In questa sezione vengono descritte le nozioni
fondamentali per utilizzare questa scheda con
Windows® Xp. Il manuale completo è disponibile sul
Cd-Rom e sul sito www.digicom.it
DESCRIZIONE
La scheda di rete Wireless Palladio Wave 54 vi permette di collegare due o più computer
tra di loro senza fili (Wireless) oppure di collegarvi ad una Lan aziendale tramite un
Access Point.
Palladio Wave 54 dispone di molte funzioni avanzate per garantire sempre il massimo
delle prestazioni e della sicurezza insieme ad una semplicità di installazione e
configurazione:
 Plug and Play
 Autosensing, settaggio automatico della velocità
 Roaming tra Access Point
 WEP fino a 128bit
 Generazione Wep in modalità ASCII, HEX, Passphrase
INSTALLAZIONE SOFTWARE
Prima di collegare la scheda al Pc è necessario installare il software fonito insieme alla
scheda.
Inserite il Cd-rom nel drive del Pc ed eseguite il programma di installazione setup.exe
dalla cartella dei driver del dispositivo.
Proseguite l’installazione sino al termine confermando tutte le eventuali finestre
informative di Windows®.
INSTALLAZIONE HARDWARE
Inserite la scheda in uno slot CardBus libero sul vostro Pc; Windows® rileverà una
nuova periferica; proseguite l’installazione selezionando l’opzione “installa il software
automaticamente”.
Note sull’installazione:
Windows® 98Se e Windows® Me potrebbero richiedere il Cd-Rom di
installazione del sistema operativo, verificate di avere a disposizione il Cd-
Rom Microsoft prima di iniziare l’installazione.
Windows® Xp e Windows® 2000 potrebbero mostrare una finestra informativa come la
seguente:
Proseguite l’installazione selezionando “Continua”.
DESCRIZIONE LED
Il led posto sulla scheda indica lo stato di attività della scheda:
-Spento: Scheda non attivata.
-Lampeggiante: Scheda attiva e non collegata ad una rete wireless.
-Acceso fisso: Scheda collegata ad una rete wireless.
CONNETTERSI AD UNA RETE WIRELESS CON ACCESS POINT
Da Start > Pannello di controllo > Connessioni di rete.
Nella finestra cliccare con il tasto destro sulla icona della “Connessione rete senza
fili” e selezionare Proprietà.
Disabilitate il checkbox Usa Windows® per configurare … per abilitare l’utilizzo
dell’utility di configurazione.
Dal menù dei programmi eseguite il collegamento all’utility di configurazione installata
in precedenza. (Start > Tutti i programmi > “Wlan 11g network……”)
Selezionate la finestra Site_Survey ed eseguite la scansione cliccando sul tasto Scan.
Selezionate l’Access Point al quale volete collegarvi e cliccate sul tasto Connect.
Cliccate sul tasto Applica nella finestra che verrà aperta automaticamente.
Se necessario impostate la crittografia WEP nelle finestra Encryption (consigliato
per motivi di sicurezza).
Dalle proprietà della scheda di rete impostate l’indirizzo IP che volete utilizzare nella
vostra rete wireless.
CONNETTERSIAD UNARETE WIRELESS SENZAACCESS POINT (PEER
TO PEER)
Per creare una rete wireless Peer-to-Peer (modalità Ad-Hoc) è necessario impostare
in ogni client lo stesso SSID, lo stesso Channel e, se utilizzata, la stessa WEP Key.
E’ vietata la riproduzione di qualsiasi parte di questo manuale, in qualsiasi forma, senza esplicito permesso
scritto della Digicom S.p.A. Il contenuto di questo manuale può essere modificato senza preavviso.
Al fine di salvaguardare la sicurezza, l’incolumità dell’operatore ed il funzionamento dell’apparato, devono
essere rispettate le seguenti norme installative:
Condizioni ambientali
Temperatura ambiente da -5 to 45 ° CUmidità relativa dal 20 a 80% n.c.
Si dovrà evitare ogni cambiamento rapido di temperatura e umidità
 Polvere, umidità, calore elevato ed esposizione diretta alla luce del sole.
 Oggetti che irradiano calore. Questi potrebbero causare danni al contenitore o altri problemi.
 Oggetti che producono un forte campo elettromagnetico (altoparlanti Hi-Fi, ecc.)
 Liquidi o sostanze chimiche corrosive.
Avvertenze Generali
Per tutti gli apparati alimentati direttamente da rete:
Classe di isolamento: solo quella indicata sull'etichetta dell'apparato
Correnti nominali: solo quelle indicate sull'etichetta dell'apparato
Per evitare scosse elettriche, non aprite l’apparecchio o il trasformatore. Rivolgetevi solo a personale qualificato.
Scollegate il cavo di alimentazione dalla presa a muro quando non intendete usare l’apparecchio per un
lungo periodo di tempo. Per scollegare il cavo tiratelo afferrandolo per la spina. Non tirate mai il cavo stesso.
In caso di penetrazione di oggetti o liquidi all’interno dell’apparecchio, scollegate il cavo di alimentazione e
fate controllare da personale qualificato prima di utilizzarlo nuovamente.
Pulizia dell’apparato
Usare un panno soffice asciutto senza l’ausilio di solventi.
Vibrazioni o urti
Attenzione a non causare vibrazioni o urti.

Dear customer,
thank you for purchasing a Digicom
product.
This Quick Installation guide provides the basic
instructions for installing and using the Wireless card
under Windows® Xp. The complete user guide is
available in the supplied CDROM and www.digicom.it
web site.
DESCRIPTION
Palladio Wave 54 allows you to connect two or more computers together wirelessly, or
to connect to your cabled LAN through an Access Point.
Palladio Wave 54 offers many advanced features for achieving the maximum
performances and security still providing a simplified installation and configuration
interface:
 Plug and Play
 Autosensing, automatic speed setting
 Roaming between Access Points
 WEP up to 128bit
 ASCII, HEX, and Passphrase WEP key generation
SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
Before inserting the Card, please install the software supplied with the product;
Insert the CDROM in the drive and run the setup.exe installation program from the
drivers folder.
Follow the given instruction and confirm Windows®’s info screens.
HARDWARE INSTALLATION
Insert the card in a CardBus slot on your PC;Windows® will detect a new devive. Follow
the given instructions by selecting “Install the software automatically”.
Installation notes:
Windows® 98SE andWindows® Me may require the operating system installation
CDROM.
Windows® Xp and Windows® 2000 may show the following information dialog:
Just click “Continue Anyway”.
LED DESCRIPTION
The Led shows the follwing status:
-Off: Card is not active.
-Flashing: Card is active butnot linked to a wireless network.
-On: Card linked to a wireless network.
CONNECT TO A WIRELESS NETWORK THROUGH AN ACCESS POINT
From Start > Contro Panel > Network connections.
Right-click on the “Wireless network connection” icon and select Properties.
Disable the Use Windows® to configure … checkbox in order to use the provided
utility for the card set up.
From. Start > Programs > select the “Wlan 11g network” utility and run it.
Select the Site_Survey Windows® and perform a network Scan.
Select the Access Point you want to connect to and click on Connect.
Click on Apply in the new window.
If needed, set the WEP in the Encryption tab (recommended for security reasons).
Then, from the network card’s properties set the desired IP address for this wireless
network connection.
CONNECT TO A WIRELESS NETWORK WITHOUT AN ACCESS POINT
(PEER TO PEER)
In order to set up a wireless Peer-to-Peer network (Ad-Hoc mode) please be sure to
set the same SSID, Channel and (if used) same WEP Key in each client configuration.

The following installation rules should be respected in order to have the best working order of the equipment
and for the user’s safety.
Enviromental condition
Enviromental temperature from -5 to + 45 ° CRelative humidity from 20 to 80% n.c.
Rapid changes of temperature or humidity should be avoided (0,03 ° C/min).
 Dust, humidity, heat from direct sun light.
 Objects which irradiate heat. These could cause damage to the container or other problems.
 Objects which produce a strong electtromagnetic field (loudspeakers, etc.)
 Liquids or chemical corrosive substances.
General Warnings
POWER SUPPLY: only those indicated on the equipment label
ISOLATION CLASSIFICATIONS: only those indicated on the equipment label
NOMINAL CURRENTS: only those indicated on the equipment label
To avoid electric shock, the equipment should never be opened. Ask qualified personnel help. Disconnect the
power cable from the wall outlet when the equipment is not to be used for a long period. To disconnect the
cable pull it by the plug, never pull it by the cable itself. If there should be liquid or object penetration in the
equipment, disconnect the power cable and call a qualified personl for testing.
Cleaning the terminal
Use a clean and soft cloth.Wet the cloth with water or natural detergent if it is necessary to remove any stains.
Never use chemical products such as petrol or solvents.
Vibration or dropping
Caution against vibrations and dropping.
