Bike and handlebar. The
handlebar must have a central diameter of 31.8mm and the fork head tube
28.6mm diameter. The minimum len th of the head tube to install the stem is
43mm, lower len ths are dan erous, the stem will not have enou h contact
surface.
Apply a thin layer of mountin paste in both components, you can sli htly open the
stem clamps to insert it. You can use a wed e of soft material such as a wood
clothespin. Once the head tube is inserted, ti hten with the correspondin
expander and top cover. Finally, alternately tighten the screws to a maximum o
3,5 Nm.

-Installing the MTB handlebar in the Stem:
Remove the stem closure elements to allow the frontal cap to open. Apply a thin
layer of the mountin paste in the stem and handlebar.
Sli htly open the front part of the stem with a soft material wed e like a wood
clothespin. Insert the handlebar. Reinstall the closure elements and tighten the
screws alternately to a maximum o 3,5 Nm.

Apply a thin layer of the mountin
paste in the stem and handlebar.
Remove the Stem closure elements
to allow the frontal cap to open. With
help of one or two wood/plastic
wed e like a clothespin, open the
Stem cover to a maximum of 8mm,
insert an 8mm Allen key in the center
so that is stays in that position.
Follow the handlebar curves with the Stem until be in centered position and
remove the Allen key. Reinstall the closure elements and tighten the screws
alternately to a maximum o 3,5 Nm.
- Recommendations or use:
Althou h Darimo Stem is safe and and exceeds the standard tests, it is not
recommended for people overwei hin 90 k .
If you need a reinforced Stem, ask us for it and we will manufacture it with
pleasure. The stem is not suitable for downhill use.
We recommend checkin re ularly the stem bolts torque and Stem status. If you
notice any stran e thin , please notify us.
Not exceed the torque limits recommended: If you exceed the torque limits the
Stem Will be dama e and will compromise the stem safety and it will not be
covered by warranty.
-Warranty:
Darimo products are safe and exceed the requirements of the EN ISO 4210. They
are warranted a ainst defects of materials or workmanship for two years from the
acquisition date. It is necessary to maintain and submit the invoice acquisition. In
case of any problem, contact the store or the dealer where it was purchased or
contact us directly. The warranty does not cover dama es due to improper
installation, wear, misuse, excessive torque, falls and shocks. Whenever there is a
failure either outside the warranty period or for a cause not covered by it, contact
us. We have advanta eous replacement option and we always try to ive our best.
