. SERVICE LIFE
The theoretically possible total lifetime (proper
storagepriortorstremoval+use)islimitedto
10 years from the date of manufacture.
The theoretically possible period of use is up
7yearsfromthetimewhentheproductisrst
removed from the undamaged package.
Guidelines for the lifetime: Unused and stored in
optimum conditions: up to 10 years
Used rarely (1x or 2x per year): up to 7 years
Used occasionally (1x per month): up to 5 years
Used regularly (1x per week): up to 1 year
Used constantly (almost every day): up to ½ year
The product must be retired no later than after 7
years of use. It is assumed that the product will
be removed from its package upon purchase. We
recommend keeping the sales receipt.
Actual useful life depends solely on the condition
oftheproductwhichisinuencedbyvariousfac-
tors (see below). The lifespan could be as short

Bleachedorrubbedbres/beltstraps,discol-
ouring and hardening are a sure sign that the
product should be withdrawn from use.
Checkingtheequipmentatregularintervalsis
absolutely necessary: your safety depends on the
eectivenessanddurabilityoftheequipment!
This inspection must comprise:
• Inspection of the general condition: age, com-
pleteness, dirt, correct composition.
• Inspection of the labels: Present? Legible? CE
marking present? Year of production visible?
• Inspection of the individual parts for mechanical
damage such as cuts, cracks, notches, abra-
sion,deformation,ribbing,curling,squashing.
• Inspection of all individual parts for damage
caused by heat or chemicals, such as fusion or
hardening.
• Inspection of the metal parts for corrosion and
deformation.
• Inspection of the completeness of the end
connections, stitching (e.g. no abrasion of sew-
ing thread) seams, splices, (e.g. no slippage),
knots.
We expressly refrain from making any general state-
ments about the useful life of the product, since it
depends on a variety of factors such as UV light, the
typeandfrequencyofuse,treatment,theeects
of weathering such as snow, the environment such
as salt, sand, battery acid, and many more factors.
In general, the following rule applies: If the user,
forwhateverreason–howeverinsignicantit
may seem – is uncertain whether or not the prod-
uct meets all the necessary criteria, either reject
it from service and render unusable, or place in
quarantineandlabelinanobviousmannerso
that it cannot be used by mistake. Only return to
service following the written authorisation of a
competent person.
The product must be replaced without fail after
a fall!
