Installing the Optional Diskette Drive
CAUTION: See your System Information Guide for complete information about safety precautions,

If applicable, remove the bezel.
a If applicable, unlock the bezel.
b While grasping the bezel, slide it toward the key lock.
c Rotate the right side of the bezel away from the front panel.
d Pull the bezel away from the system.
2 Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical
outlet.
3 To remove the system cover, loosen the two captive screws at the back of the system.
4 While pressing down on the cover indention, slide the cover backward about an inch,
and grasp the cover on both sides.
5 Carefully lift the cover away from the system.
6 Align the diskette drive's mounting holes with the retaining pins on the hard drive 1 bracket.
See Figure 1-1.
7 Rotate the drive downward until it snaps into place.
8 Connect the interface cable.
NOTE: Ensure that the interface cable is properly inserted into the connectors of the control panel
and diskette drive. Visually check the cable connection by ensuring that the cable contacts are
even across the length of the connector.

Connect the end of the interface cable labeled FD to the diskette drive.
b Connect the other end of the interface cable to the control panel FDD cable connector.

9 Place the cover over the sides of the chassis, and slide the cover forward until it snaps
into place.
10 Tighten the two captive screws at the back of the system to secure the cover.

Reconnect the system to the electrical outlet, and turn on the system.
12 If applicable, replace the bezel.
a Align the hole in the left-side bezel securing tab with the tab on the front panel.
b While rotating the bezel toward the front panel, slide the bezel toward the key lock
until the bezel snaps into place.

Installation du lecteur de disquette en option

Retirez le cache, le cas échéant.
a Déverrouillez le cache, si nécessaire.
b Saisissez le cache et faites-le glisser vers le verrou.
c Faites pivoter le côté droit du cache pour l'écarter du panneau avant.
d Dégagez le cache du système.
2 Mettez le système hors tension, y compris les périphériques qui lui sont connectés,
puis débranchez-le du secteur.
3 Pour retirer le capot du système, dévissez les deux vis captives à l'arrière du système.
4 Appuyez vers le bas sur l’indentation du capot, faites-le glisser vers l’arrière d’environ
deux centimètres, et prenez-le par les deux côtés.
5 Dégagez avec précaution le capot du système.
6 Alignez les trous du lecteur de disquette avec les plots de retenue du support du disque dur 1.

7 Faites pivoter le disque vers le bas jusqu’à ce qu’il s’enclenche en place.
8 Branchez le câble d’interface.
REMARQUE : assurez-vous que le câble d'interface est fermement inséré dans le connecteur du
lecteur de disquette et celui du panneau de contrôle. Pour cela, vérifiez que le connecteur du câble
est inséré à fond, sur toute sa largeur, et n’est pas écarté d’un côté ou de l’autre.
a
Branchez l’extrémité du câble d'interface (repérée par la mention FD) au connecteur
du lecteur de disquette.
b Branchez l'autre extrémité du câble d’interface au connecteur du panneau de contrôle
repéré par la mention FDD.

9 Placez le capot au-dessus du châssis et faites-le coulisser vers l'avant jusqu'à ce qu'il
s'enclenche.
10 Pour refixer le capot du système, revissez les deux vis captives à l'arrière du système.

Rebranchez le système à sa source d'alimentation électrique, puis mettez-le sous tension.
12 Remettez le cache en place, le cas échéant.
a Alignez le trou de la languette gauche de fixation du cache avec la languette sur le
panneau avant.
b Tout en faisant pivoter le cache vers le panneau avant, faites-le glisser vers le verrou
jusqu’à ce qu’il s’enclenche en place.

Entfernen Sie gegebenenfalls die Blende.
a Schließen Sie die Blende gegebenenfalls auf.
b Halten Sie die Blende fest, und schieben Sie sie in Richtung Schlüsselverriegelung.
c Drehen Sie die rechte Seite der Blende von der Frontblende weg.
d Ziehen Sie die Blende vom System weg.
2 Schalten Sie das System sowie die angeschlossenen Peripheriegeräte aus, und unterbrechen
Sie die Stromzufuhr.
3 Lösen Sie die selbstsichernden Schrauben an der Rückseite des Systems, um die System-
abdeckung zu entfernen.
4 Drücken Sie die Vertiefungen in der Abdeckung herunter, schieben Sie gleichzeitig die
Abdeckung etwa 2,5 cm nach hinten, und halten Sie die Abdeckung an beiden Seiten fest.
5 Heben Sie die Abdeckung vorsichtig von dem System ab.
6 Richten Sie die Montagelöcher des Diskettenlaufwerks an den Sicherungsstiften
der Halterung von Festplatte 1 aus. Siehe Abbildung 1-1.
7 Drehen Sie das Laufwerk nach unten, bis es einrastet.
8 Schließen Sie das Schnittstellenkabel an.
HINWEIS: Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Schnittstellenkabel ordnungsgemäß mit den Anschlüssen
der Systemsteuerung und des Diskettenlaufwerks verbunden ist. Überprüfen Sie die Kabel-
verbindung, indem Sie sicherstellen, dass die Kabelkontakte korrekt an dem Anschluss
festgesteckt sind.
a
Schließen Sie das Ende des Schnittstellenkabels mit der Bezeichnung FD
an das Diskettenlaufwerk an.
b Verbinden Sie das andere Ende des Schnittstellenkabels mit FDD-Anschluss
der Systemsteuerung.

9 Positionieren Sie die Abdeckung über den Seiten des Gehäuses, und schieben Sie
die Abdeckung nach vorne, bis sie einrastet.
10 Ziehen Sie die beiden selbstsichernden Schrauben an der Rückseite des Systems wieder an,
um die Abdeckung zu befestigen.

Schließen Sie das System wieder an die Stromversorgung an, und schalten Sie es ein.
12 Bringen Sie gegebenenfalls die Blende wieder an.
a Richten Sie das Loch in der linken Sicherungslasche der Blende an der Sicherungslasche
der Frontblende aus.
b Drehen Sie die Blende in Richtung Frontblende, und schieben Sie sie gleichzeitig
in Richtung Schlüsselverriegelung, bis sie einrastet.

c ベゼルの右側を正面パネルと反対の方向へ動かします。
d ベゼルを引っ張り、システムから取り外します。
2 システムの電源を切り、システムに接続されている周辺機器の電源を切って、
システムを電源コンセントから外します。
3 システムカバーを取り外すには、システムの後部にある 2 本のネジを緩めます。
4 カバーのへこみを下に押しながら、カバーを約 3 センチほど後方へスライドさせ、
カバーの両端をつかみます。
5 カバーをシステムから持ち上げて、慎重に取り外します。
6 ディスケットドライブの取り付け穴をハードドライブ 1 のブラケットの保持ピンと合
わせます。
図 1-1 を参照してください。
7 所定の位置に収まるまで、ドライブを下ろします。
8 インタフェースケーブルを接続します。
メモ：インタフェースケーブルがコントロールパネルとディスケットドライブのコネク
タに正しく接続していることを確認します。ケーブルがコネクタの全長にわたって均一
に接続していることを目視により確認します。

FD というラベルのあるインタフェースケーブルのコネクタをディスケットドライ
ブに接続します。
b インタフェースケーブルのもう一方のコネクタを、コントロールパネル FDD ケー
ブルコネクタに接続します。

Si es necesario, extraiga el embellecedor.

8 Conecte el cable de interfaz.

del panel de control y de la unidad de disquete. Compruebe la conexión del cable asegurándose
de que los contactos del cable están nivelados a lo largo del conector.
