3. Dell Printer Configuration Web Tool
U the Dell Printer Configuration Web Tool
One of the fea the Dell Printer Configuration Web Tool s the E-Mail Alert Setup, which
sends you or the key operator a en the multifunction printer needs supplies or intervention.
To fill out printer inventory reports re he asset tag number of all of the multifunction printer
in your area he Printer Information feature in the Dell Prin guration Web Tool. Just type
the IP address of each p he network to display the asset tag number.

e Dell Printer Configuration Web Tool re also lets you change printer settings and keep
track of print If you are a network administrator, you can easily copy the printe ings to one
or all printers on the network using your Web browser.
To launch t Dell Printer Configuration Web Tool, typ etwork printer's IP address in your
Web browser.
If you do not know what your pri P address is, print a printer settings page, which lists the
IP addr

Printer Settings
Use the Printer Settings menu to change printer setti view the operator panel remotely.
Server Settings
Using the rver Settings menu, you can change the type of printer i necessary conditions for
communications.
Copy Printer Settings
Copy Printer Settings menu to copy t er's settings to another printer or printers on the
network just by ach printer's IP address.

Address Book menu to organize E-M Server Address and Phone Book.

Use the Printer Information nu to get the information you need for service calls, inventory

Tray Settings
Use the Tray Settings menu to g information about the paper type and size for each tray.
E-Mail Alert
Use the E-Mail Alert menu to receive an e-mail when the multifu er needs supplies or
intervention. Type your name or the key oper in the e-mail list box to be notified.
Set Password
Use the Set Password menu to lo perator panel with a password so that other users don't
inadvertentl the printer settings you selected.

Using the Dell Printer Configurat Tool
Be sure to activate Jav in your browser before using the Dell Printer Configuration Web To
Environment Settings for Web Bro
Dell recommends configuring the enviro tings for your Web browsers, before using the ell
Printer Configur Web Tool.
NOTE: The Dell Prin Configuration Web Tool pages may be displayed dable if you

Setting Up the Display Language
1. Select Prefe from the Edit menu.
2. Select Language in the General b.
3. Specify the display language in order o nce in the Language in order of
preference list.

Setting the Printer' ress to Non-proxy
1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.

2. Sel y server under LAN Settings in the Connections tab.
3. Do either of the following:
Clear the Use a proxy sever for your LAN check box.
Click Advanced, and then specify the printer's IP in the Do not use proxy
server for addresse ng with field under Exceptions
When you have finished setting the language and proxy, type <http://nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn/>
(t ter's IP address) in the URL entry field of the browser to activate Dell Printer
Configuration Web Tool.

Setting the Printer's IP Address to
1. Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
2. In the Navigator group, select Proxies in the Advanced tab.
3. Select either Direct connection to the Internet or anual proxy configuration.
When you select Manual prox ration, specify the printer's IP address in the No
Proxy for: box.
When you have finished e language and proxy, type <http:.nnn.nnn/> (the printer's IP
address) in the URL entr of the browser to activate the Dell Printer Coon Web Tool.

Refresh Button
Receives the current pri figuration and updates the latest information
in the Right Frame.
Apply New
Settings Button
Submits new settings made on the Dell Printer Configuration Web
Tool to the multifunction printer. The old printer settings will be by the
new settings.
Restart printer to

mult printer and reboots the multifunction printer. The old printer sett
be replaced by the new settings.

Changing the Settings of Menu Items
So allow you to change the printer settings through the Dell Printer Configuration Web
Tool. When you are acces se menus, the authentication dialog appears on the screen. Type
a use and password for the printer's administrator by following the prompt ed in the dialog
box.
The default user name is admin, and the default password is left blank (NULL). Y nge only
the password in the Set Password page in the Print Server Settings men er name cannot
be changed. See "Set (See 3.)" for more information.

Printer Status
Use the Printer Status menu to check the status umables, hardware, and specifications of
the mion printer.
The following pages are displayed in the Pri tus menu.
Printer Status
Purpose:
To check the status o ing consumables and trays.

Printer Events
Purpose:
When printer faults occu as running out of paper or running out of print cartridge, the details
of all ale ndications of faults are displayed in the Print s page.

Purpose:
To verify the printer details su are configuration and software version. This page can also be
