Before First Use
Remove all packaging parts before initial operation.
When the heated throw is used for the rst time, it can smell of plastic, but this disappears
after a short time. Before using for the rst time, ensure that the temperature control
switch is in the OFF position. Use the appliance as a heated throw blanket only. This
appliance is only for warming human bodies.
The best results are expected when the blanket is placed onto a body before switching
it ON. Do not place the switch under a cover.
Pre-heating time takes about 10-30 minutes depending on ambient room temperature.
7

Heated Throw Placement
• Place the heated throw at ensuring that it does not overhang anywhere. Avoid
placing the heated throw where it can become folded or crumpled. The heated
throw may only be switched on when it is at and unfurled. It is recommended to
preheat it for 10 - 30 minutes.
• Once the heated throw has been placed correctly in position, connect the
controller supply plug to a suitable power outlet. Ensure the controller is set to
OFF. Switch the power ON. Select the desired heat setting on the controller. The
indicator lamp on the switch indicates that the blanket is ON.
• Only operate the heated throw with the supplied controller.
CAUTION: The electronic components inside the switch may lead to a slight
warming of the switch when the product is on. Therefore the switch must not be
covered or placed on top of the warming pad when it is in operation.
NOTE: Do not plug into a powerboard, double adaptor or the like. The power plug
must be inserted directly into the wall power socket.
IMPORTANT:DO NOT COVER THE CONTROLLERS AT ANY TIME.
Keep the controller away from external heat sources. i.e. heaters, replaces etc.
8

Using the Controller
IMPORTANT: Only use your heated throw with detachable controller Model CO3. Do
not use any other controller for this blanket.
Heat Settings:
0 = O
1-2 = Low, gentle heat (suitable for continuous use)
3-4 = Medium heat
5-6 = High heat (for preheating the bed only)
1. To select the required heat setting, simple slide the “Temperature Select Knob” up
or down to your desired setting.
2. The selected setting will be indicated with the number in blue on the display screen.
TURN OFF AND UNPLUG THE HEATED THROW WHEN NOT IN USE.
Keep the controller away from external heat sources. i.e. heater, replace etc.
Electrical Field Eect
When using the heated throw, some people may be susceptible to a tingling sensation
when alone or when touching someone else using the blanket.
This “Tingling” feeling is known as an “electric eld eect” and is occasionally known
to happen across all makes and brands of Blankets. It is caused by the current owing
through the element creating an Electromagnetic Field (EMF). Some people are more
susceptible to feeling this EMF tingling sensation than others. This is no cause for
concern and is in no way an electric shock.
9

Operation
Auto O
This controller is tted with a 3 hour count down auto OFF timer, which starts to
countdown from when your heat setting has been selected, and will switch o after
3 hours.
Note: Once a heat setting has been selected and the switch is powered ON, the
countdown timer will not be aected by adjusting the heat level.
The timer will only be reset to 3 hours by sliding the control knob to “0” or after
being powered OFF and then back ON.
When the controller has timed out, the element will turn o. Slide the control knob
to the “O” position to reset.
Preheat
At normal ambient temperature you should allow at least 10-30 minutes on heat
setting “5-6” to preheat.
You may use the heated throw sooner, while it's still warming up, however DO NOT
leave the blanket on setting "5-6" while on your body.
Note: A cold room that has not been used for some time may require a greater
length of time to pre-heat.
Overheat Protection
The heated throw is tted with numerous overheat safeguard systems. This oers
protection against overheating or damage to the elements by disengaging the
power to the elements before overheating hazards occur.
Should there ever be a problem with the heating element in the heated throw, it will
automatically close down the operation and the heated throw will turn o.
The controller must not be covered. The controller has built in protection, so that
if the controller overheats, or the heating element is damaged, it will automatically
close down the operation permanently.
If overheating occurs, the heated throw is permanently damaged and cannot be
used again. A replacement will be needed.
NOTE: Keep the controller away from external heat sources. i.e. heater, replace etc.
10
