1 Connect the power adapter and press the power button.
2 When your computer is switched on for the first time, you will be prompted to
complete these steps:
a Enable security and Dell updates.
b Connect to a wireless network.

1Power and battery‑status light
Indicates the power state and battery state of the computer.
White — Power adapter is connected and the battery is being charged.
Amber — Battery charge is low or critical.
2Hard-drive activity light
Turns on when the computer reads from or writes to the hard drive.

1Security-cable slot
Connect a security cable to prevent unauthorized movement of your
computer.
2Power-adapter port
Connect a power adapter to provide power to your computer and charge the
battery.
3USB 2.0 port
Connect peripherals such as storage devices, printers, and so on. Provides data
transfer speeds up to 480 Mbps.
4Media-card reader
Reads from and writes to media cards.

Connect a headphone, a microphone, or a headphone and microphone
combo (headset).

Connect peripherals such as storage devices, printers, and so on. Provide data

Connect a TV or another HDMI‑in enabled device. Provides video and audio
output.

Connect an Ethernet (RJ45) cable from a router or a broadband modem for
network or internet access.

Press to turn on the computer if it is turned off or in sleep state.
Press to put the computer in sleep state if it is turned on.
Press and hold for 10 seconds to force shut‑down the computer.
NOTE: You can customize the power‑button behavior in Power Options.
