Denon DVD-900 User manual

DVD Player with Progressive Scan
NEW MODEL INFORMATION
DVD-900
DVD Video Player
■24-bit, 192-kHz High Resolution Audio D/A Converters
■Progressive Scan
Progressive Scan technology represents a vast improvement over
the interlaced scanning method used in TV broadcasts and other
conventional applications, as it can process around twice as much
video data to produce a sharper, noise-free picture with finer details.
High-definition video images are faithfully displayed with optimum
naturalness and beauty.
■Highest resolution 10-bit, 54-MHz Video D/A Conversion System
The DVD-900 employs a 10-bit, 54-MHz video D/A converter.
■2 MB Buffer Memory
This unit is equipped with a 2 MB buffer memory to ensure that both
picture and sound are played without interruption when the DVD disc
shifts from layer 1 to layer 2, or in the rare event of a pickup dropout.
■ Picture Zooming (x2 or x4)
During play, when you press the Zoom button on the remote control,
you can enlarge the picture by 2x or 4x. Use the cursor to move the
enlarged viewing area up, down, to the left, or to the right.
■Color Component Video Output
The DVD-900 provides color component video (Y, CB/PB,CR/PR) output
that ensure the best reproduction of fine color detail with today’s high-
end video monitors and large screen projectors that feature component
video inputs. This connection method provides the best video quality
compared to “S”-video and composite video connections.
■Aspect Ratio Function for Correct Image Displays
When you want to view video images with an aspect ratio of 4:3 on a
16:9 Progressive TV monitor, the DVD-900's Aspect Ratio function
converts the images to the correct aspect ratio so that you can enjoy
high-quality Progressive output on your screen. This function also con-
verts 16:9 images for output to 4:3 TV screens.
■Wide Selection of Playback Options
1) Program Play
2) Repeat Play
3) Random Play
■Brilliant Black
DVD-900 can pass below black video via the video outputs for correct
monitor setup and optimum picture quality.
■CD-R/RW (audio/MP3) Playback (*1)
■24/96 PCM Digital Output Capability
■PCM, Dolby Digital and DTS Digital Output
■On-screen Display
A simple press of the Display button on the remote controller lets you
see the current operating status of the DVD-900 within an easy-to-read dis-
play on screen. The various operations and settings are easily changed
using the remote controller while monitoring the screen display.
■ High-class Aluminum Front Panel
The DVD-900’s front panel is made of aluminum to impart an air of elegance
to the unit. This attractive design blends in well with the interior of most
listening rooms.
■Other Versatile Features
• SRS True Surround
• Auto Power OFF
The DVD-900 is designed to bring out the best performance of A/V sources. The DVD-900 converts video signals at the very high resolution of 10-bits and 54-MHz.
