1.1. Unpacking the Server
Important Before unpacking the server inspect the server packaging
for damage.
W020 WARNING
W020:
The server drawer must not be unpacked before it has reached the
room temperature (24 hours in the computer room).
According to the server configuration, the following items are included:
•Compute Box fully populated
•Empty Ubox(es)
•UBox components
•8-module connecting box
•Rack-mounting kits
•Screws and washers

1.2.1. Identifying the Server Model
The server model is provided on the safety label on the side of the server.

1.2.2. Identifying Server Modules
Server modules are identified by an identification label.
The label gives the MAC address of the BMC embedded management controller.

The label is located inside a little drawer.

Safety warning labels, including safety notices and graphic symbols, are visible
on the server. Check that the electrical installation in place complies with the
label details.
1.3.1. Server Module Labels
Server Identification Label
The label is located on the side of the server.
Mark Description
ACertification information
BRecycling symbol: it is mandatory to reuse and recycle
electronic and electrical equipment properly
CElectric hazard symbol: Caution! Risk of electric shock
DMultiple power sources symbol: Caution! The system has
more than one power source which must all be disconnected
before servicing to avoid shock hazard
EProtectivE conductor symbol: Caution! The system has a high
protective conductor current. The protective conductor (PE)
should be connected first to main protective earthing
terminal before connecting the line and neutral to avoid
shock hazard, and a PE connection to the main PE terminal is
essential before connecting the mains to avoid electric shock
FAltitude symbol: the system must not be operated at an
altitude higher than 2000 meters
GTropicalization symbol: the system must be operated within
the adequate limits of temperature and humidity

supply cords from the unit before servicing.
Proceed as follows:
1. Power OFF the system
2. Switch OFF the site power breakers
3. Remove all power supply cords from the system

Identification label for the UBox
The label is located on the side of the server.
Mark Description
ARecycling symbol: it is mandatory to reuse and recycle

UBox Onboard Battery Label

The onboard battery should be replaced regularly. It must be replaced
with the same or an equivalent type recommended by the
manufacturer. There is a danger of explosion if another type is used.
Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer's instructions
UBox Power Supply Unit (PSU) Label
The label is located at the rear of the UBox.

2.1. Installing a S5408 Server

The server weighs 160 kg when fully populated.
Important The server is delivered fully populated. It is mandatory to
use a lifting device to install it.
However, it is possible to reduce the server weight by
removing the components from the compute box.

Procedure
1. Prepare the rails
1. Loosen the screws of each rail.
