1. Important Document Information
Note:
This document has been particularly created to guide the installer through the
very first steps of installation of the proxSafe maxx. It is not suitable for
answering questions about any changes in the standard installation
procedure, such as concerning operation without the proxSafe Terminal,
operation within an Ethernet network or the operation of the proxSafe
Terminal itself.
For further information, especially about the commissioning of the proxSafe
Terminal we kindly ask you to refer to the following documents, which you
will also find on the supplied CD:
● „proxSafe maxx Wiring & Installation Instructions“
● „proxSafe Terminal Operating Instructions“
● „proxSafe Terminal Quick Start Guide“
2. Important Safety Note
For safety reasons all works described in the next steps have to be carried out
without connection to the power supply! Do not connect the proxSafe maxx to the
external power supply, until requested!

3. Open Cabinet
For the further steps of installation you need to open the proxSafe cabinet.
1. 2.
You find the key for opening the cabinet
attached to the cabinet.
Slide down the key covering and open the lock.

Carefully move the cabinet insert towards
you. If it is blocked, push the insert into the
frame before opening it.
Be careful not to tear any cables!
4.
Unplug the connection cable between the
cabinet insert and the backplane PCB.

5.
Unhook the red safety-wire.
7.
Turn the ratched wheel on the right side
clockwise while pushing up the roller
shutter to open the cabinet insert.
6.
Now you can fully remove the cabinet insert.
8.
You can now remove the packages with the
accessories:
– 32 keyTags
– 32 keyRings
– 50 pairs of one-time seals
– 1 cabinet connection cable
(for connection of power supply unit
to backplane PCB)
– 1 RJ45 cable
(600 mm; for connection of further
proxSafe devices)

4. Mount Terminal to Cabinet
The Terminal is prepared for right-side mounting. For left-side mounting, please refer to
the „proxSafe maxx Wiring & Installation Instructions“ on the supplied installation CD.
1.
Take the proxSafe Terminal out of the
package. The two connection cables should
be guided through the hole in the back of
the Terminal bracket.
Now position the Terminal bracket behind
the cabinet frame.
2.
Fix the Terminal with the two enclosed
screws to the cabinet frame from the
inside.
3.
Plug the two cables into the backplane PCB:
Cable “Slave” -> Plug “Slave Terminal”
Cable “Master” -> Plug “Master Terminal”

5. Connect Power Supply and Back-up Battery
Your proxSafe system needs a supply voltage of 13.8V in order to charge the battery
during operation. For operation without back-up battery, you can supply your system with
12V DC. Connect the power supply using the supplied cable.
1.
Connect the power supply (13.8V DC) to
the backplane “Power In”.
2.
Connect the battery connection cable to the
backplane “Accu”.

6. Mount Cabinet to Wall
For a first adjustment of the cabinet to the wall, please use the provided wall hooks (see
drawing). Mount them to the wall and hook in the cabinet. For the final wall assembly the
prefabricated boreholes are to be used. There are six (6) holes of 8 mm diameter for fixing
the proxSafe cabinet to the wall.
Note:
In order to keep some tolerance for adjustment of the cabinet at the wall, we
recommend screws with 6mm diameter.

7. Close Cabinet
These are the final steps before you can operate your new cabinet.
1.
Remove the safety tape from the two tamper
switches on the back of the cabinet insert.
3.
Re-attach the red safety-wire.
5.
While closing the cabinet, make sure that
the locking spring on the right side glides
back into the frame!
2.
Position the cabinet insert as shown above.
4.
Plug in the cable from the cabinet insert into
the backplane PCB -->“Local MUX”.
6.
Tightly push in the lock and remove the key.

proxSafe maxx erstellt. Es ist nicht geeignet Fragen zu beantworten, die durch
Abweichungen von der Standardinstallation entstehen, wie z. B. dem Betrieb ohne
proxSafe Terminal oder ohne Ethernet-Netzwerk oder Fragen zur Bedienung des
proxSafe Terminals selbst.
Für weitere Informationen, insbesondere zur Inbetriebnahme des proxSafe
Terminals sei an dieser Stelle auf die folgenden Dokumente verwiesen, die Sie
ebenfalls auf der mitgelieferten CD finden:

2. Wichtiger Sicherheitshinweis
Aus Sicherheitsgründen werden alle weiteren Arbeitsschritte ohne Anschluss des
externen proxSafe maxx Netzteils an die Stromversorgung durchgeführt. Schließen
Sie das externe proxSafe maxx Netzteil erst an, wenn Sie dazu aufgefordert
werden!

3. Kabinett öffnen
Für alle weiteren Installationsschritte muss das proxSafe-Kabinett geöffnet werden.
1. 2.
Der Schlüssel zum Öffnen des Kabinetts
befindet sich am Kabinett selbst.
3.
Schieben Sie die Schlüsselabdeckung herunter
und öffnen Sie das Schloss.
4.
Ziehen Sie den Kabinett-Einsatz vorsichtig zu
sich heraus. Sollte dieser klemmen, drücken
Sie den Einsatz noch einmal in den Rahmen
zurück, bevor Sie ihn erneut öffnen.
Achten Sie darauf, keines der Kabel
herauszureißen!
Ziehen Sie das Verbindungskabel zwischen
dem Kabinett-Einsatz und der
Verteilerplatine (Backplane PCB) heraus.

5. 6.
Haken Sie die rote Sicherheitsschnur aus.
7.
Drehen Sie das Klinkenrad an der rechten
Seite im Uhrzeigersinn und schieben Sie
gleichzeitig den Rollverschluss nach oben,
um den Kabinetteinsatz zu öffnen.
Entnehmen Sie den Kabinetteinsatz
vollständig.
8.
Nun können Sie die Verpackung mit den
Zubehörteilen entnehmen:
– 32 elektronische Schlüsselanhänger
– 32 Schlüsselringe
– 50 Paar Einmalsiegel
– 1 Kabinett-Verbindungskabel
(zum Anschließen des Netzteiles an
die Backplane PCB)
– 1 RJ45 Kabel
(600 mm; zum Anschließen weiterer
proxSafe Geräte)

4. Montage des Terminals am Kabinett
Das Terminal ist für die rechtsseitige Montage am Kabinett vorbereitet. Für eine linksseitige
Montage sei auf die ausführliche “proxSafe maxx Anschluss- und Installationsanweisung”
auf der Installations-CD verwiesen.
1.
Nehmen Sie das proxSafe Terminal aus der
Packung heraus. Die Anschlusskabel sollten
durch die Öffnung auf der Rückseite der
Terminalhalterung geführt sein.
Positionieren Sie nun die Terminalhalterung
auf geeigneter Höhe von hinten an der
Rückwand des Kabinetts.
2.
Befestigen Sie das Terminal mit den beiden
mitgelieferten Schrauben von innen am
Rahmen des Kabinetts.
3.
Stecken Sie die beiden Kabel vom Terminal
wie folgt auf der backplane PCB ein:
Kabel “Slave” -> in “Slave Terminal”
Kabel “Master” -> in “Master Terminal”

5. Anschließen von Netzkabel und Notstromakku
Der proxSafe benötigt eine Stromversorgungsspannung von 13,8V um den Notstrom-Akku
auch während des Betriebes aufladen zu können. Wird auf die Nutzung des Akkus
verzichtet, kommt das System auch mit 12V Gleichspannung aus.
1.
Schließen Sie das Netzkabel (13,8V Gleich-
spannung) auf der Platine bei “Power In” an.
2.
Schließen Sie das Batterieverbindungskabel
auf der Platine bei “Accu” an.

6. Wandmontage des Kabinetts
Zur ersten Fixierung des Kabinetts an der Wand sind die mitgelieferten Wandhaken zu
benutzen (siehe Zeichnung). Montieren Sie die Wandhaken an der Wand und hängen Sie
das Kabinett ein. Zur abschließenden Fixierung sind die vorgesehen Befestigungslöcher zu
benutzen. Es sind insgesamt sechs (6) Löcher von je 8 mm Durchmesser für die
Wandmontage vorgesehen (siehe Zeichnung).
Hinweis:
Um den notwendigen Spielraum bei der Wandmontage des Kabinetts zu behalten, ist es
hilfreich, Schrauben mit nur 6 mm Durchmesser zu verwenden.

7. Kabinett schließen
Dies sind die letzten Schritte, bevor Sie das neue Kabinett in Betrieb nehmen können:
1.
Entfernen Sie das Sicherheitsetikett von den
Alarmschaltern auf der Rückseite des
Kabinetteinsatzes.
2.
Positionieren Sie den Kabinetteinsatz im
Kabinettrahmen wie oben gezeigt.
3.
Haken Sie die rote Sicherheitsschnur wieder ein.
4.
Stecken Sie das entsprechende
Verbindungskabel der Kabinetteinsatzes auf
der backplane PCB in „Local MUX“.

5.
Achten Sie darauf, das die
Verschlussfeder auf der rechten Seite
wieder mit in den Rahmen zurück
gleitet!
6.
Schlüssel fest auf das Zylinderschloss
drücken und nach rechts drehen. Jetzt kann
der Schlüssel herausgezogen werden.
