1EINLEITUNG
Vielen Dank, dass du dich für den Kauf eines deuter Airbag-
Rucksacks entschieden hast. Der Rucksack ist mit dem
ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG-System ausgestattet.
In diesem Benutzerhandbuch findest Du Informationen über
die Funktionsweise und die ordnungsgemäße Anwendung des
Rucksacks und des ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG-Systems.
Bitte lese dieses Benutzerhandbuch vor der Anwendung des
Systems sorgfältig durch. Alle Informationen im Benutzerhand-
buch müssen streng eingehalten werden. Jedoch sollten ins-
besondere die Warnhinweise beachtet werden. Um bei Bedarf
schnell in diesem Benutzerhandbuch nachschlagen zu können,
sollte es griffbereit aufbewahrt werden.
Jede Lawine stellt unabhängig von der Ausrüstung eine ab-
solute Lebensgefahr dar. Deshalb sollte der Airbag-Rucksack
Dich nicht dazu anregen, größere Risiken einzugehen. Der Air-
bag-Rucksack mit dem ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG-System ist Teil der
Sicherheits- und Notfallausrüstung. Unter bestimmten Umstän-
den kann er bei einer Aktivierung eine Ganzverschüttung ver-
hindern. Das Auslösen einer Lawine verhindert er jedoch nicht.
Es besteht also weiterhin ein lebensgefährliches Risiko, selbst
wenn der Anwender nicht verschüttet wird.
Das Airbag-System basiert auf dem Prinzip der physikalischen
Verdrängung (1), bei dem in fließende Schneemassen großvo-
lumige Körper an die Oberfläche schwemmen. Bei einem Lawi-
nenabgang muss der Benutzer am Auslösegriff ziehen, um das
System auszulösen: So wird der 162-Liter-Lawinen-Airbag in-
nerhalb von 3 Sekunden aufgeblasen.
Der aufgeblasene Airbag vergrößert das Volumen des Verun-
glückten und verstärkt somit eindeutig diesen Effekt. Der Lawi-
nenrucksack kann Schutz vor einer Ganzverschüttung bieten.
Die Form des Airbags schützt zudem Rücken und Kopf des An-
wenders. Außerdem sorgt die abgerundete Form für optimalen
Auftrieb auf der Lawine und die auffällige Farbe hilft bei einer
raschen Ortung des Verunglückten.

ANWENDUNGSHINWEISE
•Jede Sicherheitsausrüstung hat ihre Grenzen. Lies und
befolge bitte alle Instruktionen sorgfältig.
•Die beabsichtigte und bestimmungsmäßige Verwendung
dieser persönlichen Schutzausrüstung (PSA) ist: Skifahren,
Snowboarden, Ski- und Splitboard-Tourengehen, Schnee-
schuhwandern, Winterbergsteigen, Schneemobil fahren.
SIE DARF NICHT IM WASSER VERWENDET WERDEN.
•Das Airbag-System muss sorgfältig angewendet und vor
jedem Einsatz eingehend untersucht werden.
•Das System nicht in Wasser tauchen.
•Lawinen sind immer lebensbedrohlich, unabhängig von der
verwendeten Ausrüstung.
•Ein Anwender sollte kein größeres Risiko eingehen, selbst
wenn er über ein Airbag-System verfügt.
•Der Einsatz eines Lawinenrucksacks ist keine Garantie für
einen Schutz vor einer Ganzverschüttung.
•Der Airbag-Rucksack ist kein Ersatz für eine herkömmliche
Lawinensicherheitsausrüstung: Sende- und Empfangsgerä-
te, Schaufeln und Lawinensonden müssen bei Touren
abseits der Pisten immer mitgeführt werden.
•Bitte achte beim Verpacken des Airbags darauf, dass der
Airbag, das Kompressorsystem und sein Stoffüberzug nicht
zerreißen oder beschädigt werden. Es muss zudem sicherge-
stellt werden, dass sich der Airbag ungehindert öffnen kann.
•Den Airbag gemäß den Anweisungen falten. Das unsachge-
mäße Zusammenfalten verhindert das Öffnen des Airbags,
kann zu einer Fehlfunktion führen und den Lawinenruck-
sack beschädigen.
• Verwende das ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG-System ausschließlich
mit dem original Airbag-Rucksack und nicht mit Transport-
systemen (Rucksäcke, Westen, usw.), die nicht dafür vor-
gesehen sind.
• Installiere das E2 AIRBAG-System, bevor du dich in ein
Risikogebiet begibst!
• Weiche Gegenstände wie eine gefüllte Trinkblase müssen
an der Rückwand verstaut werden.
• Sämtliche Gurte und Steckschließen müssen beim Gebrauch
fest geschlossen sein.
• Ein zu schwer beladener Rucksack kann sich negativ auf die
Ausübung des Sports auswirken. Mit einem leichten Ruck-
sack bewegst du dich sicherer und hast mehr Spaß bei Deiner
Anwendung.

• Gefahren können am besten vermieden werden, indem
keine gefährlichen Situationen eingegangen werden.
• Bitte achte darauf, dass Du beim Auslösen des Airbags
keine anderen Menschen in Gefahr bringst.
• Um ein ungewolltes oder versehentliches Auslösen zu ver-
meiden, bei dem gegebenenfalls andere Menschen verletzt
werden könnten, sollte der Auslösegriff in der Schulter-
gurttasche mit dem Reißverschluss verstaut, und das Air-
bag-System deaktiviert werden. Insbesondere gilt dies in
Sesselliften, Kabinen, Hubschrauber bzw. in dessen Umge-
bung, in Bussen, Zügen, Autos, usw.
• Zum Start der Tour öffne die Auslösegriff-Abdeckung mit
dem Reißverschluss und mach diesen Griff auslöse bereit.
Folgende Dinge können die Schutzfunktion
beeinträchtigen:
• Der Rucksack sitzt nicht mittig, zu hoch oder zu tief auf
dem Rücken.
• Schulter-, Brust- und/ oder Hüftgurt sind nicht geschlos-
sen oder nicht fest angezogen.
• Das Mitführen von spitzen und scharfen Gegenständen,
wie z. B.: Schraubenzieher, Werkzeug und anderen
harten Gegenständen. Diese sollten angemessen
geschützt (z. B. Spitzenschoner für Schraubenzieher,
Tasche für Werkzeug) und vom Körper weg zeigend
verpackt werden. Es muss sichergestellt sein, dass
sie in einem Notfall den Airbag und den Kompressor nicht
beschädigen können.
• Glasflaschen, explosionsgefährdete Gegenstände
(Druckbehälter, Gaskartuschen etc.), leicht entzündliche
und ätzende Flüssigkeiten sind Dinge, die sich negativ auf
die Schutzwirkung auswirken können.
• Eine mechanische Veränderung oder Verunreinigung des
Airbag Systems kann seine Schutzfunktion beeinträchtigen.
• Das ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG-System muss immer sauber sein.
Sollte das Kompressor-System verschmutzt sein, kann die
einwandfreie Funktion des Airbag-Systems nicht garantiert
werden.
•Das ALPRIDE E2 Airbag-System hat im ein- und ausge-
schalteten Zustand keinen Einfluss auf Lawinenverschütte-
tensuchgeräte. Beim Aufblasen jedoch kann es zu Störun-
gen bei LVS-Geräten kommen. LVS-Geräte (Beacons) sind
sehr empfindlich gegen elektrische und magnetische Stö-
rungen. Um jegliche Störungen zu minimieren, sollte das
LVS-Gerät vorne am Körper getragen werden, um den Ab-
stand
zwischen dem ALPRIDE E2-Kompressor und dem LVS-Ge-
rät zu vergrößern.
•Dieses Produkt ist für Kinder ab frühestens 12 Jahren und
für Personen mit einer Mindestkörpergröße von 145 cm
geeignet. Die Anwender sollten keine verminderten körper-
lichen, sensoriellen oder geistigen Einschränkungen haben.
•Jeder Nutzer muss über gute Kenntnisse in der Einschät-
zung von Lawinengefahren verfügen.
•Das Produkt ist kein Kinderspielzeug und darf nicht in die
Hände von Kleinkindern gelangen.
•Reinigung und Wartung sollten von Kindern und Jugendli-
chen nicht unbeaufsichtigt durchgeführt werden.
Die deuter Sport GmbH haftet nicht für Verletzungen im
Zusammenhang mit einer Lawine unter Anwendung des
Airbag-Rucksacks.

SUPERCAP
Superkondensatoren
Das ALPRIDE E2-System ist der erste Lawinen-Airbag, der kei-
ne Lithium-Ionen- oder Lithium-Polymer-Akkus zum Antreiben
des elektrischen Kompressor-Motors verwendet. Das ALPRIDE
E2-System speichert die Energie mittels Superkondensatoren
(D) in Form eines elektrostatischen Feldes. Im Gegensatz zu
herkömmlichen Akkus muss zur Energiegewinnung keine chemi-
sche Reaktion erzeugt werden, sodass das ALPRIDE E2-System
seine Leistung schneller entfaltet. Die Superkondensatoren des
ALPRIDE E2-System bieten mehrere Vorteile gegenüber Akkus.
Sie sind nicht empfindlich gegenüber Temperaturschwankun-
gen und liefern bei -30° C dieselbe Leistung wie bei +50° C. Dies
spart Gewicht, denn im Vergleich zu Akkus müssen die Super-
kondensatoren nicht verstärkt werden, um eine hervorragende
Leistung bei niedrigen Temperaturen zu garantieren. Während
Akkus nach mehrmaligem Laden verschleißen, behalten die
Superkondensatoren ihre Leistung. Sie können 500.000-mal
aufgeladen werden und haben eine fast unbegrenzte Lebens-
dauer. Die Superkondensatoren gelten auch als passive elektro-
nische Elemente, wie beispielsweise Kameras. Deshalb gibt es
keine Einschränkungen bei Reisen, Versand oder Lagerung.
Radialkompressor
Das ALPRIDE E2-System arbeitet mit einem Radialkompressor.
Das Design erzeugt einen schnellen Luftstrom und hohem Luft-
druck, vergleichbar mit einem Druckluft-Lawinen-Airbag-Sys-
temen.
USB-C-Anschluss
Durch den USB-C-Anschluss (5 V–3A) (F) sollten die Superkon-
densatoren über das mitgelieferte USB-C-Kabel (4.3) aufgela-
den werden. Das Aufladen kann mit einem Standard-USB-Lade-
gerät (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten), das auch für Mobiltele-
fone verwendet wird, erfolgen. Die Superkondensatoren sollten
vorrangig mit dem USB-C-Kabel aufgeladen werden, nachrangig
mit den zwei AA-Batterien.
AA-Batterien
Das ALPRIDE E2-System nutzt zwei AA-Batterien:
1. Um eine 100 %-ige Leistung der Superkondensatoren zu
garantieren, den geringen Verlust der Ladekapazität zu kom-
pensieren und um die Laufzeit von einigen Monaten
sicherzustellen (siehe Abschnitt zu Laufzeit).
2. Um die Superkondensatoren aufzuladen
Hinweise: Das E2-System lädt auch im ausgeschalteten Zu-
stand die Supercondensatoren und hält die Ladung automa-
tisch bei 100%. Daher entladen sich die eingelegten Batterien
im Laufe der Zeit. Am besten entfernst Du die Batterien spätes-
tens, wenn kein Balken an dem LCD Display angezeigt wird oder
es blinkt. Auch um auslaufenden Batterien entgegen zu wirken,
sollten die Batterien nicht über einen langen Zeitraum unge-
nutzt eingelegt bleiben.

Nur AA-Batterien aus Alkaline- oder Lithium verwenden (zum
schnellen Aufladen bei sehr niedrigen Temperaturen). Neue Al-
kaline AA-/LR6-Batterien der Premiumqualität verwenden. Keine
AA -Zinkkarbonat-Batterien und NiCd- oder NiMH-Akkus (wieder-
aufladbar) verwenden. Diese besitzen oft nicht genügend Kapa-
zität zum Aufladen der Superkondensatoren. Abhängig von der
Technologie der AA-Batterien können das
Laden und die Laufzeit variieren!
Alkaline-Batterien
• sind i.d.R. ausreichend für ein einmaliges Aufladen, oder
haben bei normalem Gebrauch eine Laufzeit von 3 Monaten
(1,5 Monate bei ständigem Gebrauch).
• es wird empfohlen, die Batterien nach dem einmaligen
Aufladen des Systems (und nach einem Aufblasen) auszu-
tauschen.
Lithiumbatterien
• sind i.d.R. ausreichend für dreimaliges Aufladen, oder haben
bei normalem Gebrauch eine Laufzeit von 5 Monaten (3 Mo-
nate bei ständigem Gebrauch).
• es wird empfohlen, die Batterien nach drei Ladevorgängen
des Systems (und nach einem Aufblasen) auszutauschen.
6EIN/AUS
UND AUTOTEST
Ein-/Ausschalten und Autotest
Zum Einschalten des ALPRIDE E2-Systems den EIN-/AUS-Schal-
ter (G) betätigen. Dieser Sicherheitsschalter verhindert
eine unbeabsichtigte Aktivierung im Rucksack. Den Schal-
ter raus ziehen (6.1),im Uhrzeigersinn drehen (6.2) und für
zwei Sekunden in Einschaltposition halten.
Das ALPRIDE E2-System führt bei jedem Einschalten einen
Autotest durch, um zu prüfen, ob Motor, Superkondensato-
ren und Elektronik einwandfrei funktionieren. Während dieses
Selbsttests leuchten die drei LEDs (H) chronologisch, um die
Funktion der LEDs zu überprüfen.
Gleichzeitig blinkt das LCD-Display (C), um die ordnungsgemä-
ße Funktion der LCD-Anzeige und die Sichtbarkeit aller Pikto-
gramme zu überprüfen.
Bei diesem Autotest führt der Motor eine langsame
erste Umdrehung durch und die grüne LED beginnt
zu leuchten.
Wenn der Autotest erfolgreich war, dreht sich der
Motor ein zweites Mal und die grüne, oder die oran-
gefarbene LED blinkt, je nach Ladestatus.
Das System ist dann betriebsbereit.
Wird beim Autotest eine Fehlfunktion festgestellt,
dreht sich der Motor viermal und die rote LED
leuchtet weiterhin.
Im System wurde ein Fehler festgestellt
und es ist nicht betriebsbereit.
Stellt das System während des Ladevorgangs eine
Störung fest, leuchtet die rote LED weiterhin und
die orangefarbene LED blinkt schnell.
Bei Ausfall des Selbsttests wird das folgende
Piktogramm im LCD-Display angezeigt: (7.4)
Um das System auszuschalten, am Schalter (G) ziehen (6.1)
und im Uhrzeigersinn drehen (6.2) (genauso wie beim Ein-
schalten). Der Motor dreht sich einmal und die rote LED schal-
tet sich ein und aus, um anzuzeigen, dass das System ausge-
schaltet ist.
Hinweis: Die Blinkgeschwindigkeit der LED gibt an, ob sich
das System im Ladestatus befindet (4-mal pro Sekunde) oder
im standardmäßigen ON-Modus (1-mal alle 10 Sekunden).
Verwendung im Gelände und LED-Status (H)
Um das ALPRIDE E2-System im Gelände zu verwenden, musst
Du wie folgt vorgehen :
1. ALPRIDE E2-System einschalten! (G) (6.1) (6.2)
2. Prüfen, ob der Autotest erfolgreich war (Abschnitt 6) und ob
der Ladestatus in Ordnung ist (10.2)!
7LCD-DISPLAY (C)
(7.1) Ladezustand der Superkondensatoren.
(7.2) Stromstand der AA-Batterien – wenn keine Batterien
vorliegen oder die Batterien vollständig leer sind, blinkt
das Piktogramm, um anzuzeigen, dass die Batterien
gewechselt oder Batterien eingelegt werden müssen.
(7.3) Erscheint, wenn das Überdruckventil eingeschaltet ist.
(7.4) Erscheint, wenn der Selbsttest nicht in Ordnung ist.
(7.5) Erscheint, wenn das USB-C-Kabel an an eine Strom
quelle angeschlossen ist und gespeist wird.
8ÜBERDRUCKVENTIL
Das Überdruckventil (N) ist ein elektrisches Ventil vom Typ
eines Solenoidventils und ist 3 Minuten nach Beendigung des
Aufpumpens für eine Dauer von maximal 10 Minuten geöffnet.
Je nach Restenergie der Batterien oder Superkondensatoren,
aktiv und schließt sich dann automatisch wieder.
Sobald das Ventil aktiviert ist, erscheint das folgende Zeichen
(7.3) auf dem LCD-Display. Zweck dieses Ventils ist es, den
Druck des Airbags 3 Minuten nach dem Aufpumpen zu senken.
Dies verringert die Belastung der Nähte und des Stoffes des Air-
bags und sichert ihm eine längere Lebensdauer bei wiederhol-
tem Aufpumpen. Das Ventil ermöglicht auch ein passives und
teilweises Entleeren des Airbags durch Drucksenkung, jedoch
nicht das vollständige Entleeren des Airbags.
Die Funktion des Ventils wird bei jedem Selbsttest 3 mal kontrol-
liert. Man hört dies gut am charakteristischen Geräusch Tik-Tak,
Tik-Tak, Tik-Tak, (klingt wie eine Schweizer Uhr!).
9AIRBAG-AUSLÖSUNG
Bei einem Lawinenabgang mit starkem Zug (5–10 kg) am Aus-
lösegriff (B) ziehen. Der Airbag wird in drei bis fünf Sekunden
aufgeblasen. Der Kompressor ist sechs Sekunden in Betrieb,
bevor er sich ausschaltet. Der Airbag bleibt mindestens drei
Minuten aktiviert, dann wird das Überdruckventil (N) aktiviert
und es findet eine passive und teilweise Entleerung des Airbags
statt. Sobald er vollständig aufgeblasen ist, werden

die Superkondensatoren automatisch über die zwei AA-Batteri-
en (E) (falls installiert) wieder aufgeladen. (Siehe Abschnitt 5)
Hinweis: Gemäß der Norm EN 16716 zur „Zertifizierung von
Lawinen-Airbags“ muss der Airbag für mindestens drei Minuten
aktiviert bleiben. Beim Lawinen-Airbag handelt es sich nicht um
eine Rettungsweste. Deshalb ist es normal, dass er nicht länger
als drei Minuten vollständig aktiviert bleibt.
Lawinen – Vorgehen und Verhalten: Versuche bei
einem Lawinenabgang stets, dich in Sicherheit zu bringen bzw.
der Lawine zu entkommen. Versuche in diesem Fall außerdem,
deine Skier oder das Snowboard zu entfernen, da diese bei
einer Lawine wie ein Anker wirken. Sobald die Lawine an Wucht
verliert, schließe deinen Mund und halte deine Arme vor dein
Gesicht, um so einen lebensrettenden Lufteinschluss zu schaf-
fen. Wenn die Lawine zum Stillstand gekommen ist und du dich
befreien konntest, entferne den Airbag nicht und eile anderen
zu Hilfe. Entferne ihn erst, wenn du absolut sicher bist, dass
keine zweite Lawine abgeht.

LADEVORGANG UND
SYSTEMSTATUS
Aufladen der Superkondensatoren
Es gibt zwei Möglichkeiten, die Superkondensatoren aufzuladen:
1. Verwende den USB-C-Anschluss (F) und das Standard-USB-
C-Kabel (4.3) (mitgeliefert) zusammen mit einem Stan-
dard-Ladegerät (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten), das
auch für Mobiltelefone verwendet wird, oder mit einer Stan-
dard-Powerbank. Abhängig vom Typ des Ladegeräts bzw. der
Powerbank dauert der Ladevorgang 20 bis 40 Minuten.
2. Setze die beiden AA-Batterien aus Alkaline- oder Lithium (E)
ein (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten). Die Superkondensa-
toren werden automatisch aufgeladen, sobald die Batterien
eingesetzt werden. Der Ladevorgang dauert je nach Batterie-
typ und Temperatur 40 bis 80 Minuten.
Der Ladevorgang wird durch das schnelle Blinken der LEDs
angezeigt (4-mal pro Sekunde),
Der Ladestatus wird durch die Farbe der LED angezeigt (10.1).
Beachte:
• System vor dem ersten Gebrauch über den USB-C-Anschluss
(F) aufladen. Nach längerer Lagerung ohne Batterien (z. B.
saisonal bedingt oder neues System) dauert die Wiederauf-
ladung der Superkondensatoren länger als nach dem Aufbla-
sen. Das liegt daran, dass, nach dem Aufblasen noch Energie
in den Superkondensatoren verbleibt, nach längerer
Lagerung ohne Batterien sich jedoch die Superkondensato-
ren vollständig entleeren.
• Das Aufladen mit dem USB-C-Kabel (4.3) hat Vorrang ge-
genüber Batterien. Wenn die Batterien eingesetzt sind und
das Kabel verbunden ist, startet der Ladevorgang über das
Kabel, ohne die Batterien zu entleeren.
• Ein Aufladen über das USB-C-Kabel ist auch ohne Batterien
möglich.
• Lädt das System im OFF-Modus, blinken die LEDs (H) zwar,
aber das System bleibt weiterhin im OFF-Modus.
• Das System wird automatisch aufgeladen. Sobald der Airbag
aufgeblasen ist, beginnt das System sofort mit dem Wieder-
aufladen über die Batterien oder den USB-C-Anschluss.
• 2 AA-Batterien (E) ermöglichen ein bis zwei Ladezyklen der
Superkondensatoren (abhängig von der Qualität der verwen-
deten Akkus und der Temperatur beim Laden).
Achtung:

Laufzeit des E2-Systems
Die Laufzeit des Systems hängt von der Qualität und der Ener-
gie der AA-Batterien und der Häufigkeit und Dauer des Einsat-
zes im ON- bzw. OFF-Modus ab. Die nachfolgenden Zeiten ge-
hen vom Einsatz hochwertiger Alkaline-Batterien aus.
• Ca. 2 bis 3 Monate bei 2 neuen AA-Alkaline-Batterien ohne
Aufladung der Superkondensatoren (neue Batterien, die nach
dem Aufladen der Superkondensatoren eingesetzt werden).
• Das System kann auch ohne zusätzliche AA-Batterien betrie-
ben werden. Wir empfehlen jedoch, das System immer mit
den Batterien zu verwenden, um die Laufzeit zu verlängern.

• Wird das System ohne Batterien betrieben und blinken die
LEDs grün, beträgt die Laufzeit mindestens sechs Stunden.
Anmerkung: Wird das System mit USB-C-Kabel (4.3)
aufgeladen und ohne Batterien verwendet, beträgt die
Autonomie nur maximal 12 bis 24 Stunden, was ganz normal
ist, denn die AA-Batterien gewährleisten die Autonomie
des ALPRIDE E2 Systems.
11AIRBAG ENTLEEREN UND
ERNEUT ZUSAMMENLEGEN
Den Airbag mit dem Ablassknopf (J) entleeren. Öffne den
Sicherheitsdeckel (M) des Ablassknopfes und drücke den
orangen Knopf (11.1), um den Airbag zu entleeren. Wenn der
Airbag entleert ist, schließt sich der Sicherheitsdeckel (11.2)
automatisch mit Hilfe von Federn.
Warnhinweis: Der Ablassknopf hat eine orangefarbene
Markierung, an der man sich orientieren kann, um sicherzustel-
len, dass der Ablassknopf in die obere Position zurückgekehrt ist
(11.2) und so das Rückschlagventil nicht in der Ablassposition
blockiert ist (11.3).
Wenn die orangefarbene Markierung sichtbar ist (11.3), zeigt
dies an,dass der Ablassknopf nicht in die Ausgangsposition
zurückkehren konnte und das Rückschlagventil noch offen ist.
In diesem Fall ist zu prüfen, ob evtl. Schnee oder Eis den
Ablassknopf in gedrückter Position blockiert.
Verwende den E2 nicht, wenn der Ablassknopf blockiert ist
orangefarbene Markierung sichtbar (11.3).
Überprüfe nach jedem Entleerungsvorgang, dass die
orangefarbene Markierung nicht sichtbar ist (11.2).
(11.4) Die beiden Reißverschlussbänder auf der rechten Seite
des Rucksacks voneinander trennen.
(11.5) Anschließend den Schlitten auf die linke Seite bis zum
Reißverschlusskasten ganz zurück ziehen.
(11.6) Nun auf der linken Seite des Rucksacks den Kasten in
den Schlitten ganz einstecken, und den Schlitten schon mal
ein paar Zentimeter nach oben ziehen, dass der Reißverschluss
nicht wieder aufgeht.
Zum Zusammenfalten des Airbags,
das Faltschema (11.7) bis (11.17) befolgen.
Warnung: Airbag nicht verdrehen (11.19), Haken nicht
überkreuzen (11.20), Airbag nicht Einrollen (11.21),
Airbagtasche/-öffnung nicht blockieren (11.22)
Das Kompressor-Fach (P) (11.18) muss geschlossen bleiben,
damit keine Gegenstände in den Kompressor eingesaugt werden
und die Aktivierung des Airbags blockieren.

RICHTIGE BEFESTIGUNG &
EINSTELLUNG
Der Airbag Rucksack kann nur dann optimalen Schutz bieten,
wenn er sich in der vorgesehenen Position befindet.
1. Zuerst sämtliche Riemen lockern. Dann den Rucksack schu-
tern. Den Hüftgurt für einen festen, sicheren Sitz oberhalb des
Hüftkamms (seitlich unter den Rippenbögen) platzieren. So liegt
die Hauptlast auf der Hüfte und nicht auf den Schultern.
2. Das Rückenpolster sollte vertikal mittig auf dem Rücken anliegen.
3. Schultergurte und Lageverstellriemen (12.1), Brustgurt
(12.2), Hüftgurt (12.3) und Beinschlaufe (12.4) müssen
fest geschlossen sein, um den Rucksack so eng und kompakt
wie möglich am Rücken zu tragen.
Die deuter Sport GmbH haftet nicht für Schäden und Verlus-
te aufgrund einer unsachgemäßen Anbringung, einer falschen
Anpassung oder fehlerhafte Einstellungen.
Einstellen des Auslösegriffs
1 Stellen Sie die Höhe des Auslösegriffs (B) am Schultergurt ein.
Es gibt drei verschiedene Einstellungen (12.5). Der Auslöse-
griff sollte sich idealerweise auf Brusthöhe befinden.
2 Drehen Sie den Auslösegriff (12.6), um die Höhe
einzustellen.
3 Ziehen Sie dann den Auslösegriff aus der Gurtschlaufe und
drücken Sie ihn in der richtigen Höhe (12.7) wieder zurück.

STANDARDPRÜFUNG
Der deuter Lawinenrucksack benötigt keine Wartung, die folgen-
den Punkte müssen jedoch kontrolliert werden:
1. Vor jeder neuen Saison bzw. mindestens einmal pro Jahr, oder
nach einem Einsatz des Rucksacks bei feuchtem oder nassem
Wetter, sollte der Airbag auseinandergefaltet, und sein Zustand
überprüft werden. Anschließend muss er nur komplett trocken
wieder zusammenfaltet werden. (siehe Abschnitt 11)
2. Den Airbag erst dann wieder verstauen, wenn er vollständig
getrocknet ist.
3. Vor jeder Tour müssen alle in diesem Benutzerhandbuch aufge-
führten Punkte überprüft werden und der Zustand der Sicher-
heitsgurte und Befestigungen des Systems kontrolliert werden.
4. Das Auslösen des Airbags sollte geübt werden, damit Du ein
Gefühl dafür bekommst, wie viel Kraft Du aufwenden musst.
Im Fall einer echten Lawine bist Du dann in der Lage, den Air-
bag richtig und intuitiv anzuwenden.

WARTUNG
Überprüfung nach einem Lawieneneinsatz
Jeder Einsatz des Airbag Rucksacks kann sich negativ auf das
Material auswirken. Häufig kann ein Schaden nicht mit bloßem
Auge erkannt werden. Bitte kontaktiere nach einem Einsatz des
Systems in einer Lawine deinen autorisierten Händler, bei dem du
deinen Airbag Rucksack gekauft hast, um diesen genau untersu-
chen zu lassen. Im Zweifelsfall zögere nicht deuter direkt zu kon-
taktieren.
Wenn Du den Airbag Rucksack nicht einschicken kannst, sollten
die folgenden Punkte überprüft werden:
• Überprüfe den Airbag optisch auf Einstiche
• Kontrolliere, ob die Befestigungsgurte des Airbags eingerissen
sind
• Untersuche auch Schulter-, Hüft- und Brustgurte und die Nähte
auf Risse
• Kontrolliere alle Schnallen (Einstellschnallen an den Schulter-
gurten sowie an Hüft- und Brustgurt)
• Untersuche die Schnallen, den Karabiner und die Beinschlaufe
auf Risse und Verformungen

Herausnehmen des abnehmbaren Airbagsystems:
(14.1) Schalte das System aus (G), öffne den Reißverschluss
des Airbags und löse die fünf Airbag-Halterungen.
(14.2) Öffne den Rucksack und Schulterriemen. Nimm den Aus-
lösegriff ab. Den Auslösegriff (B) durch das Loch zwischen Schul-
tergurt und Airbag herausnehmen.
(14.3) Ziehe den Kompressor nach oben aus seiner Tasche
Einsetzen des abnehmbaren Airbagsystems:
(14.4) Den Kompressor von oben her in seine Tasche (P)
setzen. Die LEDs (H) müssen dabei im seitlichen Fenster (O)
sichtbar sein! (14.5) Das Kabel unter dem Kompressionsgurt
(14.7) durchziehen und den Auslösegriff (B) durch das Loch
zwischen dem Schultergurt und dem Airbag-Fach führen. Den
Auslösegriff dort befestigen (12.5 - 12.7). Schließe dann
Schulterriemen, Tasche und den Rucksack.
(14.6) Alle fünf Airbag-Halterungen befestigen (Reihenfol-
ge beachten!). Airbag falten (11.7 - 11.17), Reißverschluss
und alle Klettverschlüssen schließen. Das Kompressorfach (P)
(11.18) muss geschlossen sein, damit keine Gegenstände in
den Kompressor eingesaugt werden und die Aktivierung des
Airbags blockieren.
Aufbewahrung,
Reinigung & Produktlebensdauer
Bewahre den Airbag Rucksack immer an einem kühlen und tro-
ckenen Ort auf (Temperatur 5-25°C/Luftfeuchtigkeit 30-60%).
Achte darauf, dass der Rucksack immer komplett getrocknet ist
bevor du ihn lagerst. Der Rucksack darf nicht mit ätzenden und
aggressiven Mitteln in Verbindung gebracht werden.
Die deuter Sport GmbH haftet nicht für Schäden oder Verluste
aufgrund einer unsachgemäßen Aufbewahrung.
Reinigung
Vor einer gründlichen Reinigung entnehme bitte das
Airbag System (4.2) komplett. Den Rucksack mit lauwarmem
(max. 40°C) Trinkwasser und einem möglichst sanften Reini-
gungsmittel (Neutralseife) von Hand reinigen. Nicht in der Nähe
von direkten Wärmequellen trocknen lassen.
Entsorgung
Das Produkt darf nicht über den Hausmüll entsorgt werden.
Das Produkt nicht mechanisch zerstören oder verbrennen.
Ansonsten kann es zu Gefahren kommen.
• Entsorge elektrische Geräte niemals als Hausmüll.
• Bringe elektrische Geräte in die vorgesehenen Recyclingstellen.
• Entsorge Batterien niemals als Hausmüll. Sie enthalten giftige
Schwermetalle und unterliegen den Sondermüllbestimmungen.
• Die chemischen Symbole für Schwermetalle sind:
Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Quecksilber, Pb = Blei.
• Es dürfen nur vollständig entladene Batterien entsorgt werden.
• Entnehme zuerst die Batterien, bevor du das Gerät entsorgst.
• Gib die Batterien an den vorgesehenen Recyclingstellen ab.
• Weitere Einzelheiten hierzu erfährst du von deinem regionalen
Abfallwirtschaftsverband.
Produktlebensdauer:
Unsachgemäßer Gebrauch, Verschleiß, Funktionsstörungen der
Steckschließen, chemische Kontaminierungen, Wärmeeinwirkung
(Verschmelzung von Gurtbändern oder Nähten) oder falsche Pfle-
ge sind einige Beispiele, die die Lebensdauer des Produkts ver-
kürzen, einschränken und sogar aufheben können. Eine optima-
le Schutzfunktion kann dann nicht mehr gewährleistet werden.
Grundsätzlich kann bei normalem und sinngemäßem Gebrauch
von einer maximalen Gebrauchsdauer von 5 Jahren (ab Kaufda-
tum) und maximalen Lebensdauer von 7 Jahre (ab Produktions-
datum) ausgegangen werden. Für das verwendete ALPRIDE E2
AIRBAG System gelten maximal 50 Auslösungen. Das im Ruck-
sack eingenähte Etikett gibt den Monat und das Jahr der Herstel-
lung an.
15TRANSPORT & REISEN
Das ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG-System wird nur mit 2 AA- Batterien
betrieben. Es verfügt weder über Lithium-Ionen- / Lithium-Poly-
mer-Akkus noch über Gaskartuschen und Pyrotechnikauslöser.
Das ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG-System unterliegt keinen Einschränkun-
gen beim Reisen und gilt nicht als Gefahrengut im Sinne der
Gefahrengutvorschriften.
Auch wenn absolut keine Einschränkungen beim ALPRIDE E2 AIR-
BAG-System auf Reisen bestehen, empfehlen wir, um Missver-
ständnisse bei der Flughafensicherung zu vermeiden, den Flugge-
sellschaften zu melden, dass Du einen elektrischen Lawinen-Air-
bag OHNE Akku im Gepäck hast. Das ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG-System
verfügt über ein Druckentlastungsventil.

Fehlfunktionen Diagnose
Der Airbag wird beim
Ziehen des Auslösers
nicht aktiviert.
1. Ist E2 eingeschaltet? Prüfe die LED
2. Sind die Superkondensatoren ausreichend geladen (leuchtet die LED orange oder grün)?
3. War der Autotest erfolgreich? Prüfe die LED.
Der Autotest
funktioniert nicht. Verfügen die Superkondensatoren nicht über ausreichend Ladung, um den Motor zu
starten? Warte, bis die LED orange oder grün leuchtet.
Selbsttest (Autotest)
ist negativ LED prüfen Vergewissere Dich, dass das Kompressor-Rad nicht durch Eis oder Schnee blockiert
wird. Vor Wiederverwendung trockne das System vollständig aus.
Der Airbag wird nicht
vollständig befüllt. Für eine Fehlfunktion gibt es folgende Gründe :
1. Der Airbag wurde zusammengerollt, anstatt korrekt zusammengefaltet.
2. Stoff oder Fremdkörper sind im Reißverschluss eingeklemmt.
3. Der Auslassknopf ist in der Entleerungsposition blockiert und verhindert, dass sich
das Rückschlagventil korrekt schließt.
Das System lädt sich
nicht über die
AA-Batterien.
Stelle sicher, dass du neue, hochwertige Alkaline- oder Lithium- AA /LR6-Batterien
verwendest. Keine AA-Zinkkarbonat-Batterien und NiCd- oder NiMH-Akkus (wiederauflad-
bar) verwenden.

1INTRODUCTION
Many thanks for deciding to purchase a deuter airbag
backpack. The backpack is equipped with the ALPRIDE E2
AIRBAG system.
In this user manual you can find information on the features
and proper operation of the backpack and ALPRIDE E2 AIR-
BAG system.
Please read this user manual carefully before using the sys-
tem. You must comply strictly with all the instructions in the
user manual. It is particularly important to heed the warnings.
To be able to consult this manual when needed, you should
keep it on hand.
Every avalanche, regardless of your equipment, is absolutely li-
fe-threatening. Therefore, you should not use the airbag back-
pack to justify running greater risks. The airbag backpack with
the ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG system is one part of your safety and
emergency preparedness. In certain circumstances it may pre-
vent you from being completely buried by an avalanche. Howe-
ver, it cannot prevent an avalanche from occurring. Thus, your
life is still at risk, even if you are not completely buried.
The airbag system is based on the principle of physical displa-
cement (1), whereby large bodies will float to the surface in flo-
wing currents of snow. If an avalanche occurs, the user must
pull on the activator to deploy the system: the 162-liter avalan-
che airbag will then inflate with air within three seconds.
The inflated airbag increases the volume of the avalanche
victim, thereby maximizing this effect to help the user the most.
The avalanche backpack offers protection from complete buri-
al by an avalanche. The shape of the airbag also protects the
victim’s back and head. Furthermore, the rounded shape provi-
des optimal lift out of the avalanche, and the bright color helps
rescuers to locate the victim rapidly.

•All protective gear has its limits. Please read and follow all
instructions carefully.
• This personal protective equipment (PPE) is intended for
use in the following activities: Skiing, snowboarding, ski
and splitboard touring, snowshoe trekking, winter moun-
tain climbing, and driving a snowmobile. IT SHOULD NOT BE
USED IN WATER.
• The airbag system must be used carefully, and you should
thoroughly examine it before each use.
• The system must not be submerged in water.
• Avalanches are always life-threatening, regardless of the
equipment that you use.
• As the user, you should never take chances, even if you
have an airbag system.
• Use of an avalanche backpack is no guarantee of protecti-
on from complete avalanche burial.
• The airbag backpack is no replacement for standard
avalanche protective equipment: Transceivers, shovels,
and avalanche probes must be kept near the slopes where
you are touring at all times.
• Please make sure when packing the airbag that the airbag,
compressor system, and its fabric cover do not get torn or
damaged. Also make sure that there are no obstructions
that could prevent the airbag from deploying.
• Fold the airbag as per the instructions. Improper folding
will prevent the bag from opening, causing operational fai-
lure, and damage the avalanche backpack.
• Only use the ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG system with the original
airbag backpack and not with any other transport system
(backpacks, vests, etc.) not intended for use with this sys-
tem.
• Install the E2 AIRBAG system before venturing out into an
area at risk of avalanche!
• You may stow soft objects, such as a filled water bottle, in
the back of the pack.
• Close all straps and clip fasteners tightly when using the
system.
• An excessively packed backpack can make it difficult to
engage in your sports activity. With a lighter backpack you
can move more nimbly and have more fun while using.
• It is easier to stay out of danger by avoiding dangerous si-
tuations.
• Please make sure not to endanger other people when trig-
gering the airbag.

• To prevent undesired or accidental deployment of the air-
bag, where other people could be injured, keep the activa-
tor zipped up in the shoulder strap bag and the airbag sys-
tem deactivated. This applies particularly on chairlifts, in
gondolas, helicopters or in the vicinity, in buses, trains,
cars, etc.
• At the start of your tour, unzip the activator cover so that
this activator is ready for use.
The following can undermine the protective
function of your backpack:
• the backpack is not positioned centrally, is too high, or too
low on your back.
• the shoulder, chest, and/or hip straps are not closed or
tightly fastened.
• bringing along pointy and sharp objects such as: screwdri-
vers, tools, or other hard objects. If you must bring these,
protect them properly (e.g., apply tip covers to screwdri-
vers or toolbags) and pack these pointing away from your
body. You must ensure these will not damage the airbag
and compressor in an emergency.
• Glass bottles, potentially explosive objects (pressurized
containers, gas cartridges, etc.), flammable and corrosive
liquids are things that can negatively impact the protection
offered.
• Any mechanical change to or soiling of the airbag system
can undermine its protective function.
• You must keep the ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG system clean at all
times. If the compressor system is dirty, the proper functi-
on of the airbag system cannot be guaranteed.
• The ALPRIDE E2 airbag system, whether switched on or off,
has no effect on avalanche burial detection devices (ABD).
However, when inflated it may act as a source of interfe-
rence for ABD devices. ABDs (beacons) are very sensitive
to electrical and magnetic interference. To minimize any
interference, wear the ABD beacon in front to increase the

SUPERCAP
Super capacitators
The ALPRIDE E2 system is the first avalanche airbag not to use
lithium ion or polymer rechargeable batteries to power the
electric compressor motor. The ALPRIDE E2 system stores ener-
gy using super capacitators (D) in the form of an electrost-
atic field. In contrast to standard rechargeable batteries, power
charging requires no chemical reaction, so the ALPRIDE E2 sys-
tem charges faster. The supercapacitators of the ALPRIDE E2
system offer numerous advantages over rechargeable batteries.
They are not sensitive to temperature fluctuations and at -30
°C they offer the same output as at +50 °C. This saves weight,
as in comparison with rechargeable batteries, the supercapa-
citators do not need to be boosted to guarantee excellent pow-
er output at lower temperatures. While rechargeable batteries
eventually die after repeated charges, supercapacitators main-
tain their power output. They can be charged 500,000 times, gi-
ving them a practically unlimited lifetime. Supercapacitators are
also passive electronic components, like cameras, for examp-
le. For this reason, they have no limitations in relation to trips,
shipping, or storage.
Radial compressor
The ALPRIDE E2 system works with a radial compressor. Its de-
sign generates a rapid air current and high air pressure that are
comparable to a compressed-air avalanche airbag system.
USB-C connection
The supercapacitators are charged using the included USB-C
cable (4.3) that plugs into the USB-C port (5 V-3A) (F).
The system can also be charged using a standard USB charger
(sold separately), such as one that you use to charge your
mobile phone. The supercapacitators primarily be charged
with the USB-C cable, and only using two AA batteries as a
secondary choice.
AA-batteries
The ALPRIDE E2 system uses two AA batteries:
1. To guarantee the supercapacitators perform 100%, you
should top off their charge every few months to compensate
for the minimal loss in charging capacity (see the section on
runtime).
2. To charge the supercapacitators
Notes:
The E2 system also charges the supercapacitators when
switched off and automatically keeps them 100% charged.
For this reason, the installed batteries lose their charge over
time. Ideally, you should remove the batteries when the bar
disappears from or blinks on the LCD. To prevent batteries from
losing their charge, do not leave them in the pack for long
periods.
Only use alkaline or lithium AA batteries (to ensure they charge
quickly at very cold temperatures). Use new premium quality
alkaline AA or LR6 batteries. Do not use AA zinc carbonate
batteries, Ni-Cd, or NiMH rechargeable batteries. These often do
not have sufficient capacity to charge the supercapacitators.
Depending on the technology of the AA batteries, charging and
charging times may vary!

Alkaline batteries
• are usually sufficient for a single charge or have a runtime
of 3 months under standard usage conditions (or 1.5 months
when used constantly).
• We recommend replacing the batteries after the system has
been charged three times (or after a single inflation).
Lithium batteries
• are usually sufficient for three charges or have a runtime of
5 months under standard usage conditions (or 3 months
when use d constantly).
• We recommend replacing the batteries after the system has

6ON/OFF
& AUTOTEST
Switching on/off and autotesting
To turn on the ALPRIDE E2 system, press the ON/OFF switch
(G). This safety switch prevents inadvertent activation in
the backpack. Pull the switch upwards (6.1), turn clockwise
(6.2), and hold in the start position for two seconds.
The ALPRIDE E2 system performs an autotest to verify that the
motor, supercapacitators, and electronics are working properly.
During this self-test, three LEDs will light up (H) in sequence to
test LED function. At the same time, the LCD blinks (C) to verify
that the LCD is working properly and all pictograms are visible.
During this autotest, the motor will turn slowly one
cycle and the green LED will light up
If the autotest is successful, the motor will turn a
second time and the green or orange LED will blink,
depending on charge status.
The system is now ready for operation.
If a malfunction is detected during the autotest,
the motor will turn four times and the red LED will
stay lit.
An error has been detected in the system,
and it is not ready for operation.
If during charging the system detects a failure, the
red LED will stay lit while the orange LED will blink
rapidly.
If the self-test fails, the following pictogram will
appear on the LCD: (7.4)
To switch off the system, pull (6.1) the switch (G) and turn
clockwise (6.2) (which is the same procedure that is used
when switching it on). The motor turns over once, and the red
LED will turn on and off to show that the system has been swit-
ched off.
Notes: The LED blinking speed indicates whether the system
is being charged (4 x per second) or in standard ON mode
(1 x every 10 seconds).
Usage in the field and LED status (H)
To use the ALPRIDE E2 system in the field, proceed as follows :
1. Switch on the ALPRIDE E2 system! (G) (6.1) (6.2)
2. Check to ensure the autotest was successful
(see section 6) and if the system is properly charged (10.2)!
7LCD DISPLAY (C)
(7.1) Charging status of the supercapacitators.
(7.2) Charge/current status of the AA batteries – if there are
no batteries installed or the batteries are completely
dead, the pictogram will blink to indicate that the batte
ries need to be changed or inserted.
(7.3) Appears if the overpressure valve is engaged.
(7.4) Appears if there is a self-test failure.
(7.5) Appears if the USB-C cable is connected to a power
source and fed.
8OVERPRESSURE VALVE
The overpressure valve (N) is an electric solenoid valve and will
open 3 minutes after inflation for up to 10 minutes. Depending
on the energy remaining in the batteries or supercapacitators, it
will activate and then shut off again automatically.
As soon as the valve is activated, the following symbol (7.3)
will appear on the LCD. The purpose of this valve is to decrea-
se airbag pressure three minutes after inflation. This limits the
strain on the stitches and material of the airbag and ensures
a longer lifespan if it is inflated repeatedly. The deflation/over-
pressure valve allows for passive and partial deflation of the air-
bag by lowering the pressure, but it does not completely defla-
te the airbag.
The functioning of the overpressure valve is checked three
times during each self-test. The test procedure makes a cha-
racteristic “click-clack-click-clack-click-clack” noise, much li-
ke a Swiss watch.
9AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT
In an avalanche, pull the activator handle (B) firmly
(with 5–10 kg of force). The airbag will inflate within three to
five seconds. The compressor will operate for six seconds
before it switches off. The airbag will remain activated for at
least three minutes, then the overpressure valve (N) activates
and the airbag begins to deflate passively to a limited
extent. As soon as it is fully inflated, the supercapacitators
automatically recharge via the two AA batteries (E) (if instal-
led). (see section 5)
Notes: According to the “Certification of avalanche airbags”
EN 16716 standard, the airbag must remain fully inflated for at
least three minutes. An avalanche airbag is not a life preserver.
For this reason, it is designed not to remain fully inflated for
longer than three minutes.

What to do in case of an avalanche:
If there is an avalanche, always try to bring yourself to safe-
ty or escape the avalanche. Also remove your skis or snow-
board if possible, since these act like an anchor in an avalan-
che. As soon as the avalanche starts to lose momentum, close
your mouth and keep your arms in front of your face to create
life-saving access to air. Once the avalanche has stopped and
you have successfully freed yourself, do not remove the airbag
and rush to help others. Only remove your backpack if you are
absolutely sure that a second avalanche will not occur.

CHARGING &
SYSTEM STATUS
Charging the Supercapacitators
There are two ways to charge the supercapacitators:
1. Use the USB-C port (F) and standard USB-C cable (4.3)
(included) together with a standard charger (sold separately),
such as the kind that you use to charge your mobile phone or a
standard powerbank. Depending on the charger or powerbank
model, charging can take anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes.
2. Install two alkaline or lithium AA batteries (E) (sold separa-
tely). The supercapacitators charge automatically once the
batteries are inserted. Depending on the battery model and
temperature, charging can take anywhere from 40 to 80
minutes.
The charging process is indicated by the rapidly blinking LEDs
(4 x per second), while the charge status is indicated by the LED
color (10.1).
Please note:
• Charge the system before using it the first time via the USB-C
connection (F). After a long period of storage without bat-
teries (e.g. seasonal or a new system), it will take longer to
recharge the supercapacitators than when charging after in-
flation. This is because although after inflation there is still
power in the supercapacitators, after an extended period of
storage without batteries the supercapacitators nevertheless
will lose all power.
• Charging with the USB-C cable (4.3) takes precedence
over batteries. If the batteries are installed and the cable is
connected, the system will charge via the cable without emp-
tying the batteries.
• It is also possible to charge the system via the USB-C cable
without installing batteries.
• If the system is charging in OFF mode, the LEDs (H) will
blink, but the system still remains in OFF mode.
• The system charges automatically. As soon as the airbag is
inflated, the system immediately begins to recharge using the
batteries or USB-C connection.
• Two AA batteries (E) can fully recharge the supercapa-
citators twice (depending on the quality of the rechargeable
batteries used and the temperature during charging).
Warning:
Do not leave the USB-C cable (4.3) plugged in while using the
E2 system in the field.
Unplug the USB-C cable after the charge cycle is complete.
Summary of LED status:
10.1. During charging
The green LED blinks slowly (1x every 10 seconds)
The E2 system is fully charged and is ready for
operation for at least six hours.
The orange LED blinks quickly The E2 system
is charging and is ready for operation for less than
six hours.
The red LED blinks quickly The E2 system is
charging and is not ready for operation.
The charge status does not guarantee full activati-
on of the airbag.
The red LED stays on permanently and the orange
LED blinks quickly There is a defect in the
E2 system indicates, since the autotest has detec-
ted a malfunction. The system is charging but is
not ready for operation.
10.2 When activated/in operation
The green LED blinks slowly (1x every 10 seconds)
The E2 system is fully charged and is ready for
operation for at least six hours.
The orange LED blinks slowly The E2 system is
charging and is ready for operation for less than
six hours.
The red LED blinks slowly The E2 system is not
ready for operation. The charge status does not
guarantee full activation of the airbag.
The red LED stays on continuously There is
a defect in the E2 system, since the autotest has
detected a malfunction. The system is not ready
for operation.
E2 system runtime
System runtime depends on the quality of the AA batteries the
power that they deliver, and the frequency and duration of
use in ON or OFF mode. The following times are based on the
use of high-quality alkaline batteries.
• Approx. 2 to 3 months with two new AA alkaline batteries
without charging the supercapacitators (new batteries instal-
led after charging the supercapacitators).
• The system can also run without additional AA batteries.
However, we recommend always using the system with the
batteries to extend the runtime.
• If the system is operated without batteries and the LEDs blink
green, then runtime is at least six hours.
Note: If the system is charged with a USB-C cable (4.3) and
operated without batteries, then it can run a maximum 12 to
24 hours in autonomous mode. This is perfectly
normal, because AA batteries guarantee autonomous
operation of the ALPRRIDE E2 system.

11DEFLATING THE AIRBAG &
SETTING IT UP AGAIN
Empty the airbag by activating the pressure release button (J).
Open the safety lid (M) on the pressure release button and
press the orange button (11.1) to deflate the airbag.
Once the airbag has been deflated, the safety lid (11.2)
closes automatically thanks to the spring mechanism.
Warning! The pressure release button is marked orange,
which helps you to make sure the button has returned to its up-
per position (11.2) and the one-way valve is not stuck in the
release position (11.3).
If the orange marking (11.3) is visible, this indicates the pres-
sure release valve has not returned to its starting position and
the one-way valve is still open. In that case, check if snow or ice
have kept the pressure release button blocked in pressed po-
sition.
Do not use the E2 if the pressure release button is blocked or
the orange marking (11.3) is visible.
Make sure each time after deflating that the orange marking is
not visible (11.2).
(11.4) Separate both zipper bands from each other on the
right side of the backpack.
(11.5) Next, pull the slider on the left side all the way down
to the bottom stopper.
(11.6) Now stick the zipper bottom stopper in the slider on
the left side of the backpack and pull up the slider a few
centimeters to prevent the zipper from opening.
To fold up the airbag, follow the diagram instructions
(11.7) to (11.17).
Warning! Do not twist the airbag (11.19), do not cross the
hooks (11.20),do not roll up the airbag (11.21),and do not
block the airbag opening (11.22)
Always keep the compressor compartment (P) (11.18)
closed to ensure no materials can get sucked into the com-
pressor and block the airbag from deploying.

PROPER POSITIONING &
SECURING OF STRAPS ...
The airbag backpack can only provide optimal protection if it is in
its proper position:
1. First, loosen all straps. Then put the backpack over your shoul-
ders. Position the hip belt securely above the waist (to the side
below the ribcage). This allows the main load to be supported
by the waist and not the shoulders.
2. The back pad should be vertical and positioned in the middle of
the back.
3. Ensure the shoulder straps and adjustable straps (12.1),
chest strap (12.2), hip belt (12.3), and leg loop (12.4)
are all tightly fastened to be able so that you can carry the
backpack as tightly and compactly as possible on your back.

losses due to improper wearing, adjustment, or use of wrong
settings on the backpack.
Setting the activator
1 Set the height of the activator (B) on the shoulder belt.
There are three different settings (12.5). Ideally, the activator
should be positioned at chest height.
2 Turn the activator (12.6), to adjust its height.
3 Next, pull the activator (12.7) out of the belt loop and push
it back to its proper height.
13STANDARD INSPECTION
The deuter backpack requires no maintenance, but you should
still check the following points:
1. Before each season or at least once per year, or after using the
backpack in humid or wet weather, you should unfold the
airbag and inspect its condition. Next, make sure it is comple-
tely dry before folding it up again. (See Section 11)
2. Stuff the airbag back in again only once it is completely dry.
3. Before every tour, check all the points listed in this user manual,
and inspect the safety straps and fasteners of the system.
4. . You should practice activating the airbag to get a good feel for
how much energy is required to deploy it. In the event of an
actual avalanche, you will then be able to use the airbag pro-
perly and intuitively.

MAINTENANCE
Inspection after every time the system is used
in an avalanche
Every use of the airbag backpack can cause wear and tear to
the materials. You often can detect damage with the naked eye.
After using the system in an avalanche, please contact your
authorized dealer from whom you bought your airbag backpack
to have it inspected thoroughly. In case of doubt, do not hesita-
te to contact deuter directly.
If you are unable to send in the airbag, then please check
the following:
• Perform a visual inspection of the airbag to check for punctures
• Check for any rips in the airbag fastening straps
• Check the shoulder strap, hip belt, chest straps, and seams
for rips
• Check all buckles (adjuster buckles on the shoulder strap as
well as on the hip belt and chest strap)
• Check the buckles, trigger snaps, and leg loop for rips and
damage
Removing the removable airbag system:
(14.1) Unbuckle the system (G), unzip the airbag, and unclip
the five airbag clips.
(14.2) Open the backpack and shoulder strap. Remove the ac-
tivator. Pull the activator (B) out through the hole between the
shoulder strap and airbag.
(14.3) Pull the compressor up and out of its bag
Inserting the removable airbag system:
(14.4) Insert the compressor from above into its bag (P).
Make sure the LEDs (H) are visible in the side window (O)!
(14.5) Pull the cable under the compression belt (14.7) and
guide the activator (B) through the hole between the shoul-
der strap and airbag compartment. Clip on the activator here
(12.5–12.7). Close the shoulder strap, bag, and backpack.

(14.6) Secure all airbag clips (while making sure to follow the
steps in order!). Fold the airbag (11.7 - 11.17), and close the
zipper and all hook and loop fasteners.
Always keep the compressor compartment (P) (11.18)
closed to ensure no materials can get sucked into the compres-
sor and block the airbag from deploying.
Storage, cleaning, and usage life of the product
Always keep the airbag backpack in a cool, dry place (at a tem-
perature of between 5–25 °C at an ambient humidity of 30–
60%). Make sure the backpack is always completely dry befo-
re putting it into storage. Never apply acidic or corrosive chemi-
cals to the backpack.

ses due to improper storage of the product.
Cleaning
Please remove the entire airbag system (4.2) before
performing a thorough cleaning. Clean the backpack by hand
with lukewarm (max. 40 °C) tap water and a very mild
cleaner (e.g., a neutral soap). Do not allow it to dry near a
direct heat source.
Discarding
Do not discard the product with your normal household
garbage.
Do not destroy the product mechanically or by burning it,
since ...
• doing so is dangerous.
• Never discard electronic devices together with your
household garbage.
• Bring electronic devices to special recycling centers for
disposal.
• Never discard batteries together with your household
garbage.
• They contain poisonous heavy metals and must be disposed
of in accordance with special waste mandates.
• The chemical symbols for heavy metals are: Cd = cadmium,
Hg = mercury, Pb = lead.
• Only discard completely discharged batteries.
• First remove the batteries before throwing out the device.
• Take the batteries to an appropriate recycling center.
• You can learn more details from your regional waste
management authority.
Usage life of the product:
Improper use, closure, malfunctioning fastener clips, chemical
contamination, heat infiltration (melting of belt straps or seams),
or improper care are a few examples of how the product’s usa-
ge life can be shortened, limited, or destroyed altogether. At this
point it can no longer be guaranteed to provide optimal protection.
In principle, if the product is used appropriately, you can expect a
maximum usage life of five years (from the date of purchase) and
a total lifespan of seven years (from the date of manufacture). The
ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG system can be deployed no more than 50
times. The label sewn into the backpack indicates the month and
year of manufacture.
15TRANSPORT &
TRAVEL
The ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG system is powered by two AA batteries. It
should not be used with either lithium ion/lithium polymer rechar-
geable batteries or with gas cartridges or pyrotechnic activators.
The ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG system is not subject to any special tra-
vel restrictions and is not a hazardous item as per the regulations
on hazardous items.
Even though the ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG system may not be subject
to any special travel restrictions, we recommend notifying the air-
line before traveling that you have an electric avalanche airbag
WITHOUT rechargeable batteries in your baggage. The ALPRIDE
E2 AIRBAG system features a pressure release valve.
