Thissectionprovidesinstructionsforselectingalocationandpreparing
thesitetoinstallthereplaceintoyourDimplexmantelsurround.
1. Selectasuitablelocationthatisnotsusceptibletomoistureandis
 awayfromdrapes,furnitureandhightrafc.
2. Foreaseofelectricalhookupyoumaywishtolocatethereplace
 nearanexistingoutlet.(RefertoNOTE1)
3. Storethereplaceinasafedryanddustfreelocation.
NOTE: Thedimensionsofthereplaceare26inches(660.5mm)
 wideX187/8inches(479.5mm)highX91/4inches(235mm)
 deep.Thereplacedoesnotrequireanyadditionalventing.
Fireplace Installation
1. Installthereplaceassemblyintothemantel.(Refertomantel
 assemblyinstructions)
NOTE 1: A15Amp,120Voltcircuitisrequired.Adedicatedcircuit

IMPORTANT: IfnotusingaDimplexmantel,thereplacemustbe
installed in an enclosure with the following MINIMUM internal/
 openingdimensions.(Figure2)
New Wall Construction
1. Selectasuitablelocationthatisnotsusceptibletomoistureandis
 awayfromdrapes,furnitureandhightrafc.
2. Placethereplaceinthedesiredlocationtoseehowitwilllookin
 theroom.
3. Markthedesiredlocationontheoorandstorethereplaceina
 safe,dryanddustfreelocation.
4. Usestudstoframeanopeningof241/2inches(622mm)wideX
 181/4inches(463.6mm)highX87/8inches(225.5mm)deep.
Option #1-Thepowercordcanbeleadfrombehindthetrimand
 alongthewalltoanoutletnearthereplace.
Option #2-Anewoutletcanbeinstalledinsidethenewframe
 construction.Plugtheunitintoa15Amp/120Voltoutlet.Ifthecord
does not reach, you may use an extension cord rated for a

 2. Removetheouterjacketandstriptheindividualconductorfrom
  theend.
 3. Loosenthescrewsecuringthejunctionboxcoverandremove
  thecover.
 4.Takethecablesoutfromthejunctionbox,loosenthetwowire
  twistnutsandremovethecordset.(Figure3)

A. Main ON/OFF Switch
TheswitchhastwoONpositionsmarked.The“--“positionisfor
manualoperation.Inthispositionthebuilt-inremotecontrolisby-
passed.The“=“positionisforoperatingtheunitwiththeprovided
remotecontrol.Wheninremotecontrol(“=“)positiontheunitis
operatedwiththeONandOFFbuttonsoftheremotecontrol.
Whentheswitchisinthecenter“o”positiontheunitisoff.
B. Heater ON Switch
TheHeatON/OFFSwitchsuppliespowertotheheaterfanandthe
heaterelement.WhentheswitchisintheONpositiontheheater
operatesifthethermostatcallsforheat.
C. Heater Thermostat Control
Toadjustthetemperaturetoyourindividualrequirements,turnthe
thermostatcontrolclockwiseallthewaytoturnontheheater.When
theroomreachesthedesiredtemperature,turnthethermostatknob
counter-clockwiseuntilyouhearaclick.Leaveinthispositionto
maintaintheroomtemperatureatthissetting.Foradditionalheat,turn
clockwiseuntilyouheartheclickagainandtheheaterwillturnon.
Resetting The Temperature Cutoff Switch
Shouldtheheateroverheat,anautomaticcutoutwillturnthereplace
offanditwillnotcomebackonwithoutbeingreset.Itcanberesetby
switchingtheMainON/OFFswitchtoOFFandwaiting5minutes
beforeswitchingtheunitbackon.
CAUTION: Ifyouneedtocontinuouslyresettheheater,disconnect
 powerandcallDimplexcustomerserviceat1-888-DIMPLEX
 (1-888-346-7539).
Remote Operation
Thereplaceissuppliedwithanintegratedon/offremotecontrol
NOTE: Ensure that the replace Main ON/OFF switch is set to
the remote control setting.

Tooperate,pushtheONbuttontoturnreplaceon,pushtheOFF
buttontoturnthereplaceoff.
Battery Replacement (FIGURE6)
Toreplacethebattery:
1.Slidebatterycoveropen
on the hand held
 transmitter.
2.Installone12-Volt(A23)
 batteryinthebattery
 holder.
3.Closethebatterycover.
Remote Initialization
Intheeventthatyourremote
control ceases to operate
yourreplace,followthese
stepstore-initializethehand-
heldtransmitterandtheremotecontrolreceiverinthereplace:
1. PlacetheMain ON/OFF Switch(Figure5A)intheOFF(“o”)
 position.
2. Waitaminimumof5secondsandthenplacetheMain ON/OFF
SwitchintheRemoteControl(“=”)position.
3. Within10secondsofchangingtheswitchposition,presstheON
 buttonlocatedontheremotecontroltransmitter(Figure6).
Thiswillsynchronizetheremotecontroltransmitterandthereplace
receiver.
NOTE: Youwillhaveonly10secondstoperformthislaststep.
 Failuretodosowillresultinthesestepsneedingtobefollowed
 again.

Maintenance
Light Bulb Replacement
Allowatleast5minutesforlightbulbstocoolbeforetouchingbulbsto
avoidaccidentalburningofskin.
Lightbulbsneedtobereplacedwhenyounoticeadarksectionofthe
ameorwhentheclarityanddetailofthelogemberbedexterior
disappears.Therearetwobulbsunderthelogset,whichgeneratethe
amesandembers.
Light Bulb Requirements
Quantityof2clearchandelierorcandelabrabulbswithanE-12(small)
socketbase,60Wattrating.Example:GE60BCorPhilips60CTC.
Do not exceed 60 Watts per bulb.
Helpful Hints
Itisagoodideatoreplacebothlightbulbsatonetimeiftheyare
closetotheendoftheirratedlife.Groupreplacementwillreducethe
numberoftimesyouneedtoopentheunittoreplacelightbulbs.Care
mustbetakenwhenremovingthelogset.
To Access The Lower Light Bulb Area: (Figure 7)
1. Removefrontglassassembly.
2. Pullthebackedgeofthe
 plasticemberbedforward
 untilthereartabreleases
from the ledge located at
 thebottomofthemirror.
IMPORTANT: Onlyhandle
 thelogsetbytheemberbed.
NOTE: Logsettstightly
 intorebox,someforce
 maybenecessaryto
 remove.
3. Setlogsetinfrontofreplace.

Glass Cleaning
Thefrontglassiscleanedinthefactoryduringtheassemblyoperation.
Duringshipment,installation,handling,etc.,thefrontglassmaycollect
dustparticles,thesecanberemovedbydustinglightlywithacleandry
cloth.
Toremovengerprintsorothermarks,theglasscanbecleanedwitha
dampcloth.Theglassshouldbecompletelydriedwithalintfreecloth
topreventwaterspots.Topreventscratching,donotuseabrasive
cleanersorsprayliquidsontheglasssurface.
Fireplace Surface Cleaning
Toremovengerprintsorothermarks,theexteriornishcanbe
cleanedwithadampclothwithamilddetergent.Thesurfaceshould
becompletelydriedwithalintfreeclothtopreventwaterspots.

limitedwarrantyappliesonlytopurchasesmadeinanyprovinceofCanadaexceptfor
YukonTerritory,Nunavut,orNorthwestTerritoriesorinanyofthe50StatesoftheUSA
(andtheDistrictofColumbia)exceptforHawaiiandAlaska.Thislimitedwarrantyapplies
totheoriginalpurchaseroftheproductonlyandisnottransferable.
Products excluded from this limited warranty
Lightbulbsarenotcoveredbythislimitedwarrantyandarethesoleresponsibilityofthe
owner/purchaser.ProductspurchasedinYukonTerritory,Nunavut,NorthwestTerritories,
Hawaii,orAlaskaarenotcoveredbythislimitedwarranty.Productspurchasedinthese
States,provinces,orterritoriesaresoldASISwithoutwarrantyorconditionofanykind

Dimplexreplacesurrounds(mantels)andtrimscoveredbythislimitedwarranty
havebeentestedandinspectedpriortoshipmentand,subjecttotheprovisionsof
thiswarranty,Dimplexwarrantssuchproductstobefreefromdefectsinmaterialand
workmanshipforaperiodof1yearfromthedateofrstpurchaseofsuchproducts.
Thelimited2yearwarrantyperiodforproductsotherthanreplacesurrounds(mantels)
andtrimsandthelimited1yearwarrantyperiodforreplacesurrounds(mantels)and
trimsalsoappliestoanyimpliedwarrantiesthatmayexistunderapplicablelaw.Some
jurisdictionsdonotallowlimitationsonhowlonganimpliedwarrantylasts,sotheabove
limitation may not apply to the purchaser.
What this limited warranty does not cover
Thislimitedwarrantydoesnotapplytoproductsthathavebeenrepaired(exceptby

What Dimplex will do in the event of a defect
Intheeventaproductorpartcoveredbythislimitedwarrantyisproventobedefectivein
materialorworkmanshipduring(i)the2yearlimitedwarrantyperiodforproductsother
thanreplacesurrounds(mantels)andtrims,and(ii)the1yearlimitedwarrantyperiod
forsurrounds(mantels)andtrims,youhavethefollowingrights:
• Dimplexwillinitssolediscretioneitherrepairorreplacesuchdefectiveproductor
 partwithoutcharge.IfDimplexisunabletorepairorreplacesuchproductorpart,or
 ifrepairorreplacementisnotcommerciallypracticableorcannotbetimelymade,
Dimplex may, in lieu of repair or replacement, choose to refund the purchase price
 forsuchproductorpart.
• Limitedwarrantyservicewillbeperformedsolelybydealersorserviceagentsof
 Dimplexauthorizedtoprovidelimitedwarrantyservices.
• Forproductsotherthansurrounds(mantels)andtrims,this2yearlimitedwarranty
 entitlesthepurchasertoonsiteorin-homewarrantyservices.Accordingly,Dimplex
 willberesponsibleforalllabourandtransportationassociatedwithrepairingor
 replacingtheproductorpartexceptasfollows:(i)chargeswhichmaybeleviedfor
 travelcostsincurredtotraveltothepurchaser’ssitewheretheproductislocated
 ifthepurchaser’ssiteisbeyond30miles(48km)fromtheclosestservicedepot
 ofDimplex’sdealerorserviceagent;and(ii)thepurchaserissolelyresponsiblefor
 providingclearaccesstoallserviceablepartsoftheproduct.
