Adjusting the iron thermostat (N)
Turn the thermostat dial to set the most suitable temperature
for the type of fabric to be ironed.
For steam ironing, the temperature must
be within the steam sector shown
alongside.
Below is a brief guide to help you choose the best temperatu-
re for the type of fabric to be ironed.
lAcetate, acrylic, nylon, polyester, rayon
l l Silk, wool
l l l Linen, cotton
Steam regulator
The steam regulator dial G enables the quantity of steam to
be increased or decreased according to the fabric being iro-
ned.
1. Ideal for garments requiring little steam.
2. Ideal for good quality ironing with maximum energy
and water savings.
3. Ideal for top quality ironing with energy and water sa-
vings.
4. Ideal for dicult-to-iron garments or creases.
When you turn the iron on, you are recommended to turn the
steam regulator dial to the maximum steam position.
Topping up the water in the reservoir
When the water runs out, the light comes on.
When the light comes on, you must top up the water in the
reservoir as rapidly as possible, following the procedure for
lling the reservoir.
This enables you to continue ironing without interruption.
If you delay topping up the water and the steam generator
cools down, the system no longer emits steam and when the
reservoir is lled again, the appliance functions as though
turned on for the rst time.
In other words, 5 minutes will elapse before the steam is rea-
dy and during those 5 minutes you will hear the pump ll 4 or
5 times for about 30 seconds.
After this period of stabilisation, the steam generator will
start working normally, periodically lling with water.
When the “no water” light comes on, you should not
continue steam ironing with the pump vibrating.
If this practice is continued, in the long run it could
irreparably damage internal components.
When the water in the reservoir has run out, the pump be-
comes noisier.
This is part of normal operation and is not a cause for concern.
However, as described above, you should immediately top up
the water in the reservoir.
Dry ironing
To dry iron, turn the thermostat dial on the iron to select the
temperature most suitable for the garments to be ironed,
then iron without pressing the steam button.
Maintenance
Rinsing the steam generator
To optimise operation, maintain constant steam production
over time and save energy, rinse the steam generator with
water after every 10 ironing sessions. Proceed as follows:
• Make sure the appliance is turned o, unplugged from
the mains and completely cold.
• Empty the water reservoir by turning the appliance
upside down over a sink (g. 3).
• Turn the protective cap Bon the side of the appliance
clockwise and remove (g. 4).
• Use a coin or screwdriver to unscrew the steam genera-
tor cap (g. 5).
• Eliminate the water in the steam generator (g. 6);
• Rest the appliance on its side (g. 7) and ll with a ma-
ximum of 0.7 litres of water using a funnel to avoid the
water spilling outside the steam generator.
• Shake the appliance to rinse the entire steam generator,
then throw the water away.
• Repeat the rinse procedure.
• Screw the cap back on, making sure it closes the steam
generator eciently.
• Replace the protective cap B.
Before resuming ironing, discharge steam into the air for
a few seconds to completely eliminate any residues from
the internal circuits.
Cleaning
• The surface of the soleplate must be kept clean. To clean,
just wipe the cold surface with a damp cloth.
• The iron must never be treated with descaling products.
After ironing
After nishing ironing, you should put the ironing system
away with the door tightly closed to avoid dust and foreign
bodies falling into the reservoir and possibly jeopardising
operation of the pump.
